it takes 10+ hours to walk from one end to the other of the island. You can try it in the latest dlc for the console version out now. Two missions are focused around exploration of the island. :)

Be sure you activate them when you order a move or follow. Make sure they get "yellow" as you command them. And good luck Powder trail was a BITCH. Tip: save Heat for your SMAW to take out the choppers comming in as you evac, and save the barrage your get to take our the armor comming about late stages.

Actually on this game 1 shot is all it takes to kill you they explain in one of the dev. diaries I think that a headshot kills you instantly a shot to the throat or heart can kill you instantly. Then richochets and hits to other parts of the body cause you to "Bleed Out". It's the same for the AI so you need to check your fireteam after a firefight for bloodstains and can prompt them to strap up.

Actually the first shot shouldn't do anything more than a hole in the barrel causing petrol to leak out. But when you fire another round at the leaked petrol = BOOOOM :D (provided you hit something hard, thus creating a little spark and some heat)

Well, there would be a spark but outside the barrel with no petrol there yet, I think. I mean, the bullet hits the barrel and creates a hole in it and a spark but the petrol starts to leak out after that (like 1/4 second or sth after the spark). What do you think?

A spark could flash inside the barrel as the bullet passes through. I have never tested it as I live in the UK and using a gun gets you 5 years in jail. Even if all you are doing is testing out if computer games are realistic.

I have seen this tested in real time, using standard bullets in most cases would not ignite the fuel only when a phosporus tiped tracer round was fired into it, it ignited on the first shot so depending on the bullet being used determens how many shots are needed to make the Boom.

that guy squatting down behind the barrier atop the hill should be able to see the player and react to his precense..

he is basically looking straight at the player when he gets to that point..

but.. it might be really really easy AI on that particular mission to not get the guy playing not seem like a total noob:-P
