  • I cannot get enough of Gary Oldman's character in this film. He's brilliant.

  • Take 'Only Fools and Horses', 'Eastenders' and 'The Royle Family', put them together, and you've got this!

  • Such a good film...it's heartbreaking to see the pressure put on the family and how they are struggling to find work....

  • Perhaps if they spoke English they might get work. I think I hate Mike Leigh.

  • Piss off you black bastard... God times have changed to much :/

  • i wish coxy was my friend

  • Oh my, this movie looks brilliant so far. I just watched High Hopes and loved it but this one looks even more promising. Thanks for posting.

  • "we're not talking about your jobs, we're talking about our jobs"

Mike Leigh is a national treasure.

  • wow the family looks alike, I think

  • Everybody was kung-fu fighting!

  • You actually spot on! Thatt IS pre-Hollywood repertory actor Tim Roth

(Met him in '81 We were going to an Art Studenty party...On the bus he gave me the advice that the violinist I was doing music with should "wear a short skirt to bring in the customers" What a lad!

  • NHS? wats that

  • This film is absolute genius!!

  • @ 3:12 that fence is still bent like that to this day.And that pub only just shut down last month and reopened as a new flash one.

  • where abouts is the fence, what part of london is it filmed to?

  • Hackney, near Broadway Market- that's where the fence is! The whole area's gone upmarket though.

  • Both Tim and Gary are two talented and brilliant actors!!!

It's interesting to see them acting the opposite character in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.

  • Mike Leigh's films are so gritty and depressing, but they are observant. I'd much rather watch this than most of the garbage that gets shown in mainstream cinemas these days.

  • If you like this you'll like gary oldmans own film from 97 called nil by mouth.

  • Very good drama, i own this, very touching roth is very convincing.

  • This Movies good,SOOO Bleak! Very cold!! It even looks really cold weather wise!

  • Gary Oldman is great, he's been good since the start.
