It's funny how America views musics and covers in comparison to other countries. Let's take Japan for instance. Marty Friedman (my favorite guitarist) has been invited by various musicians in Japan, some are even older artists, to play music with them. He cranks the distortion up to some of their classic songs. They love it and they appreciate it. Here, people gripe about how it's not almost the same. I like different spins on the same song when it's a cover (unless it's just sloppy joes).

@silvertempest I'm actually from Japan, and I see what you mean. Just because the original sounds good, doesn't mean a different type of the same song isn't terrible. The new version will never take replace the original--they're simply there for appreciation and entertainment, and in a way, gives a change for the song itself to be relived and remembered.

I see alot of complaining about the druming...Really, I don't care. Its got Kate Voegele singing! What other matters??? Atleast it's her singing and no wanna be artist who thinks they can sing, but they really can't. Even if they are bigger, Kate is a much better singer than a lot of others!

compared to most disney classics remakes, this is actually really good. she did a great job giving this song a new edge without totally ruining the original beauty. and it helps that her voice is so amazingly unique too. id like to hear her do some other classics songs, like maybe part of your world. her style may be a bit too rock for it, but i love the emotion in her voice which is perfect for that song. she could give it a good twist. lord knows shes a million times better than miley.
