  • I was so shocked to see what happened here! And a little over a week after this happened We also flooded in Binghamton NY!!

  • I'm so sad about this. Prattsville was such a beautiful town - I had a home there many years ago. It was up on Etta Post Road - and it was so relaxing to come up from the city for some perfect R&R. I wonder how that area is up there - if the house is still standing? It was walking distance to the Hideway Hotel. The driveway came in off of Alby Way, down through an arch of trees. I'm so sorry for all the folks who lost so much.

  • apparently a friend that use to work with me has family there and they're saying the national gaurd are just standing there with their thumbs up there asses.

  • It’s real sad that American’s are suffering and Obama Administration is sending Billions to Pakistan & Israel while US National Guardsmen is some areas are obstructionists of American good-willed humanitarian relief efforts. Soon the leftist media spin-doctors may blame lack of relief on the Tea Party, because progressives can’t let a crisis go to waste; charity starts at home.

  • @johnnybagofdonets I have been saying for many (way Before Obama) years! When every American Man Women and Child has a warm Bed to Sleep in and food in their stomach then we start to worry about the rest of the world ! Why are American tax Dollars going to feed our enemies when American Veterans are Starving and living on the Streets ! People always want to point fingers and say its this person or that persons fault When it is the fault of the System!

  • @AMERICANBIKERX

Your correct....and the Tea Party is changing the pre-existing system...

  • @AMERICANBIKERX Look no farther than Agenda 21, the plan to reduce world population to 500,000 humans, the slow descent to that goal by starving out America, destroying the middle class and reducing our great country to a banana republic. I used to think it was stupidity, but there is too much of it and it is too well organized not to be the work of world bankers.

  • Oh hon, this is awful! My folks back in Manhattan went through the storm completely without problem (just some fallen trees on the street and in parks). Wishing I could be there to help-- sending lots of good thoughts and prayers!

  • my grandfather built a house in Prattsville on Main St inthe early 1920's. My father was born in that house. Cant find out if its still standing. My heart is sick about this. Praying for all

  • @mamasan521 the Times Union wrote that "every house on Main St was destroyed." A search for "We thought we were going to die" will turn the article up. Sorry......

  • That was the wildest storm I've ever been thro

  • Praying for the residents of Prattsville and Windham <3

  • These videos are the only way we know what is going on in Prattsville. Can someone video the actual people in town so we can be assured that they are ok? Specifically I am worried about Bob and Ginny Gurley and Stella Cross. Thanks!

  • If you had not already gotten this info. Saw Bob this past weekend, he's okay. Do not know Stella, but I do know Linda Cross she fine as well.

  • I spent 6 Months living in Prattsville back in 95 and I have to say it was filled with great people and the town had that old time long ago charm to it. I always take a ride threw Prattsville every year on my Motorcycle on my way to Nicks Waterfall House for a Burger and a Beer ! I hope the charm and spirit of Prattsville was not washed away forever !

  • Wow, Windham got hit bad. My parents and I have a summer house in Ashland. Luckily, we found out, our house is fine, but I don't know how the other houses did around us. My parents are gonna try to go up there this weekend to see how everything is and to see how Windham is holding up It was such a beautiful town and they had just fixed it up nice before the storm hit it. My heart goes out to the victims in Windham and Prattsville who lost their homes and businesses because of Irene.

  • @NYCGamefreak

tell your folks not to bother, the national guard is turning anyone away who is'nt a primary resident.

  • @Invent42 Oh thanks for the warning but my parents made it through. My dad told me that they were stopping people becuase of that. The gaurd let them in once they told them where their house was. Actually they just came back today after a couple of days there.

  • @mrmacmasonry: this was difficult to watch, but thank you for doing it. It breaks my heart.

  • As hard as it is to see the destruction of such familiar places, it is harder not knowing. Thank you for posting - I wasn't able to go out and look myself.

    Unbelievable.

  • Most of my best childhood memories are from the time I spent in Windham. It's where I learned to ski. It's where my family still insists on keeping and maintaining a house so we can visit. We work hard to do so, it's not easy, but we love it. I just can't believe what I'm seeing.

  • Does anyone know if Ashalnd was hit as hard? And what about St. Josephs church? The little one with no electric on the hill?

  • This is so heartbreaking. I lived there and on Long Island for a straight 8 years. I got to know almost everyone in 3 towns. My heart is breaking for them. Prayers will be said for everyone. <3

  • Which clips are from prattsville and which are from Windham?

  • This is great video footage of all the destruction Irene has caused......how sad. Thanks for taking the time to show us.

  • The trailers came from Prattsville (instead of making a left at the bridge, you make a right). It looks like they ended up at the Gilboa Dam. It really breaks my heart to see all of this damage. I was born and raised in Windham.

  • I have a heavy heart watching this.. God bless all

  • I have spent a lot of time in prattsville, i was born in the area in 67 in a car cairo ny and my father lived right around the corner from there on 23. this realy pains me

  • This breaks one's heart.

  • @SUNYUlsterVLE

Yes, it is a heart-breaker. The destruction is mind-boggling, and cannot be fully conveyed with images. I have visited there several times in the past, and often thought what a lovely place it would be to live. Now I am glad I live where I am now. Some people live elsewhere as their primary residence, and have no idea what has happened, aside from what they can see in YouTube videos. Many homes are off their foundations, and the trailer park in Prattsville is completely gone.

  • sighs

  • Drove thru Prattsville and Wyndham accidentally last night, it was so sad. Yet, everyone so friendly and helpful in trying to get us home which took all night......best of luck on the rebuilding....

  • This is the best video footage yet. Thank you for sharing this. It is utterly devistating. My heart and prayers are with everyone in this area where I've spent many of my summers. I still haven't heard from my friend in Prattsville and am praying she's okay.

  • omg, I hope nobody got hurt!

  • Video 7:45: This was our house up until 6 months ago. I remember spending weekends, holidays, Greek Easter and most of the summer there; it saddens me to see what devastation and hardship has settled on to this sweet town and our friends. Regardless of the memories, it would be fruitless to rebuild again; flooding in this region is a perpetual event and with global warming, it will only get worse. My thoughts and prayers go out to those that are effected by this tragedy.

  • How traggic!!! We had such beautiful memories at Prattsville. Glad we sold our house 6 months ago. Thanks for sharing!
