cm´on that jeep its 15 years older than LRs we doesnt know how his mecanichal conditions it was, it look not so good because it break down in the end , i have a sahara jeep and maybe all it needs are the diff lockers , i have one thing to say , maybe the jeep its gonna go a little bit far offroading but the confort in the everyday driving its way superior in the LR but very unreliable , and expensive.

Finally as far as the lr3 being unreliable. i can honestly say it is no more unreliable than ANY other car on the road, just keep up with the maint.

I own a 2008 LR3 now. It is an amazing vehicle. But in defense of that poor Jeep that didn't make it up there, I must blame the driver. That Jeep is TYPICALLY completely capable of climbing that hill. Before I owned the D3 I owned a 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4, 5 speed with 4.0 HO motor. It was one of the most impressive 4x4's I have ever driven. I only got it stuck one time, and it was my fault, not the Jeeps. So in defense of that Jeep,That was a BAD DRIVER. And LR's ROCK!

well let's say i've never heard anything bad about the LR3, only bad thing i heard about range rovers is that you need to maintain the transmissionl, but that was just from 1 or 2 people. They're great cars and I am going to get rid of my Jeep to get one. I have a friend who works at Chrysler, he's a mechanic there and i get all the bad news about Jeeps and I'm still having probs with mine. however the lr3 is the discovery though....

@wowhomie1 just so u know the LR3 is basically a newer model Disco. Studies show that in N. America alpha numeric vehicle names are more popular. In England for example it is still sold as a Disco series 3. Just the same a Freelander is now called an LR2 in N. America.

@wowhomie1 i think of it this way....i just got a used 97 jeep wrangler sport. My friend just got a used 08 LR3. I spent $8,000. My friend spent $30,000 (and had a trade in)....If i had $22,000 In upgrades im sure i could make it up the first time also..think of it that way and u know a jeep is just if not better then a landrover..just saying...

Plus jeeps are all mechanical so u dont have to worry about something breaking down which brings me to my next point.my jeep has 92,300 miles and no problems so far, my friends 2008 LR3 has 30,000 and is alread in the shop 2 weeks after owning it because the breaks stopped working. end of story.

Honda and Pagani the honda is cheaper might be more reliable than the Pagani, but the fact is the pagani is still faster on the track and road compare to a Honda. likewise the LR3 is better offroad compare to the junk you call jeep. ok not really junk at least it moves.

i took my range rover offroad this Saturday with about 30 jeeps. man what a peace of shit this jeeps are compared to stock range rover wow. my rover was the only rover and they were trying to go very hard places that i couldn't pass but surprisingly my rover was passing it easier than jeeps with 35" tires

at the end of the day 2 jeeps blow engines 4 broke the dif's . and about 24 jeep owners had broken heart to see stock rover out perform them

i guess it goes to prove a center locking differental that puts power to all 4 wheels is way better than non locking that puts power to one in front and one at the back.

Actually, a center locking diff does just that. Make sure that power is divided equally between front and rear. You will spin one front and one back tire if you only lock the center diff. To make all 4 turn regardless of circumstance, you need front and rear diff locks along with a center diff lock (for full time 4wd). Part time cases are naturally "locked".

Center diff lock doesn't send power to all 4 wheels. It will divide the power equally between the front and rear. You will still spin one front and one back if you only have the center diff locked. To make all 4 tires receive power regardless of circumstance, you need front and rear diff locks as well.

thats a rear or front diff lockers,the center lockers just sends equal power to the front and rear axles,but it damages the trasfer case if its driven on pavement locked so thats why theres one in the first place
