  • Primo Levi was also a great writer, I cherish his books. They are a MUST READ, so honest and true. GOD BLESS YOU PRIMO LEVI, MAY YOU AT LAST REUNITE WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO WERE LOST IN WWII. I LOVE YOU.

  • Massive thanks for this clip fgrilli! Eagerly waitng for the other parts.

  • i highly recommend the excellent film 'Primo Levi's Journey,' which retraces Levi's journey through Europe.

  • he is amazing. I know he is no longer with us but I feel compelled to use the present tense nevertheless. Thank you for the translation.

  • thank you for publishing it although partially

  • i'm reading the brilliant periodic table

Levi just gives off this highly moral image of a man in his books

  • @UntoldBillions you would be funny if you weren't so....unwell.

  • @UntoldBillions sad pathetic individual you are. Living in your own fantasy world, spitting bile at the world. The only saving grace is your stupidity is on display for all to see. A rabib little anti-semite. The genocide of European Jewry by Nazi germany has been docummented for decades, Tested in Courts (Britian) by Deniers (Irving) like yourself and they lost.

  • polskie kurwy i prosiaki do gazu z wami

  • @TheTurdTemple I know that you are talking rubbish and strangely enough, so do you !!!!!!

  • Goodness me ! What a load of absolute tosh ! You really need to speak to someone who can help ytou !!!!!

  • The Katyn Forest Massacre is well documented so you do not have to explain it to us. My Grandfather survived Auschwitz so please do not tell me that it is an absurd claim........

  • NOOO dove sono le parti 2 e 3???

  • se vai sul sito di rai sat c'è tutta l'intervista "primo levi torna ad auschwitz" ma non è sottotitolata in inglese

if you go on the website of rai sat there is the interwiev"primo levi torna ad auschwitz",but there isn't subtitle!

  • You are sick in the head

  • Well Mr.Condensed Sicko at least you are aware that you have a problem there is hope in that case.!

  • @CondensedHistory you are talking through your asshole

  • @conman whats your point? 1 ameerican says it did not happen so thats it????? the evidence from victims, perpetrators and people who liberated the camps will do for me.have some respect for the innocent millions murdered by the nazis and quit your bullshit.

  • @CondensedHistory please... we don't need this.

  • Primo era un bravo ebreo

  • Ma dov'è la seconda e terza parte?

  • i need parts 2 & 3 where can i find themmm?

  • pazza razza umana che tristezza

  • Methinks you are the one spousing abusive lies. Lying in the face of overwhelming evidence.

  • Are there any more parts to this?

  • There should be parts 2 and 3 but unfortunately I could't find them yet

  • @fgrilli So why post this incomplete?

  • @erroneousapostrophe sorry, have not been able to find the remaining parts so far.

  • @fgrilli OK. I look forward to seeing more. Just ordered "If This Is a Man"

  • @fgrilli

If you know Italian, the complete program is on the rai.tv website

  • @lcasse Thank you. It was a long time I wished to watch that documentary again. Now I only have to figure out how to grab the video from the rai website :)

  • Comment removed

  • At my school we celebrate "Memory Day" every 27th Jan. and we watched that film and then we read "Se questo e' un uomo" He's a brilliant man, as many other survivors.

  • probally one off the 20th centturies greatest writters sure is my favorite right now

  • you are so on your own

    Hitler

  • This is really cool :)

My 9th grade world history teacher talked about Primo and I decided to look him up.

    Thank you very much!

  • I think anyone who lives in the 20s centry must read or at least to came across one of the two iconic books of the 20s centry.

Man Search for Meaning (Victor Emil Frankl)

If this is a Man (Primo Levi)

  • Please, also read Primo's last work, "The Drowned and the Saved."

  • i read it too.

if this is a man and the drowned and the saved usually going as a one book

  • I have "If this is a man" and "Truce" as one book, and "the "Drowned and the Saved" as a separate work. They are such splendidly written books by a man who saw more than we can ever imagine, aren't they?

  • It is usually comes as a one book. I had both of them, but as a one book. I read them in the library at the school level many many years ago.

  • Thank you very much, can you please post other parts?

  • Hi, you're welcome. I wish could but cannot find them any more. As soon as I'll find them, I'll publish them.

  • MA VERGOGNATI !!!

  • PS : il vergognati è riferito a ORLANDOFURIOSOPRIMO e al suo commento provocatorio!

  • [...] And your dogmatism which does not allow for replying. All these feelings and attitudes seem to me very bad premisses for the truth-seeker. And I'll be wrong but I seem to recognize some of Adolf Hitler's own ideas and style in your arguments.

  • What strikes me most about the "arguments" and "facts" you negationists put forward is not much their contents which sometimes could even have some truth in it (for example it is not clear exactly how many Jews were murdered in the Lager, some say 6 millions, maybe they're less, maybe they're more but that does not change the substance of what the Lager has been). What strikes me most is the anger, I would almost say the hatred with which you speak about your truth. [...]

  • Are you really sure that the Shoah never happened and that it's all propaganda? Not the slightest doubt? Where are the millions of Jews who lived in Europe? All died of famine and epidemics? Is it possible that thousands of witnesses from the survived Jews, the Russian and allied soldiers and many Germans about the extermination camps all fundamentally agree? And that they all keep on lying coherently for more than 60 years? Who is the organizer of the most colossal hoax in history?

  • Disgusting ? The truth is always inconvenient.. It is hard for you to miss unless you are blind or more likely mentally challenged.

