  • Wow, I definitely heard Ganandorf's theme in there.

  • 0:13 O.O sounds like a serial killer on the loose.

  • I have both HG and SS. Since my SS has all my good pokemon in it, I'm gonna start fresh and new on my HG.... the game gets boring after beating Red

  • @pichachusan360 And also in soulsilver you get groudon xD

  • i like lugia out of ho oh

but i like ho ohs theme better

  • LUGIA!!! :3 I love you baby. :3 xD

  • i cohse soulsilver because i played the original silver

  • Remind me of fighting that huge bird on Zelda wind waker..

  • @lash009 lugia>helmaroc king

  • I AM NOT GOING TO LIE

I chose SoulSilver because the colour silver appeals to me more.

  • @MyKurohime same here

  • This music reminds me of my SHINY Lugia. Even though it's pink

  • @stefismad PINK IS MANLY.

  • @gohanluigi123 I used my masterball on him for no reason.

  • Gg Ho-oh, but you cannot stand up to this awesomeness that is Lugia. =O

  • I chose Cyndaquil... named it "Burnsqueak". *is bricked for horrible pun*

  • Lugia is down to almost no HP, paralyzed, accuracy as low as it can go.

I'm safely spamming Pokeballs at it then suddenly...

    Lugia used struggle. Lugia fainted!

    *restart ... again*

  • @gohanluigi123 I have Heart Gold and caught both. No Master Ball or cheats, just regular catch.

  • 19 ppl chose cyndaquil as their starters

  • @Zarchniecp What's so bad about Cyndaquil?

  • @pikapotter2,

I agree with you. The first gym, Falkner's, is a Flying-type Gym, not a usual Rock-type. So if they wanted a tough challenge with him, the starter Pokémon for type disadvantage would've been Chikorita, not Cyndaquil.

  • @Zarchniecp i liked this and chose cyndaquil...

  • Lugia > Ho-Oh.

  • @gohanluigi123 catching legendaries isnt that hard

  • anyone else feel like you're listening to a zelda boss fight? [:

  • got heartgold and im catching him tomorrow

  • @pattyb2ooo lugia's only in soul silver!

  • @essense2234 no he's not. you can catch it after you beat the game in heart gold just like how you can catch ho-oh after beating soul silver

  • @essense2234 well i got him in my team you can get his wing in pewter city

  • :12

AH FUCK, WHAT DID I DO, WHAT DID I DO!?!?!?

  • Guys! Try to listen the Ho-Oh theme and the Lugia theme at the same time!

    I'm listening and is astoning!

  • it sounds awesome if you play them both at the same time

  • Okay everyone... in the beginning of the theme listen, and you can hear a certain part that sounds like Ganondorf's theme from The Legend of Zelda: OOT. I believe it starts at 0:03. Listen closely.

  • im upset at this theme for lugia.. i thought it would be its theme from pokemon 2000... darn!

  • @hero185704 Well the anime takes place in like a different world than the games do. In Red, Blue and Yellow and FR/LG Pokemon actually died you don't see Pokemon dieing in the anime.

  • @TheCajunGambit1 yes, but it is implied pokemon die as pikachu is seen almost dying multiple times :P

  • Idk why people like heartgold better: even though it IS gorgeous, there's nothing special about Ho-Oh flying in circles around the bellchime tower. Lugia sprining from its eternal bed behind the waterfalls is SOOOO much more badass.

  • @pichachusan360 HG and SS only have differences in Kyogre/Groudon, Ho-Oh/Lugia, and a few pokemon like growlithe/Vulpix. I personally chose HG because of the pokemon in it.

  • @pichachusan360 you can see this in heartgold too

  • @DerGremlin No, lugia's already there. Ho-Oh was already there on SoulSilver and I know they're not THAT different. Just simply look up "catching Lugia on HeartGold" and you'll see when you get the silver wing, lugia's already there waiting for you.

However, I will admit in its own way...Ho-Ohs magnificant, so I'm not hating on Ho-Oh, just don't gets what's so special about it, we get better Pokemon in Soulsilver, even Groundon!

