wow, Im very good with the modern day FMC but decided to learn a some INS and this is actually quite cool. One question, with the waypoints nowdays they have names like "LAMSO" etc and these INS systems use Coordinates. Do the coordinates come from the ones with the names like "LAMSO" and if so how do we find those coordinates in the flight planning process?
is it possible to put all waypoints from a route into the INS nav? I dont want to change it all the time I just want to put all 30 or 40 waypoints directly into the INS..is it possible ?
@AintNuthin1991 look up "con2adeu" on avsim or flightsim it lets you load 9 waypoints at once into each ins which then means you can load upto 27 waypoints at a time
Great tutorial! I got a question, If you have more than 9 waypoints do you just enter the 9 and wait until you get to the 9th waypoint and go back to 0 and enter the rest (in the air of course)?
This tutorial is great. I spend hours trying to learn how to use the INS, read lots of PDFs and practiced allot to understand how to use it. I wish I had found this tutorial earlier. I am now using the INS without problems, but judging on my experience I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS TUTORIAL TO OTHERS, especially beginners.
Great video absolutelly fantastic tutorial! Thanks a lot. But I have a problem: I'm using this INS on my Flight1 727 and during the align process, only the INS 2 goes to 5, the INS 1 stops at 65. Any suggestions?
yes - but you won't be able to change it, waypoint 0 defines your current position... after alginment it will automaticly become the current position and thereafter always change with every positionchange you do!

How do you change the waypoint from say N5060 into that longer waypoint like N56135 W30017 for example?

Very good video ... just a question, do you need to let the WAYPOINT 0 in blank ?

Can you put 9 way points on one CDU and other nine on the other. Like having 18 waypoints to follow?
benfalas 2 years ago
yes that's possible

I think you need at least 2 autopilot channels for nav to work. I may be wrong though.

Oops I didn't realise that this INS in FS9 is coupled to heading select.
