Julianne's performance makes "Charley" to be another iconic role. It's sad she didn't get the recognition she deserved. Her supporting actress slot was robbed by Maggie Gyllenhall's average performance that year.

For Julianne Moore not to even receive a nomination is a crime. She should have won. She is the real deal. Why does the Academy reward the flashy roles instead of the beautiful subtle performances?

This actress is outstanding in any performance. She is superb, never over acts, authentic, classy and brilliant. Moore is a very complete actress and a rare talent. Like Meryl Streep, both are authentic American actresses adept at portraying contempory characters.

@ivannamne I doubt you'd find any sources online - anywhere, until the DVD is released which is, quite sadly, sometime in JULY :(
I feel for you. I was dumb enough to choose Shutter Island over this on the final day of its showing in the cinemas :( I regret.

OMG. I am so excited to see this. Probably the first thing I HAVE to watch. I wanted to see Avatar, and UP and Wolfman ... but none of them seemed to draw me out of my house enough to make me bother. But this .... I'd take a day off work just to watch it! lol.

I'm glad Julianne Moore didn't get nominated for an Oscar. Not being nominated at all, I think, is better than being repeatedly nominated and not winning.

What's more she actually did a decent 60s English accent, how many other Americans with noms have ever succeeded in a semi-decent English accent and put on a fantastic performance?
Great film, btwm thoroughly recommend it to anyone with plans to go, and even more strongly to those with no plan =D