  • @pichachusan360 really? catched lugia just once. in my opinoin arcanine, gliscor, donphan and kyogre are better than skarmory, ursaring, ninetales and groudon. but to be honest, i bought heartgold because i bought the gold edition.

  • @DerGremlin same here, I had silver so I got soulsilver. And though arcanine, gliscor, donphan and kyogre are awesome....groundons giant and fun to see walk with in tiny pallet town for Oak, ursaring has a constant "like a boss" aura to it, ninetails is gorgeous and Skarmory is just all around badass xD

but yeah, you only get the special scene for Lugia if you get SoulSilver

  • @pichachusan360 groudon is a real badass. hope there will be a remake from rse. than i will get the ruby remake :P

  • @DerGremlin A gen 3 remake has unofficially been confirmed. So you will be able to get the Ruby remake!

  • @electricbadger id rather have an emerald remake emerald was my fav pokemon game ever.

  • @DerGremlin Skarmory is badass, what u talking 'bout?

  • @SandstoneII but gliscor is better in my opinion

  • @pichachusan360 i chose heart gold because i liked ho-ohs music more than lugias xD

  • @ GET OUT OF HERE LUGIA TRATIOR!!!!

  • @pichachusan360 I know right! Lugia is the reason I got Soulsilver. I didn't know his battle theme until now. At 0:39-0:58 it sounds like he lost a war and then tried again and never gave up. That's my favorite part of the song, it sounds so epic!!!!

  • @pichachusan360 The thing is, Ho-oh's theme is better, but Lugia's opening is better.

  • @Smasher869 Couldn't agree more.

  • @pichachusan360 Compared to the original or..?

  • @pichachusan360 Plus Lugia is the guardian of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres!

  • @pichachusan360 I kinda have to disagree, but i can see why you would like lugia's scene better

  • @pichachusan360 Ho-oh > Lugia. My opinion, but Lugia is still awesome.

  • Lugia:What the b!tch i been waiting for a freaking player to catch me!

    -LATER-

    Player:Oh sh!t! This is hard!

Lugia:That it! TIME FOR REVENAGE FOR HO-OH

    -Later-

Ho-oh:I would play my DS and catch Lugia!

    -Lugia break Ho-oh places's wall-

    Lugia:I GOING TO FIGHT YOU!

    Ho-oh:OH SH!T!

  • sea monster!

  • Sounds like Ganondorf's theme at the beginning :x

  • ho ohs theme reminds me of jungles lugias reminds me of an epic battle with a sea monster

  • this sounds like something from zelda haha

  • 0:13 - 0:17 Tenacious D against the Devil: "I'm the Devil I love Metal"!

    xD

  • Heavy ball!

  • If anyone else has played "Yu-gi-oh! The Falsebound Kingdom"... Doesn't this song sound a bit like that game's entire soundtrack??

  • 0:13 - 0:17

*Lugia appears with a knife in hand* HEEEEEEERE'S LUGIA!!!! >:D

  • -Pokeball enlarges in hand-

Me: I shall get your pokedex information today

Lugia: I hope you have brought your balls...

Me: Trust me, i have Ultra balls...

  • Am i the only one that eliminates all the legendary pokemon instead of catching them lol?

  • ho oh is wayyyyy better

  • Lugia is a pimp. He gets 6 lesbians to dance for him before battling.

  • @AcidWolf117 ...Same for Ho-oH.

  • Reminds me on Zelda? o.o

  • Sure I like Ho-oh's theme better, but I think they did a good job on picking the themes to reflect the respective pokemon.

Not many people would know that much about Lugia because it spends most of his life at the bottom of the sea. Lugia's theme sounds somewhat ominous, which I find rather fitting, 'cause it seems to give him a more mysterious feel.

And Ho-oh's theme is fitting because it seems to give him a more divine feel.

  • This sucks, sorry lugia, your cooler than ho-oh, but this battle music is awful.

  • ho-oh and especially lugia look like real pokemon

  • i have a lv 73 hp-oh

  • @michaelisawesome1221 That's great for you. Now, care to face my lvl 90 lugia?

  • @SpielkissforMe OR MY LEVEL 100 ROLLOUT MILKDRINK SPAMMING MILTANK!???!!

