To check your bootloader look towards you serial number and it must be xxx832xxxxxx or a lower number, there is a small ammount of people that will have a 5.08 bootloader with xxx835xxxxxx or lower. This is because during that production week apple closed the loop hole for baseband downgrading. GL

Get if you have the bootloader and the the 3g this will work for you on vodafone or any other uk sim card. I've notice that recboot is causing some problems so you can use tiny umbrella if you have the same problem exiting recovery mode. I've noticed on voda that sometimes I loose signal but if I respring my phone via winterboard that it fixes that bug

Having 835 in your serial number DOES NOT GUARANTEE you have 5.08 bootloader. I checked my serial number against your comment and then spent hours jailbreaking, working through various discrepencies with these instructions, etc. only to get to the fuzzyband step and have it tell me that my bootloader is VERSION 5.09.

Bootloaders are actual chip sets and cannot be downgraded at all so if you have any other bootloader than the 5.08 then this video will not work for you. Apple has sealed all the known holes in there lock so an unlock is unlikely for the 5.14.2 so for those of you who don't have the 5.08 bootloader, you will have to hope that the next upgrade firmware comes with a new baseband that will have vuneralbilites that can be used towards an unlock

Hello unfortunate iPhone users. You need an iPhone 3g with a 5.08 bootloader for this downgrade to unlock to work. Their will almost certainly never be an unlock, so everyone with the iPhone 3g should consider replacing there bootloader chip. Judging by recent remarks I wouldn't recommend doing this yourself.

Ultrasnow does not support 5.14.02 but does unlock 5.13 and to be able to downgrade you need to use fuzzyband. Fuzzyband only downgrades iPhone 3g phones with a 5.08 bootloader. You can see which bootloader you have by checking your serial number and if it has xxx835xxxxxx or lower then you have a 3g phone with a 5.08 bootloader and fuzzyband can downgrade your baseband to the ultrasnow supported unlock. Sorry but you need to have an Iphone 3g with a bootloader 5.08

If anyone else had the problem of not being able to locate fuzzyband in Cydia, you may need to sync your iphone with iTunes before you search for fuzzyband.
