this is the absolute worst phone ever. i got it for my birthday in august and ive gona through 4 since, they break after like a month, it wont send messages, it wint answer/make calls, apps dont work, it reboots all the time, contacts dont load, the keyboard moves letters around while typing,etc. i could go on for hours with how many problems it has. android doesnt even update the system anymore cuz its so bad and motorola doesnt make it anymore.ik after 4 replacements.just dont get it. trust me

Ive had this phone for a year now.. i can honestly say to pass on this phone.. im not trying to make someone not buy it im just saying this phone was one of the first android to come to AT&T so its gonna have bugs.. its really SLOW and at times restarts on its own.. :/ but if you are not a heavy user this phone is preety good for someone wanting to get a smartphone.. theres better phones out there.

This phone is actually mediocre at best. The first 2-3 months you will honestly to god think it is fairly well. Yet, it slowly does gain irritations that piss you off. The slide to answer call key has to be maybe the most annoying. It is a great phone when it works, but a highly annoying phone when it doesn't. I can't be to detail here, but if anyone has any questions I can answer them for you. I will be completely unbiased as much as possible.

and the firmware for it, both android 1.5 and 2.1 are pretty poorly developed in some ways. Plus, making this phone fully rooted with ability to install non-market apps is a little tedious.

I won't argue that it doesn't suck, but there's nothing wrong with the design. First, there is no "keys" on the back, only a key shaped pad on the back. Second, when the screen is slightly below the standard, it's easiest to zoom all the way out of websites to see the entire page and then clicking on individual links becomes difficult. The touch pad on the back allows for easy individual link selection. Even so, the cpu runs slower than most android phones.

The phone has a VERY slow processor it eats battery like no other, the app store provides no apps that are good, the motorblur feature slows the phone, without it it turns very glitchy, the screen is small and hard for hands on operations, the backtrack on the back doesn't work as well and gets in your way. My first one just had a huge glitch and quit working, and the replacement had the same problem. get the samsung galaxy

the first ones had a Android 1.5, but later ones (or at your request) are updated to Android 2.1

a signature when you are texting should be incredibly simple to add on if it doesn't already exist as a feature, as Android is open-source, and there isn't really anything you have to do (except learn C (a programming language) (no small feat!!!!!!))

I have had mine since May, I have found that the lag comes from apps being open in the background. Download a good app killer from the app store and either manually kill apps or set it to kill open apps at designated intervals. This phone is actually pretty cool, but if you are not someone who likes figuring things out, get a more user friendly phone.

I have downloaded the 2.1 update and it is working great. I really like this phone.

I have had this phone since June. I have to say, tt was pretty awesome at first! But within the past few months, it's gotten kinda crappy. A lot of the programs freeze up and force close. When I hang up from a call, it will freeze and the minutes will keep going up. I always have to turn it off, and then back on. Also, the back light randomly turns on and no matter how many times I press the off button, it doesn't turn off. It also randomly restarts at the most inconvenient times.

I just got this phone... I haven't set it up yet but I have a question... I only signed up for the $15 dollar 200MB data plan that at&t offers... My question is whether or not it's considered data to text because I text a ton and if that 200MB will also be consumed by texting I'm going to be in alot of trouble.... Yes. Texting is good. You have a choice of whether to use the keyboard or on-screen keyboard. I haven't had any problems with mine.
