  • Gorgeous dancing by a gorgeous woman!

  • hmmmmmmmmmm so sweeeet' chica' bella

  • This is an outstanding video of a great performance. All the more amazing considering that you had to dance around servers and customers in a very small area. I know very little about belly dancing, but I know what I like, and this is it. I also love the metallic bell-like sound when you're dancing. Is that something you are wearing, or is it something one of the musicians is playing? Thanks.

  • @HearYeRocknRoll The metallic bell sound is made by finger cymbals also known as zills - played by Helen Fischer not me.... Thanks for your complement...... :)

  • She's one of my favorite dancers. Lovely, original style. She's very beautiful too.

  • @cornelius386 thank you sweetheart = these days a good compliment never goes astray - see it took me 9 months to respond to that.... Love E x

  • Bravo jamal bravo man! ur very good at the derbakeh i luv them , mate i cant even thin of any criticism for you, your fuckn brillitant!!!!

  • pazza7, at least you're finally complimenting and recognizing the GOOD drummers on youtube. FINALLY. LOL!

  • minanation45 can we put all the conflict past us and just forget that all these argumentative comments never happened? and put the past between us, i kno there are comments on others page indicating tension but this is the official comment requesting a truce and may things between us not arise in conflict?

  • Damn, pazza7, I wish I read this 10 minutes ago. I just posted negative comments to you on another video. Hmmm, now I am filled with remorse. I still had a valid point with those comments though, LOL! Okay, we're fine. If you'll forgive my most recent comments. Just try to be humble and accept criticism graciously. My original comments to you were VERY positive. Your attitude and crude insults initiated my negativity but I'll admit to going overboard in some comments. I apologize.

  • You're a VERY talented performer with GREAT technique. Just one criticism: Most of your solos are completely identical to Issam's work. This is expected from beginners who are learning to play tabla by watching Issam's videos but you're a professional so your solos should be original and not repetitive. Don't waste your talent by copying Issam and by repeating the same transitions every 15 seconds.

  • Jamal isn't copying Issam. Both drummers are using standard cabaret drum solos. This particular solo is refered to as the Amani Solo, which was created by Bassem Yasbek for the Lebanese dancer Amani.

  • I wasn't specifically discussing THIS solo only. I meant ALL of his solos. Jamal is a great drummer, why be repeative and take ideas from ANYONE? (Yes, I know Issam used Amani's drummer's solo. But most drummers assume it's Issam's original solo.) It's not even a terrible criticism, I'm basically saying since he's great, be original. Taking full 2 to 3 minute sections from ANY solo is simply unnecessary for a good player. This is not a basic cabaret solo played by everyone by the way.

  • You are right and Jamal does have original music on his CDs. It's just a lot easier with small gigs to do standards. Especially for dancers who are more comfortable dancing to something they recognise.

  • Hello, Thank you for your compliment. Please visit my myspace page and listen to my original solos.

  • Oh, very nice. I wished I checked your myspace before. The intro to Tablah Solo 2 is brilliant. I apologize, I didn't intend to single you out. Unlike Issam Houshan, who I have no respect for, you didn't record Amani's solo, nor are you making money off it. Great work on your myspace music.

  • I love this video. You remind me of how many sounds one can produce with our hands and a creative, enthusiastic spirit.

hearty brew cheers to you and yours,

    Dave in CA

  • This, is 'Totally Beautiful' here I love the Sound of the 'Doumbek' I practice one myself. 7-10-07.

  • heyyy i heard a rythm in there that i know how to play!! lol great job!

  • beautiful to watch. Lovely playing. Yes this is how a dancer performs off the big stage and its much more personal and fun.

  • Is the dancer dutch? She dances very well!

  • I think she has German background since she also do Bavarian dancing

  • Yes, she has a Dutch dad I think! and she was born of a bellydancer !!

  • @yesiamdutch yes I am dutch - i will be in Holland in August!

  • The musicians are so talented and fun & the dancer is just mesmerising...Thank you for sharing:)

  • are u from sydney??

  • I live in Sydney now.

  • The other doumbek players are my old students from 10 years ago. They now teach as well.

  • Jamal, I bet the other doumbek players in your band are your students????

  • The dancer is performing in a cabaret environment and is dancing to suit the environment. The smiles on the crowd suggest that she entertaining them successfully. Audiences in a restaurant in western countries normally would not appreicate modern Egyptian style.

  • that dancer is dreadful - what a slapper! :-/

  • Thanks!

  • NIce playing....your awesome...love your videos!
