aim down the sight for more accurate shots, not so much hip firing with assault rifles (hip fire with submachine guns and shotguns and some machine pistols), take off the thermal sight bc it doesn't work the best with assault rifles, and with the painkiller occurrence when you died... just knife him and painkiller won't matter :)... but all in all im glad to see your still enjoying yourself :)

in your way of playin' you should rather use a silencer, red dot sight or the holographic sight instead of the thermal, the thermal is making worse for your accuracy and it then gets harder to kill people. even though you fire long range sometimes it's better with red dot or holographic. but you use thermal when your only are supposed to do long range :) hope this helps and i might be wrong, this is just my opinion :D

the thermal scope is good for longer distances but if u remeber ur video on skidrow when u were downstairs in that hallway and enemies came close to u u werent able to shoot straight because the theraml restricts close quarter shooting. It is made for longer shots. I've found that taking longer and burst firing shots with the thermal is the best way to utilize it.
