For what it's worth, I have a great dane. I had 2 before and lost one to bloat. I don't know about other breeds but the stomach of a great dane is not attached to the ribs. It hangs free. The problem happens when they want to play and have just finished eating. The stomach swings freely and gets tangled in the intestines. Only way I know of preventing bloat is not to exercise your dog until he has digested his food, Make him take a nice long nap. Do not exercise him on a full stomach!

It's true. Feeding from an elevated bowl can increase the risk of bloat. All you have to do is ask a vet, or you can google it. I fed my huskies from an elevated bowl, and my male got bloat. I was lucky in that I recognized the symptoms, and got him the the vet asap, and was able to save his life.

Feeding with an elevated food bowl has been shown to INCREASE chances of bloat. I would not recommend using an elevated food dish.

It is about 50$ for a 28lb bag. Which is steep, but he eats half the amount of what he would eat on sceince diet, and almost 1/3 if he were to eat Dog Chow. It is more densely packed with nutrients and less corn/flour based fillers. He weighs 90lbs, and he eats a mere 2 cups per day, plus about 1/3 can of wet food. So, it costs more, but 28lbs goes a long way considering he would have to eat 6 cups of the econ. The wetfood varies by what I see at the moment. See the description. Good luck!

Wow my Dobermans eat like crazy especially the new pup well she is 1 year with 5 or 6 moths but she is still a pup cuz dobermans aren't adults until they are 2 years old. I will try this food bowl how much was it?

and how much is the food that you are feeding your dogs where can I buy it?

is it good quality food?

It is 15.99 i believe, link in sidebar to amazon. The dry food i feed is INNOVA EVO Large Breed, (orange bag.) I'm sure if you research it you will find it is one of the highest quality food products on the market. Only human grade ingredients are used, and it is 100% grain free, based on the evolutionary diet of dogs. It is about 50$ for a 28lb bag.
