  • thanks just used this to forge a passport wish me luck

  • I think you should make two profiles for each lighting condition.

  • Ottimo bravo

  • Thanks for this video. For doing a custom white balance in camera do you find the white card in the Passport convenient and practical? I wondered if it might be too small because you have to be quite close for a custom white balance.

I have a classic 24 colour Getag MacBeth chart, which is bigger than the Passport and can be used for profiling using the same software but I didn't find it very practical for taking a custom white balance in camera because the white patch is too small.

Never do that. We take a shot of the checker and then apply sync the WB settings.

  • thanks for this tutorial. Question: Do you take pictures of the Passport on full auto (shutter/aperture/ISO/WB)?

I'm a new owner of the passport and I'm having difficulty importing pics of the passport (specifically indoors, under limited lighting), either through LR3 or through X-Rite's own application.

    Thanks

We use Aperture priority, check the histogram and adjust EV to get a good exposure (neither clipped highlights nor much underexposed.

WB does not matter as the software figures it our (due to the gray patches)

    thanks

  • Thank you. This was very helpful with getting me setup with my color checker passport.

Hard to say without the files. Best you go to X-Rite customer service.

  • Thanks for the video. I was trying to figure it out in Lightroom and didn't realize you just export it to the software.

  • You are welcome.
