Compare it to Wunderlich or Gedda and he looses. Great technique, but hidious voice (Sorry, it´s just my opinion; didn´t want to offend you)

True, the timbre wasn't intrinsically as pretty, but with the way he used it, you wouldn't begrudge him that timbre.

No, it was far from hideous, just not as attractive maybe as Wunderlich or Gedda's voices. Somehow I prefer hearing him in Italian even though this was his specialty. Or was it?
