He WROTE Jump in the Fire when he was only 15 (first song he ever wrote), he wrote some riffs in Phantom Lord, a riff in Leper Messiah, the Ride the Lightning riff, Call of Ktulu riff, the list goes on. Just because he didn't receive credit doesn't mean he didn't contribute. The only way Metallica knows how to write a song is to repeat one uninteresting riff for 7 minutes. KEM and RTL were great, but then they started going downhill.

personally i think Kill em all was very under developed,and ride the lighting was a more organised neater version of kill em all.Then once they got that thrash sound they wanted, they got bored so they changed it a little with master, then once they got to justice they were bored of the whole thrash thing altogther and went for a deeper heavier sound.just because Master and justice arnt thrash dosnt mean their bad

I run thru a Line 6 Spider the first series 2x12 combo. Yes I used to use a touch of chorus I don't anymore. And no pedals, the distortion is straight from the amp.

yeah but for the sake of edification, he needs to use a stand-alone tone. But I still agree with your point. Led Zeppelin's Black Dog melds both bass and guitar sounds to create a new tone.

Good lesson but you skipped that lick with the hammer-on and the bend on the 7th fret the second time the main riff is played. How do you play that? I seem to notice you use your second finger for the hammer-on and the third finger for the bend. It's on the same fret so it's kind of awkward to a beginner.
