@kiman9000 Trust me i used to siy in front of my tv with the original bdz series as a kid. I though kai was ok but there were definately some things done that i prefered in kai, but for the most part kai let a lot of what could have been epic moments, die too quickly. This scene in particular i didnt get that chill when gohan screamed. But if it showed the full 4 mins of transforming it would have been a different story.

Colleen's voice is not suitable for teen gohan. Her kid Gohan fits better tho. overall I would say her voice is limited to female characters because if heard her real voice, its sexy. Stephanie was GREAT as SS2 Gohan. but her Kid gohan wasnt suitable for 5 year old, but it was still good. I would cast Colleen for kid gohan and Stephanie for teen gohan

@FilMarck ............i know. but the voice actor didn't even TRY to sound like a little boy. she just straight up sounds like an adult woman. you can't even have the excuse of 'he's 11 and therefore hasn't gone into puberty yet' because even if that were true, little boys SOUND LIKE LITTLE BOYS. they have a different voice tenor than girls even before they hit puberty. it's just not as obvious until teen years. the voice actor just straight up didn't figure this out.

Kai, the japanese version, and the manga were all about emotion not being badass with men with muscles flying around and shooting beams<----- Thats how people interpret DBZ because of the original english version.

@newyears912 Yeah i love kai, but this one didnt have as much emotion as the japanese version but a little better than the english in my opinion. What made this one not so good was the music placing, tamashii vs tamashii (spirit vs spirit gohans ssj2 theme) would've fit way better. I loved the orignal english one but the music in that one just made it sound like a techno power up and had no emotion, but the voice did.

I could see why they would replace Spirit vs. Spirit when they featured a new musical score. But when it turned out that the new composer was plagiarizing, and thus they reverted to the old score, I don't understand why they replaced Spirit vs. Spirit with some ho-hum piece of work. Spirit vs. Spirit made the scene unforgettable, and I haven't talked to any fan who didn't love the song. Why is everyone so intent on diminishing one of the best scenes from the show?

Either way, the song would have just been too fast for the Kai scene, the timing is way off to use it, but at the same time, if I had no other option, I would use Spirit vs Spirit and make it work somehow :/

@TBAGNFACEFUKER This hasn't anything to do with Funimation. All the music replacement for Kai is done by Toei themselves (the Japanese DVD's have the Kikuchi soundtrack too). The reason they couldn't use Spirit vs Spirit was because it was done by Kenji Yamamoto, the same guy who they fired for plagiarism in the original Kai soundtrack.(While Kikuchi made most of the background music for Z, Yamamoto did some of the vocal songs for Z)

While most of the old background music was created by Kikuchi, some of the old vocal songs were arranged by Kenji Yamamoto.
