  • I have two questions, how long did it take you to build this? And where do you keep all your models? Please REPLY....

  • another nice build Rob..and another one that's inspired me to go and get this kit too! ..hope to see you back soon

  • I've honestly never heard of this plane!... looks like it was an interesting kit though - Heller always do brilliant box-arts, and this is definitely one of them. The result model looks brilliant as per usual as well.. :) Another one to add to your rapidly growing collection.

  • Great model, thanks for uploading.

  • that is one hell of a prop on that thing, model looks great and yes eye catching

  • I like that image on each side...I am sitting while typing even though the M. is playing...:)

  • Another unusual and eye-catching model that makes your collection yet more gripping ;) Talking on in-between wars warbirds, I hope to one day come across a 1/72 or 1/72 Boeing P-12/F4B...

  • @AlanMartinNala Matchbox made a P-12 in 1/72, and as Revell bought most if not all of the Matchbox toolings when they gave up making models, I guess we can only hope that Revell will release the kit under their own name at some point.. If not you can still find the Matchbox original on the internet, or at model shows if you are lucky... :) Glad you liked my little D.510... :)

  • @RobWillieJesse If you close your eyes, it almost looks like a Spit... :)

  • Awesome now you should make the Dewoitine De.520! :)

  • @tankman13p66 I have the kit on the table... :) Just haven't started it yet... :) :)

  • Aaaarrgghhh! What a disaster! Shame on you! =) But very beautiful painting! ;-)

  • @trainfart Thanks... Well, these things happens, even to an experienced modeller.. :) At least I could make a new one, that was better and thinner... :)

  • @BasicModelling I guessed at much! :>

  • @trainfart :-)

  • Interesting history... Nope, I never heard of it either until now.

  • @fehquig Educating you daily... :)

  • Cool plane. Plane with big wheels somehow always impresses me.:)

  • @2paintminiatures Yes, I think it was the somewhat cumbersome wheel arrangement that made it attractive to me.. That landing gear must have caused a lot of drag.. :)

  • nicely done , especially for an old heller kit !

  • @TheRocketSilo Heller kits are classics in their own right... takes me back to my youth when there wasn't much else but Heller and Airfix to chose from.. :)

  • Nicely done as usual, I really do like your silver finishes; master classes in brush painting they are :)

Never really been a fan of French aircraft, their Inter-War bombers especially are amongst the ugliest ever built IMO!!

  • @bruce3371 I agree.. they're ugly-ugly!! But then again as models they stand out because of it... and this is ugly in a beautiful way, me thinks.. :)

  • @BasicModelling "ugly in a beautiful way" Just like my step son's dog, which, funnily enough is a French breed!!! A Dogue de Bordeaux (the dog from Turner & Hooch!).

  • @bruce3371 I'd love to have one of those dogs for myself... :) :)

  • Reminds me of a spitfire for some reason. All that filler - can't you take them back and complain?

  • @MrRandomWritings ..and miss out on sniffing all the filler fumes?? They kept a generation going, back then, you know.. :)

  • @BasicModelling I can't remember I was too filled out

  • A nice little build. Too bad about the fogging, but you got that straightend out very well.

  • @badgrendels Well, that's another thing that I've learnt now... and the shield ended up much better for it! So much so that I may do this as a standard thing on similar looking open cockpits from now on, as the kit parts can be a bit thick and out of scale.. :)

  • @BasicModelling I never thought too much about the kit canopy, but you are right, often they are too thick.

  • Very nice!! I saw that kit at a hobby store I frequent alot. They had bought a collection of old models from someone. This one included. I may have to go and get it now. My girlfriend probably thinks I have enough models planes already that I havent built but oh well....I'll fight that battle later. :-)

  • @flubug1 You can't have 'enough' models... that is impossible!! :) It's a nice kit and an interesting aircraft for any model collection.. :0 So buy it if they still have it... :)

  • Excellent build!, i have a tamiya 1/48 scale lancaster and i thaught about doing a build vid on it.

  • @awsem1o1 Please do.. I'd love to see it! I have a 1/72 Revell Lanc started but goodness knows when it will be done... :)

  • @BasicModelling allright i have to finish a project before i start building. is it cheating that i will use a airbrush?

  • @awsem1o1 I have loads of started projects, it's all part of the hobby.. :) And you shall use whatever method of painting that works for you.. I would use an airbrush too, if I could.. but I have nowhere to use one properly... :)

  • @BasicModelling i might have to put it off for a while because its really cold for airbrushig, so when the weather turns nice i will start.

  • Wonder if the landing gears fell off on landing?

  • @MrStarraider Well, they look sturdy to me... but they must have caused a lot of drag and slowed down the plane.. not a good thing for a fighter aircraft..

  • @BasicModelling That is true but the German's didn't start making retractable landing gear until the late 30's

  • @MrStarraider Yes, I think the first ones to actually make an aircraft that could retract the landing gear was the Russians...

  • does this plane have a particularly long wingspan to fuselage ratio? those wings really seem to stick out there like dumbo ears! lol.

