  • Im black and I LOVE gyaru. I mean I REALLY LOVE GYARU!!!!! I hate when people complain about black girls being gyaru. Why is it ok for white girls to be gyaru but not us. Why are other black girls complaining about us being gyaru. Black girls who are gyaru arent trying to be asian. We just dress this because we like it. I dress gyaru because gyaru has has change a lot of things for me for the better. No one should bash someone else because its not what they like.

  • @ChibiBladeR White colors are more for ganguro girls, which is a subcategory of gyaru, but it's certainly not the only one.

  • I agree with Mishamoto.

I'm japanese/black and I didn't start being a GAL because of the fact that they are asian. I was like "This is stylish and beautiful. I really like it."

But what I've noticed lately is how racist it's gotten, white girls pointing out a black girl and HER mistakes but not another white girl. I mean, why does it matter of skin if we all like this fashion?

  • @YumiCakesBby i agree with you yumi cakes i've noticed that too and idk if they realize it but it really discourages girls of ALL races to become full fledged gyaru and join the communtiy when they are afraid they're going to be faced with such harsh criticism

  • NOT HATING I LIKE THE WHOLE GYARU FASHION SCENE BUT WE HERE AS BLACK GIRLS SHOULD HAVE OUR OWN STYLES WE SHULD SET THE TRENDS GOSH I THINK A LITTLE ORIGINALITY WOULD BE NICE LET THEM DO THEM A WE DO US !!! WHATS OUR CULTURE WHATS OUR FASHION OH I FORGOT WE DONT HAVE ONE ...

  • @Lyeffthelife punctuation would be lovely.

  • @Lyeffthelife Black people do have their own style; and the world does follow black fashion more than most others actually. Gyaru is more celebrating females in general even though it is an Asian style yes. And lastly they are styles that Asians follow that are modeled after black styles. So please be grammatically correct and let people enjoy the things that they like.

  • @Lyeffthelife Gyaru isn't a race thing so anyone can be a gyaru no matter their race. inb4 blacks aren't Japanese. They are black people in Japan who ARE natives of Japan. Learn to history, damn.

  • @Lyeffthelife what are you talking about? Don't you realize how many people around the world imitate OUR style?

  • Les gyarus sont une copie du style noir américain et occidental. Les japonais ont copiés sur nous au cas si tu ne le savais pas. Et cela depuis les années 2000 . Regarde les B-gyaru tu verra

  • to continue my previous comment: this just looks like a bunch of tacky girls wearing circle lenses. I'm not one to hate on videos but this was just awful you all need to learn how to flatter your attributes not this w/e this is.

  • @Dehstayne101 ok. thanks for your comment

  • I hope black girls on youtube would step up their makeup game. I seems like we're the only ones on youtube that just slap on makeup with out blending it correctly. It's embarrassing .

  • @HERstoryFIRST IKR!!!!!!!

  • Adorable

  • u know i lam black and i love japanese fashion but..come on u guys. Gyaru...couldn't you be alittle more wiht the colors or something. just because u wear contacts does not make u gyaru. i mean why no one want to use alot of white makeup. o.o isn't that why japanese girls get a tan in the first place, so the white can stick out more, and as being black, we automatically have the advantage of making gyaru the best ever. ^.^ so lets step it up girls!

  • @chimchuchi you may love japanese fashion but it seems like youre not very up to date. Look through an EGG or Ageha mag, white and colors arent very current. get it together.

  • nice gyaru vid! :D but some of these girls arent really wearing gyaru fashion or wearing gyaru make up right?

  • great vid!! :)

  • the girl at 1:20 is really cute

  • wtf is 3:06 ?!

  • @polymorphicpaper yeah..im gross with out makeup and lense. im aware.

  • I would never say dark girls can't be gyaru, but I do wonder what you consider to be in the fashion for gyaru and what not?

Because between the gals, I spotted one that looked nothing out of the ordinary, and I personally do not consider a thin layer of mascara to be gyaru make-up.

(Not trying to be smart or anything, I honestly wanna know what more there is to gyaru if you take away the make-up and clothing)

  • @Marice91 theres more than one style of gyaru and not all require enough eyeliner to look like a raccoon. and im not sure about the other gals in the vid, but I DO KNOW FOR A FACT--that lisha, tomo and myslelf have on FAR more than "a thin layer of mascara".

and gal is all about confidence, granted the makeup and hair and such is a big part of what gal is, iits about being fashionable and sexy, and proud in your own skin.

if you take away our clothes and makeup, then we are still gal.

  • @gogogyaru

Look, I know there is more then one style.

And I know you do not need to put on eyeliner like your life depends on it to be gal.

I don't know wich of the girls is Lisha Tomo and yourself, I only noticed one girl passing by between the gyaru that looked nothing different from any highschool girl, and all I could notice was a bit of mascara.

Again, I am not trying to be smart. I am honestly wondering what there is to being gyaru apart from the makeup and clothing.

  • @Marice91

Tanning as well as trendiness is ultimately the most important things in gyaru. The point of gyaru is a form of rebellion, and consider that pure-white skin is what is prized in Japan. B-Gyaru especially is an imitation of African-American-centered fashion. Anyone who says otherwise has never grown up around a fair amount of black people or in a black neighborhood.