  • thank you so much for this video. i'm italian and i've never seen levi in video. listening to his voice here has been an emotional experience: see, i've read many of his books... primo levi is an outstanding figure to me. where can i see the rest of this documentary? thank you again.

  • You're welcome. I'm trying to find the two remaining parts, subtitle them and add them here.

  • As far as I know there is no evidence about this alleged new book by Levi.

  • Why on earth should the Mossad kill Levi? In 1986, one year before his death, he published his last book "The drowned and the saved" where certainly he did not deny the Shoah. I can only admit that the circumstances of his death are still unclear and the suicide hypothesis doesnt seem fully convincing.

  • I have only just been introduced tto Levi and the things he writes, and am hoping to read all of his books... what astounds me is his beatiful prose and almost analytical way of wrtiing, he does not write in a way that exaggerates or criminalises the people of auschwitz, he simply writes what he has seen in an almost detatched way,,, i think the way he doest judge the people who have forced him through so much is magnificent, and reading through the comments people share the opinion!Amazing!thnx

  • Primo levi is italian..

  • yes, this should be self-evident to anyone watching this video :) Anyway a compatriot to be proud of.

  • Thanks so much for posting and for adding the subtitles.

  • i cannot begin to imagine what that guy must have felt going back to auschwitz

  • i love primo levi and have an amazing amount of respect for him

  • He was a gift.........I still after reading his book find it heard to believe that a man forgive the German people he encountered after Auschwitz

  • Wow, this thread is quite tame compared to what one can read on the other Primo Levi threads. Not a single post here advocating Holocaust denial! Must be a miracle!

  • Thank you.

  • Now for some positivity...

Primo Levi is my idol, I'd like to thank you for putting this video up because so far I've only been able to find it in Italian and I'm not used to Levi's very fast speech :P

Have you put up parts two and three yet?

  • Hi, sorry but I still have to subtitle the other two videos. Hope to do it soon. In the meantime, if you haven't done yet, you could read the whole English transcription of this interview (see url in the top right box. For some weird reason, youtube won't allow me to post it). As to Levi's speech, sure he speaks rather fast, but I can assure you that, having myself learnt English and German, any foreign language sounds like a hubbub spoken at the speed of light to a non native speaker ear :)

  • Yes...please put them up. I am studying Levi at uni and this is fascinating. Thank you so much for posting it and doing the work for adding subtitles

  • I'm writing an essay on Levi as we speak but I'd love to be able to be actually 'studying' him...none of my subjects offer this :(

    He's great isn't he? :D

  • A great writer... the course I am doing is part of Anthropology.. and its on Race and Ethnic Relations.. and the main focus has been racism,... very interesting stuff

  • Hi deebee2323, you're welcome :) I'm afraid I wont be able to finish my work anytime soon because I can't find the other two videos! I got the first one from youtube and added the subtitles, but then the user who posted them has disappeared and I foolishly forgot to download them all. I tried to search again for them anywhere but, alas, with no luck so far.

  • What utter rubbish!

Primo Levi, Anne Frank, Livia E. Bitton Jackson and Jean Amery just for starters would not make up such massive lies and got away with it! Face it, Nazism is dead, Hitler is dead and the Holocaust has never been and NEVER will be a lie! Please explain where 6 million lives went if the Holocaust is fake?

Use your Nazi ruined brain and see sense!

  • Other wise, besides jew holocaust be true, we had - 30 millions in congo, we have - chechens, bosnian - and we will have another holocausts. Peace it is only a truce.

  • I'm on your side mate...(Y)

  • I will assume you truly believe what you wrote, so I won't remove your post as spam. You really don't know anything about Primo Levi. First of all, the tone of his prose in all of his books about the Lager is far from being hateful or rancorous. Quite the contrary, it's lucid and almost scientifically detached. He had nothing against the German people (read, "The drowned and the saved"). He earned his living working as a chemist for his entire life. (continue...)

  • He reluctantly became a full-time writer only when he retired. You should really read Primo Levi's books and some serious history book before writing such nonsense.

  • Please, before you said he killed himself out of guilt for lying about the Lager, now you say he was killed by the Mossad. People close to Levi said he committed suicide because of personal and familiar problems, though it's always hard to say with certainty why one person would took his life. The theme of guilt, included that of those who survived the Lager, like Levi himself, sure is present in his books but it's psycologically very complex and has nothing to do with false Jewish propaganda.

  • It's much more probable he died accidentally. He left no suicide note, and as a chemist, he could have found a much less violent means of self-destruction than throwing himself over a banister.

Rudolf Hoess, Adolf Eichmann; key architects of the mass murder of the Jews, both testified to the scale of the human destruction of the Holocaust. The empirical evidence is overwhelming.

At any rate, you are clearly an unapologetic Nazi with whom rational argument is a forlorn endeavour.

  • "Jew communists"? Stalin did a pretty thorough job in kicking Jews out of every position of power in the Soviet Union. By the time he used the former Nazi camps, there were no Jews in command to have any say on the matter.

There were no Jews behind it all, there is no Jewish conspiracy.

Stop twisting history to the taste of Hitler. Both Hitler and Stalin were Judeophobes. And hey were both real evil.

  • That is what you holocaust deniers are. Wait for the surviving victims to die. Then slander them.

Well the dead can't defend themselves.

6 million can no longer present their case

    Shame on you

  • "The Drowned and the Saved" should be taught in every school. Thankyou for posting this film.