  • @SpielkissforMe how bout my level 100 charizard?

  • i like lugias better tbh

  • I still cant belive i catched lugia with a great ball in my first try without even damaging him

  • Even though Lugia has the better cutscene when the Kimono Girls summon it, Ho-oh has the better theme. I dunno, Lugia's theme just seems to be all over the place, as if its trying to depict different moods. I mean, that's not a bad thing, but I don't think it's right for Lugia :/

  • Oh this song makes me cringe a little...only because I heard it countless times soft resetting to get a shiny Lugia.

  • Somehow reminds me of Majora's Mask... can't recall which part specifically...

  • DATE: 2/19/10

    I finally meet Lugia...

who is inferior to Lv. 49 Ampharos. :O

  • 0:03 - 0:11 says Ganondorf

  • "Invisible Giant cheezeburgur"

  • Idk if it sounded good or not, but thumbs up if you heard this and Ho-oh's theme at the same time! :D

  • This theme made catching Lugia seem so much shorter, anyone agree.

  • This is what i hear when walking into gym class...

  • To me, I think the themes for both Lugia and Ho-oh are kinda like for the personality of the pokemon. Ho-oh is a pokemon which spared the lived of 3 nameless pokemon and praised by almost a whole town. Lugia's tower was burned down and people almost seemed to forgot about him. The only ones who know Lugia are people who actually live by the ocean. Ho-oh's is peaceful while Lugia sounds dark and kinda scary.

  • To all people: It's better to get Soul Silver if you want Ho-Oh. Why? Cmon. It's at lvl 70 in Soul Silver! Trust me, (Now talking about Heart Gold) you don't wanna take ages trying to get a Lvl 40 Ho-Oh to 70. Really.

  • @SonyTheHedgehog8 I disagree. If you're playing on a pro level like I am, you'll know that the earlier you catch your Pokémon, the more stat points it gains. If you use a lv. 70 Ho-Oh in a lv. 50 match it's stats will be cut a LOT since it will lack the EV points you get through battling and stuff. That's why a lot of people breed their Pokémon and prefer to start training at the lowest possible level (using vitamins and EV gaining items).

  • @WaspCarcass False, a Pokemon will end up with the same stats at level 100 no matter what level it's EV trained at. If you do all of your EV training at level 99, you'll gain a huge amount of points in the stats you trained (around 100-150 in a 252 EV stat, varies depending on the Pokemon).

  • @CrouchingCrab Hmm, true, but unless you want to wait with using it in battle before such high levels, it's better to start off as early as possible. It's more efficient that way. That, and it's easier to control the nature, IV's and inherited movesets on bred Pokémon. But you are right, thanks for correcting me! :D

  • @CrouchingCrab

if you trained your pokemon already, will it still get as much EV's as when you started EV training as soon as you got the pokemon?

  • @SonyTheHedgehog8 Solid proof that I'm right: I have a Modest Heatran that I caught at lv. 50, I immediately boxed it away and never trained or used it in battle. Heatran has a base sp. attack of 130 (A LOT!), and it's current sp. attack stat is on 150. I also have a Modest Starmie (hatched and trained from lv. 1), EV trained and everything with a sp. attack stat of 162 at lv. 50, if I remember correctly. Starmie has a base sp. attack stat of 100. Numbers may vary depending on the IV's though.

  • @WaspCarcass Never knew that...Thanks for giving me that information.

  • Beginning around 0:03 reminds me of Bowser's castle.. IDK Why O_O

  • LULZ, tank lugia for 40 turns, False swipe and spore the shit out of lugia after. Then Timer ball its ass.

  • Ho-oh is based on mythology, so of COURSE it's gonna have a nippon-esque feel.

  • Ho-Oh's theme sounds like the pokemon version of Narutard. I like this better =3 it sounds epic at one point, then reminds me of mario party at another (just listen to it) and then it sounds sorta like the FF4 opening...=3 I love this one sooooo much XD

  • @LightCatKit

Hell no. Ho-Oh's theme doesn't sound Narutarded, it just uses Japanese instruments in it.