  • @TheMinisterofDefence I thought the same thing.. and I guess it probably did! It looks a bit odd now you're mentioning it.. :)

  • Yet another fantastic build sir, congrats :o)

  • @sbjaymk2 Thank you kindly... :) I just felt like building something quick.. :)

  • Definately an elegant plane, but very much a machine of the 1930s. Great build and an excellent vid.

  • @chancerNW Thanks.. They had some odd aircraft designs during the period between the wars, until nessecity forced them to design more slimline and agile aircraft..

  • When Obi-Wan said to Luke: "He's more machine now than man!" I suppose we could say something along the same lines for this build: "It's more filler now that kit!" Well, you certainly whipped it into a particularly pleasing shape! And the canopy looks fantastic! Nice to see something that isn't a Spit, or a 109 or, heck, even a Jug! Ok, maybe not the last one.... ;) Fantastique!!!

  • @MakingModelsAgain Well, I seem to be all 'Jugged out', just can't motivate myself to build another one right now, even though I have a few started.. Just prepped with the cockpits painted and so on to save me time when I get round to making one again!! :) Those Brazilian P-47's are tempting me, but they're not calling me loud enough and desperate enough for me to actually get going.. just yet! Even though they will be 'beefed up' with maximum ordnance load when done... :)

  • Nice work

  • @thehjupo Thanks much!! :)

  • I still enjoy the mini history lessons you tag at the beginning of these vids! Maybe that model should include it's own tube of filler! :O

  • @NaturalTwentyFilms Ha ha ha ha.. Yes, that would be a good slaes point, I guess... :)

  • @BasicModelling sales, not slaes..

  • nice background and as always a beautiful build, very much less is more sort of finish

  • @leokimvideo Thank you.. I just wanted a quick build as I otherwise wouldn't have completed anything at all this month.. :) Plus the aircraft is odd enough to interest me, just because nobody really has heard about it, and it very quickly faded into oblivion.. :)

  • @BasicModelling i like the faded into oblivion stuff!

  • @leokimvideo Well, thay sure didn't make much input on the history of WWII or aviation in general.. :)

  • £3.50!!!

  • @T55Storm That was the 'new' price... I only paid £2... :)

  • @BasicModelling thats what my mum would call a bargin

  • @T55Storm It sure was... :)

  • Like a lot of older kits there seem to more putty than plastic! This aircraft has nice lines!

  • @richardwillett Yes, it is a little beauty, I guess.. :)

  • The airplane looks good with silver paint. Do you use enamel paint or metalizer

  • @darktarget1 Thank you.. I use Humbrol 11 enamel... always! :)

  • Brilliant model! Just love the camo! :) :)

  • @wammyburger Yes, so do I... easy enough to paint!! :)

  • It looks really cool in the end. I don't like very much these plane but, I have to say that with these painting, it looks awsome.

  • @ww2hispanomodels Thank you... :) It makes an interesting contrasyt to the more known WWII fighters.. :)

  • great work rob!

  • @MilitaryAircraft101 Thank you very much... It was a bit of a change to my normal kind of aircraft models.. :)

  • Nice one Rob. Another beaut for the collection

  • @dondeyout1 Absolutely.. Now I just need to build its bigger brother, the Dewoitine D.520... :)

  • Very beautiful looking plane! Nice work on the model too. I particularly fancy the masking tape harness inside of the canopy.

  • @Colfax11000 Well, it would have looked odd in an open cockpit, not to see any harness, I think.. so it had to be done.. :)

  • That looks beautiful Robomodeller,another stunner : )

  • @primativemodelling I'm sure the pilots who flew it were stunned too... :)

  • cool model of a very interesting aircraft! well done rob :) i love the french anthem.

  • @888HamilkarBarkas888 French planes demands le'Marsielleaise... :) :) Thanks.. :)

  • Very cool build!!

  • @Catattafish Thanks.... it will be my only model this month, I have started another one but it won't be done before next month.. :P

  • Another one takes to the air.

  • @EmCSpiteri1 It nearly did.. as I almost dropped it... :)

  • Looks great, nice to see a lesser known Aircraft in the form of a kit.

  • @militarymoddeling Would love to see one flying too, but I don't know if there's any preserved airframes left... ?

  • Nice work!! :)

  • @Davidxcat Thanx... :)

  • Nice model Rob.

    Greetings also :-)

  • @Zjwaamseliedjes Thank you... I hope you have an excellent weekend.. :)

  • Amazing build!

I am currently working on a Russian T26 and Panther diroama

  • @hetsar diorama*

  • @hetsar Better than diarrhoea... ;)

  • @BasicModelling

Very nice. I would say your new windshield probably looked better than the one in the kit.

  • @I85PIES Absolutely, it is much more to scale now..... :) Thanks.. :)

  • @hetsar Thank you.. ;) I'm looking forward to see your diorama when it is done.. Please let me know when or if you post a video of it.. :)

  • nice 1 ! good model

  • @edvinaskmito Thank you.. As usual I had fun building it... It will be the only model I complete this month though.. :P
