Not that it really matters what it means (the song is awesome) but, the reason for the line "are we human or are we dancer" is because of a quote saying that we are breeding a generation of dancers, I would guess that the song is about this new species who are dancer (like we are human). The song suggests that "Dancers" have little or no humility, hence the third verse about grace, virtue and good..and that they are 'taking over' by changing humans who are less than desireable in to dancers

@sfedden i definitely agree with you, but i think that more than having no humility, 'dancers' are a particular species who have no control over their own actions. just like dancers move to particular instructions from a choreographer, these are people who can't think for themselves and simply go through the motions, doing what people in authority tell them to do. as a result, they have lost what it means to be human: to think for yourself and have real virtues.
