We walked into Harrys Bar last Thursday (21/5/2011) and were quite dissapointed as to how plain this place is. The prices are a joke 8 euros for a tea and 9 euros for a coke, very pretentious and overpriced, needless to say we walked out without ordering anything much to the distain of the snooty clientelle and staff. Just take a photo from outside...its much cheaper. This place certainly doesnt live up to all the hype :-(
I live near Venice and I go there several times but I never walk trough the door of the Harry's Bar. It is just for rich tourists, like the others in San Marco square. A place I really avoid.
The best Venice places are away from the crowdy streets.
You can find a lot of nice "bacari" (Bar - pub) which offers the same Harry's Bar does for cheaper.
I am surprised that the place looks rather plain and dull. Best to avoid I guess especially since it also is overpriced. Good Bellinis can be found in many places.
