You know the band is good when people get in heated debates over the current state of metal on a video of them. BTW Ekotren is the best new (to me) band that i have found anywhere. Haters are just confused admirerers. If you don't like the way they sound then why spend so much time on their video arguing. Go listen to the fag music that makes up most of the radio play these days.

You might say Mr. Bungle and Praxis are not good examples of metal but I would say you're not listening to them. Those bands were perfect examples of metal "Evolving". Heavy music utilizing other codes to accomplish something different. Most of these guys are on to other things and have created their own record labels, it doesn't surprise me. The record industry doesn't want real talent, they want commercial crap so stupid people can continue to feel good about what they listen to.

Metal pretty much stopped evolving into anything interesting once bands like Mr. Bungle, and Praxis stopped playing the heavy stuff. The fact is, most metal is a one liner, it's formula, rehashed power chords played by people who should probably be playing football or whacking off somewhere else. Some of the Norwegians are doing some interesting stuff, but most of the shit from the states is just weak brute rock with no intelligence. Sorry man, this band is crap.

well, despite how you might feel about the industry or this band in particular, one of the things that fuels the industry is devotion to their art, and the resilliency to play out, without having been heard out. These guys rock harder than just about everything on the radio, so I remain in disagreement with your statements. Minus the Mr. Bungle and Praxis comments, I haven't heard em, but respect all musicians regardless of whether or not I like their shit. :)

using the studio recording was my choice, mostly because of the way I film. Metal isn't dead, it's evolving. If your mom screamed at you like this to clean your room, maybe you should seek professional help. Regardless, this was good enough to get signed, so what's your issue? jealousy? Just because they were signed doesn't mean shit. Look at the endless catalogs of garbage the music industry continues to subject the public to. The only reason these kind of bands get signed is simply because someone thought they might be marketable. This has nothing to do with originality or quality. It's crap, get over it, I doubt they'll see more than one EP out of the deal. It's how the industry works. The melodic singer is fucking annoying as hell, he does sound like someone's mom yelling.

everyone's entitled to their opinions. Aside from being signed, these guys are generating far more views per day on their myspace page than most other "national" acts. In addition, they are being invited into some serious studios with producers who have worked in the industry for decades. If you think the singer sounds like someone's mom screaming, then more power to you, but just because you don't appreciate it, doesn't mean it isn't worth appreciating. It sounds like you need to get over it.:)

I don't give a fuck..they do play and perform well. However, DUMBASS, they have no originality. I've been listening to every type of metal there is since I was 12. Their sound is generic and, for lack of better term, cheesy. The lyrics are poorly written, and every damn riff is ripped off of another band. Iight DEQR what makes u think these guys have no talent. the have musical talent their drummer is the shit and their bass and guitar players are good to and they have 2 vocalists. They have a unique sound because their singer can sing very good he is on point with pitch and tone and he can go high and low AND he can scream which is an up because most metal NOT HEAVY but metal singers cannot sing on tone like that.
