I love riding my fixed, but after seeing two friends die and watching a few people get maimed, I'd ask you to rethink the no brakes thing.

The front brake gives over 70% of a bike's stopping power, and weighs about a pound. The whole set-up costs $40 brand new, and you change brake pads once a year at a cost of $4.

Skip-stops are good to know, but doing it long term can damage your knees, which cost a hell of a lot more to fix. Nevermind the wear on your drivetrain and tires from skidding 24/7