  • @Marice91 i know this is late but...

the idea is to be a "gal"- a young woman that has money to spend on designer clothes and good makeup. The idea is to look as materially rich and up to date fashionably as possible

makeup doesn't need to be crazy per say, just whats in. Sometimes you can get away with just masscara if you have a oversized coach purse, that kind of idea

  • @Marice91

In addition, you are only thinking about a few forms of Gyaru. Gyaru is a very diverse fashion that has mainly tanning and such in common. The raccoon-ish makeup is closer to Ganguro, Yamanba and Manba - ALL OF THESE ARE DEAD FASHIONS.

  • Doin it right indeed. Keep it up ladies =^.^=

  • Keep workin it ladies =^.^=

  • Keep workin it ladies =^.^=

  • would it be ok for a white girl to make a video of only white gals? no shed be hated on. most of these aint even fucking gal and need some serious tune ups. some of u are pretty and have good style but by seperating urself from all other ethnic groups is only gonna make everyone but black people hate u. just sayin. racism aint fucking pretty

  • @gyaruluv a) im not racist, nor is my video.

    b) we are gal. just because we dont look like we jumped out of popteen or egg doesnt mean we arent

    c) this was posted as a response to somebody saying that black girls couldnt be gal.

    please know your facts. kthxbye!

  • i wish i was there with you guys and become a black gyaru gal too T T- love the vid still :)

  • people are such hatters..i love this videoz

  • whoah who is the first girl??

alot of these girls are pretty..... & piercings are totally gyaru.

I mean, please just understand the whole MEEANNING of gyaru, I think it brings people together and stuff, and wearing makeup a certain way and a cute or big hairstyle doesn't mean they're trying to be asian. I just don't understand why people have to have a stick in their ass 24/7

    I like 3:37's makeup

  • um sorry dude but dont come at me take my comment and get over it. k . smoochies!

  • FIRST OF ALL, i see nothing but pretty girls. by the rude comments i was expecting uglies...but i don't see any...all i see are ugly attitudes in the comments but trust me hun haters are in all forms..i would love them to post a vid if they can even afford a CAMERA.

  • at 1:20 she looks like a poop covered fish

  • most of them look like dudes if u ask me, and some need to work on the posing. no ones perfect though. dont stop doing what u do. i like the style too =], but maybe u should get some prettier girls to be in the videos okay i know that sounds shallow but i was inspired to do the style when i saw all the pretty girls, it makes it look prettier trust me ^_^

  • um none of us are tryin to be asian.~ check out some of my other vids and see how not asian i am =\

  • with all respect. Its not about trying to look asian it just a really fun fashion. I stopped because I cant be taking very serious as a mom, nor do I have the money sometime i make the time though. But it was so much fun to get dolled up everyday. we are inspired by that fashion and we do make it our own and embrace out color. Please don't think we are not proud to be ourselves and we often here we are weird or wanna be something else. I assure its not the case

  • @mishamoto exactly =]

  • @gogogyaru COULDNT HAVE BEEN SAID ANY BETTER

  • @gogogyaru i want to know how you do your hair tell please!!

  • @emokittenlove i looked at her video and she has barley any make up and she doesn't look anywhere near a gyaru gal.

  • please excuse my typos

  • thank you =]

  • can i please be in part 2? xDDD

  • WOW they are so pretty!!!!!!

  • That first girl was really pretty. Who was that?

  • ahhhhh..shoot she has a name, but shes a model in japan whos a cousin of the girl in the vid

  • you shouldve put that one black banba who actually lives in jp

  • i couldnt find any pics of her =[

  • dang!,

i'll send u some when i get home i think theres some on ricoche and my livejournal but thatd take massive searching

  • ok~ i may update this vid..but i havnt decided yet

  • wicked u could do a part 2

  • nice!

  • This is one sexy vid. LOL

But I agree that secret was uncalled for. That secret could be for any race and shouldn't have just been directed at AfriAmeri's

  • 10BILLION STARS!!

    greatt vid

  • zank youuuu

  • I remember reading that secret and I think its totally untrue but on this vid, i know all the girls look great but alot of them don't really look gyaru, mainly because some of them aren't wearing enough makeup.

  • how much makeup u wear doesn't make u gyaru...we aren't manba; we're gal. and honestly it more about the lifestyle

  • I know none of the girls are doing manba but look-wise, SOME of them are lacking in the makeup that makes Gal LOOK Gal.

I understand that being Gal is a lifestyle.

You missed loads of awesome black gals out!

  • please note that i actually asked these girls..as they are personal friends. if im missing any great gals its cuz i dont know them or they didnt respond w/ permission to use their photes. and all gal make is different. if it was all the same there would only be one gal-zine out.

but im done arguing; glad u -for the most part- enjoyed the vid

  • if you ever look in ageha mags, they dont wear lots of heavy eye lineror shadow. i think egg still has a few gals doing heavy-ishor more noticeable make, but some are becoming more low key (iguess thats a way to describe it)

  • yeah i guess you're right