  • Ahhhh, memories.... Me: Finally! His HP is low and he's asleep! *Throws Ultra Ball* *Lugia breaks free* Me: Well he IS a legendary, that's to be expected. {Half an hour later....} "Aww. It apeared to be caught..." Me: Darn it! Do you think I should use the Master Ball? Friend: Sure, why not? *Throws Master Ball* "The wild Lugia was caught!" Me:*Yaaaaaawn....* I finaly caught him.... Thumbs up for trying, failing, then beig lazy. :P
  • i caught lugia on my second pokeball

  • Dudes, it's not about which theme is better, it's which one fits better to your tastes.

Ho-Oh is calmer and more exotic, while Lugia is more heroic-sounding.

  • @Silverduskess Yeah, I like the Lugia theme better but they're both awesome. I just like Lugia's cuz it sounds a lot more like a boss theme(like how Giratina got his battle theme in Platinum)

I love that they gave both their own song, because before that, opposite version legendaries had not been given their own themes. Groudon, Kyogre(and even Rayquaza) shared the same theme. Dialga and Palkia shared the same theme, and hell, in Black and White Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem share the same theme

  • @sonikku35 Actually, Zekrom, Reshiram and Kyurem have different themes technically.

In zekrom's theme you can hear lightning/thunder

In Reshiram's you can hear fire

    Kyurem just has more bass.

  • @MrSuperHeatran It's the same theme with very difficult to notice differences. I've never noticed differences in their themes, just like I never noticed the differences that have been pointed out in the Legendary Beasts' themes(they're the same, just with very impossible to notice differences).

  • @Silverduskess i think Lugia is better than Ho-Oh and they both are in rage :3

  • @Silverduskess this is so not heroic sounding, it sounds like something from zelda

  • OMGWTFBBQ I caught lugia with a FKIN HEal Ball!!!!

  • Beginning sounds too much like Ganondorf's theme...

  • The beginning sounds like a Zelda song.

  • I don;t really care about getting all the Pokemon, so I was going back and forth about whether to catch it or kill it....got it down to 25% hp left then decided what the heck *throws master ball*....then ended up using Lugia to help win the elite 4...felt bad for my Pidgeot tho, it had to be replaced by Lugia...I brought Pidgeot back for my Kanto journeys.

  • Lugia makes me think of a Zelda boss, while Ho-Oh makes me think of a Japanese shogun about to duel me. Both are good in their own right, and both come from Japan.

  • i remember in the old version i caught lugia with a pokeball-Best Moment Of My Life!

  • @MissOliOlive I caught a Lugia at half health and no status (with and Ultra Ball, though).

  • @SuperMareep ok you beat me.....*bows while taking off top hat*

  • @Diarkia124 DUDE SHUT UP!!!! COMMENT ON HO-OH'S THEME THEN!!!!!!!!

  • @Diarkia124 thats y ho-oh has a battle theme vid 030

  • @Diarkia124 I agree, but lugia is better than Ho-oh

  • @Diarkia124 No. This one better.

  • @Diarkia124 And Lugia has an invisible cheeseburger

  • EPICNESS.TOTALLY EPICNESS

  • contains part of pokemon emeralds intro music and normal music

  • Comment removed

  • Catching Luiga...Good memories. Pft I sound so old when I say that.

But, why is there a "How to Spoon" video in the suggestions? o-o"

  • @MikiMikiDouga because lugia uses a spoon....for scuba diving =P

  • @jetkirby26

    Makes sense....

  • @MikiMikiDouga i was so lucky that i caught lugia with 1 ultra ball no ar

  • @MikiMikiDouga wait wat?

  • @MikiMikiDouga I got evolution of the td dance xD

  • @MikiMikiDouga

No longer. IT HAZ BEN BANISHED FROM POKÉMON WORLD.

    (misspelt on purpose)

  • This suits Shadow Lugia better.

  • i was trying to catch lugia with net balls like forever.

Then when i caught it w/ an ultra, i found out it was Psychic and Flying....... wow

  • @Disturbed4Eva10 To Me it sounds like the battle is gonna be a real hard one,and ho-ohs not so much...

  • how does lugia fly with massive hands??

    we have hands!

    whay cant we fly??

  • @TheGamemaster26 ikr (i know right!!!!)

