I was not at all offended by this grave (which I saw in person a few weeks ago). In fact, I was deeply moved, almost to tears. The epitaph reads, "To our great friend, Ricardo. Died too soon. young, beloved and beautiful. June 10, 1952-September 2, 1989." 1989 was the height of the AIDS epidemic, so I'm taking an educated guess that Ricardo had AIDS. And he was probably a cat lover.
"mort trop to" means dead too soon? makes sense why the headstone is so cartoonish. although i think he was older than eight, the head stone says 10 juin 52 - 21 Sept 69 or 89 i cant tell if it is a 6 0r an 8 either way he would have been either 17 or 37, both could be considered too soon i guess....hmmm weird
i love ian's reaction...and you can hear how serious he is by the way he says "look at that" ....thats too much..ima read a short story and go to bed..
