This happend to me the other day.

I was putting up signs about a child who was abducted by authorities, because parents wanted to homeschool (see my profile) and a couple just got totally mad:

"You are putting up garbash on public areas, you´re not allowed to do that, child abduction isn´t the end of the world...."

oh. ok. But putting up important signs "illegally" in public places is?

1984 is a George Orwell book about the government controlling the population with cameras and information control. Big Brother is everywhere today. We are rapidly losing our freedoms. Cops scan 1000s of plates a day with those new video cameras mounted on patrol car roof tops. The government especially under Bush and Obama want more control and information on the Public.

I agree with you 100%. Nothin' wrong with nuclear bombs. So I don't understand why I can't buy a couple through our local black market. Nothin' wrong with guns either -agreed. Everyone over 16 should be allowed to own them. And nothing wrong with video surveillance cameras either. But here's the thing that causes me wonderment. Usually the same people who see no problem with nuclear bombs, guns and surveillance cameras see nothing wrong with them in the hands of government.

I really admire the SCP, they are brave. there are too many surveillance cameras, and too many people who seem to forget or not even know about the dangers may be consequences of relying too fully on surveillance... and people are surprisingly vicious these days, how can you call legitimate protesters, who are not obstructing a public conveyance, who are not breaking the law in slightest, true assholes?

Your performance elicited an obvious and predictable response from the NYC Police; that's hack. NYC Police care nothing about your "political" statement, only about obstructing a public conveyance. You could have waved an American flag and showered an effigy of George Bush with rose petals and their response would have been the same.