  • I wanna know why Lugia's theme is all sinister while Ho-Oh's is all rock. I understand Ho-Oh symbolizes the sun and is the "life-giver" but Lugia is supposed to be the gaurdian of the oceans, right? I mean sure, maybe it's supposed to be like an angry ocean storm, but still it just makes him sound evil.

  • *after watching the video*

Let's see what videos are related.

See's video titled "How To Spoon"

    WTF?

  • i like this better than ho-ohs cause this music is more intense, while ho-ohs is more like battling a normal pokemon

  • @carmaniscrazy8D For me it's vice versa. This sounds like any other pokemon encounter, really, sans the beginning.

  • I think Lugia would need Calm Mind or Toxic to beat Ho-oh. Once Ho-oh gets that burn with Sacred Fire, it's all downhill for Lugia.

  • @Dsupreme1 Once Lugia gets that hydro pump in, its all downhill for Ho-Oh.

Life orb / Mystic water / Expert belt FTW.

  • @NoirotheBloodedge Ho-oh has base 154 Special Defense. Lugia only gets 4 Hydro Pumps since Ho-oh has Pressure. I seriously doubt Lugia will be able to defeat Ho-oh in 4 turns, especially considering Recover has 16 PP. Maybe if Lugia uses Thunder and gets lucky with Paralysis

  • @Dsupreme1 Not all Ho-Oh's are maxed EV'd in sp.def. Though, you do have a point about it being more then one, I'd say 3 at max would be good for a KO. If not Lugia can also use roost / toxic with leftovers on and outlive Ho-Oh.

  • @NoirotheBloodedge the point is any smart player would just Roost with Ho-oh and be able to stall out the Hydro Pumps, since Lugia only gets four shots.

  • @Dsupreme1 Yeah, meaning its down hill for ho-oh since its using roost about 4 times and with pressure from Lugia, its -8 PP and the Lugia would most likely win.

  • @NoirotheBloodedge Pressure only affects moves that target the wielder, so Roost will not lose twice the amount of PP.

  • @Dsupreme1 Alright, either way the Lugia would win unless if Ho-Oh crits.

  • Comment removed

  • @NoirotheBloodedge Lugia only definitely wins if it has maxed HP and Defense and Calm Mind.

  • @Dsupreme1 Actually, max def / sp def with toxic and roost is what I was thinking of, but that also works too.

  • @NoirotheBloodedge Lugia has more than enough Special Defense as is; just max out its HP to bolster both of its defenses at the same time.

  • @Dsupreme1 Wouldn't Lugia win anyways since he has Hydro Pump and Rain Dance? I don't recall Ho-Oh learning any move that it super Effective against flying or water types, or psychic or whatever Lugia was again.

  • @ShadowSoldior he has thunder and lugia is flying/Psychic and hooh Flying/Fire

  • @xXRaigoXx Uh... You put the types in the wrong order. Lugia is Psychic/Flying, and Ho-oh is Fire/Flying. Its important to put them in the right order you know...

  • @1coolgirl12 yeah whatever i couldnt remember which cAME first then again im quite dumb as flying always comes second.

  • What's sad is i never fought/caught Lugia in my HG before i reset it. I got ho-oh but never lugia.

  • Hmmm... How come Lugia could talk in his movie, but not in his game? Whats with that...

  • you guys are idiots, lugia specializes in defense while ho-oh specializes in attack

    so their both pretty equal

  • @Hanson032 yeah my lugia has 280 defenses and only 180 attack while my hoho has 280 attack

  • 15 people wasted their Master Balls on Ho-oh and couldn't catch Lugia.

  • @scratchyoshi

    good thing i had 3 :D

  • Lugia: WTF? A trainer?

Trainer: Yeh and im gonna catch you!

Lugia: Ugh here we go again

    *Goes into battle*

Lugia: Ok hmmm which move...oh I know Aeroblast!

    *Trainer uses masterball*

    Lugia: WTF?!?!?!?

    *Lugia gets caught*

Lugia: WHEN I GET OUT OF HERE YOUR DEAD!!!

  • Though Ho-oh's theme was more epic, Lugia's was more appropriate for battle music.
