first of all the fight was even as hedman slammed ruslan's head into the boards and kept going after him so ruslan got pissed enough to drop the gloves and they just lost balance, the ref's should have got them to move out and have a good clean fight.

Hedman checked Fedetenko to the head TWICE before the fight even happened.

And then hedman doesn't even get his helmet off. If anyone was in any danger of being injured, it was Fedetenko. Sonic is displaying homerism at its worst.

I was at the game. That fight was a long time coming.

Fedetenko stopped swinging before the ref had him pinned. You don't stop swinging until you are on ice.

If you honestly think that was life threatening, you haven't seen a lot of hockey fights. The hits were mostly landing on his mask. Hedman's helmet didn't even come off. Fedetenko was in more danger, if you want to be a nitpicky hippie about it.

you dont keep hitting a player once he falls down and is unable to fight back, that was wrong and you can seriously injure someone for life like Fedotenko was doing to Hedmen, I have lost all my respect I had for him and he doesnt deserve to play in the NHL if he is going to try to hurt people like that, its just not right.
