Absolutely despicable. The DM seem to be the only paper printing in detail Anne's story of years of horrendous abuse. I am so upset. Can't understand what animal protection societies are there for, if not for cases like this. Hoping so much things will change for this sad and ill-treated elephant. Also for the other animals in this piece of scum's 'care'. But probably the story will just die down, and nothing will happen.

this elephant is not mistreated under any circumstances, this elephant (anne) is the oldest elephant in europe aged at 55 years old! thats says it all about the treatment for the elephant! the RSPCA and animal welfare act are also aware of anne, they are very impressed with annes living conditions and upkeep, she is currently at the bottom of my st, and infact as a massive field to wander about on! u lot need get a grip

@evelynjoyce incase you had not noticed, the comment i made was 7 months ago, the story of anne being mistreated was only released in recent press!! and if you had actually read the story correctly then maybe you would have seen that the current owner was the abuser, the abusers were the animal keepers in which the owner paid to look after anne, unfortunatly this was not the case and anne was being abused behind closed doors!

Roberts has always been the 'owner' and if he's not responsible then why is he & his daughter being taken to court for animal abuse? Why'd he buy an elephant from the wild in the first place? Roberts family have owned a lot of elephants since the 1940s. Ask them to account for each one from arrival as babies for training to the present day especially what happened to Maureen who attacked him so badly? Not to mention bears, lions vultures, chimpanzees etc

i'v seen many shows with them in and gone behined and saw the animals they are looked after. all the place they visit have to have a vet check them if they were being cruel to them the vet would have shut them down.
