The Hard Drives used in cars are specially made models. It's a laptop size HDD but made to handle the torture in an automotive environment. Segate and Toshiba have made 80 GB automotive HDD's but they are only used in BMW's.

Hmm I find it funny how I can seem to buy a good running land rover discovery 1997 or so for around $1000 while a similar jeep of year and milliage goes for around $2500.

I actually had the chance to buy a very nice repo land rover disco for $700 last year absolutly nothing wrong and good interior. I didn't because I just bought my car I'm driving now.

Nothing against Land Rover I would buy one used defiantly but they aren't better than Jeep.

totally agree. the technology package in the Land Rover is nowhere near what you get in a Jeep. Jeep still uses the antiquated automatic transmissions, and most Jeeps that do real off-road have to be heavily modified. To be fair, Jeep is heading in the right direction with the next generation Grand Cherokee.

Well we dont have to wait for the 2011 Grand Cherokee and enjoy it dude , the Range is perfect right now and as is and its not about how it looks its whats under the hood and whats there , My brother got one its like a plane on wheels dude , the interior is dead crazy, its an amazing car and really worth its money . The new Grand Cherokess may look nicer than the current version but there's still no comparison between a Jeep and a Range.

I really cant believe people are trying to argue with you on this point, Range Rover are the pinnacle of Luxury 4x4 and Jeep.... well it's part of a collapsing antiquated company run by a bunch of imbeciles. A few gimmicky techno waffle added to the Jeep does not make it an equal to a very capable off roader, that has the luxury that it does.

Dude I dont think any of them ever drove a Luxury car thats why they talk like that and defend the Jeep lol , One you drive a benz , Bmw or a Range Rover you'll never think of driving an american car AGAIN Period. well if you put a hard drive with platters on the road it would not last as long as it would in a desktop computer b/c of the different environment. but i'm sure that the land rover engineers know that.

uhhhhh... It would last plenty long. computer harddrives are not as fragile as you think. All it needs is a 30GB 4200RPM mobile harddrive, or hell, even one of the drives used in the ipod. It would last a long time.

land rover is a cool car but its not the best luxury car. There prices are insane and their interior are not that good looking. Audi, bmw, mercedes, and lexus have to be the best. My mom has always gotten a lexus and I just got a volvo and they are amazing, great looking, and last a very long time.
