  • Ariel is a International name

  • She sounds sadder in this version :(

  • this version is just as beautiful as the english one :)

  • her voice is so passionate and emotional!! loved it.

  • It's beautiful ..

  • danish is the best version - this fairytale was originally written by a dane!

  • Her voice and the language give me shivers.

  • Hebrew is such a diverse and beautiful language!

  • french version is the best . sorry :p

  • @missfuruba bof je préfère en ébreux

  • amazing!! the Hebrew version is great just as much as the English one!! seariously!! :)

  • So beautiful. Such an amazing language and this video will help expand my Hebrew vocabulary! =D

  • What does "good afternoon" mean in Hebrew?

  • What does "Good afternoon" mean in Hebrew and how is it written?

  • "Achar HaTzaharaim Tovim"

I hope I did it right..

  • Tzohora'im Tovim; can't find it in hebrew script, a slighty more thorough search than mine might turn it up.

  • @ecyor0 here it is in Hebrew צהריים טובים

  • I really want this song on my computer... is there any place that i can download it without buying a whole version of the little mermaid in hebrew? I mean, that would be awesome... but... im 14. please reply!~

  • This is so awesome!! Lol it's funny listening to a song you know so well in English in another language!! :) I speak hebrew (lol not so well though XD) so it's kinda fun to follow along. :D She has a beautiful voice though, I love it!!

  • The voice of Ariel is very beautiful ^^ !

  • @maayanona

  • @maayanona

  • @maayanona

  • @maayanona

  • @MrGriefshire

  • I come from an agnostic mother and a jewish father, and I have always wanted to adopt the jewish faith and customs. this is actually what helped me start learning hebrew. i memorized this video, and learned what they meant, and now I'm taking formal classes. i really wanted to thank you for posting this video because not only was this my favorite childhood movie, but it's also helped me do something wonderful.

  • Good 4 u!!!!!!! Props. Yea I would like to learn this language as well....

  • If someone asked me in one word to describe ariel, it would be hard for me. I am at a cross between PASSION & the word LONGING.

  • Well, if you feel like being a little archaic, the word "passion" originally meant "pain", (Hence, Passion of the Christ), and then evolved to mean the kind of emotions that are almost painful; such as love, longing etc. So passionate sums her up quite succinctly.

  • I agree with you, and It is really rare for me to agree with anyone on youtube. ;D

  • @ecyor0 passion didnt mean pain, passion means intense emotion - most often these days, it's used to refer to romance :)

  • @Shanniquitie no no, the original latin word really did mean pain/suffering, and then came to mean intense emotion later on.

  • @ecyor0 ohhh ic, thanks!

  • 1:52 is my favorite part nearly brings you to tears. I can't speak hebrew or anything but this version is sooooooo reminesant to Jodi's version. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. Who sings it?

  • @TRISAND he name is Shulamit Aharoni. what is the name of the Original Ariel?

  • @limori84 Jodi Benson

  • @limori84 Ariel is her name origionally too

  • This Jewish version rocks hard also!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Jodi will always be my favorite but this version just takes the cake also.

  • gah what a passion ariel has. I can just see the longing in her eyes. Its amazing, an amazing movie. My #1 movie of all time.

  • be4 the song:

    fish: Ariel are you okey?

Ariel: if i could only explaine. i see things in a diffrent form from him. how could a world with such a beautiful things, can be bad?

    song:

Ariel: just look. here they are all, a wondeful collection every item is perfect, and then you'll say that i'm the only one who has everything in the world. here is the treasure, that is my treasure, you didn't believed that is possible, but then i will say, yes.

  • that is the place of my hapiness. games and dolls from every color, and a very strange things. do you want radambalaboos? their is alot! but i will ask more and more. i want to be with the humans, want to see how to dance with two, how do they walk on.. what its name? oh feet! with flippers i will never could dance, to walk i need foots, and to walk on the.. what's that world? street.

  • their they r walk, their they are run, their they are running around in the sun, and i want too, that is my wish to be with them what i wouldn't give if i could just be outside the water, alot i will pay to a full day on a warm beach. in the land all the girls are certainly free as the wind i'm already tired, i dont have power, i just want to stand

  • . I'll learn in the books, from the wisdom of authors. i will ask questions that's how i will pump a knownledge. what is burning here, in the middle of the candle, what's the world? fire! i will just ask to be with them, to float above the waves of the water. out od the sea, in their world, of the humans

  • I grew up with the hebrew version of the little mermaid, and I have always thought that she has got such a beautiful voice, as you say in hebrew - kol paamonim (her voice is like a bell).

As I grew older, I watched it in the english version to try the authentic one, and I felt disappointed about it I mean, is this the best you could do? Is that the most beautiful voice in the sea? It can barely reach the level of the hebrew one.

  • Disney hebrew versions have so much magic in them, beginning with the formal fixed language, so that kids would learn the hard grammar, and so on with voices which really fit the characters.

I think we can be proud of the talents we have in our country. They did a great job on that one!

BTW - I recommend watching the reprise.

  • This version is absolutely gorgeous, her voice is like heaven.

  • what a beautiful voice

    que hermosa voz!

  • thanks, i didn't see you allready mentioned the name of the singer ;-)

(I posted the question two seconds ago, so it probably will be online in a sec.)

  • Can you also post the meaning of the Hebrew/ English lyrics into English? Thanks!!

  • Hebrew versions---> all others

Wish I had time to learn it.

  • I love This Movie So Much!!

  • I love hebrew soo much

    amazingggg !!! 1

  • first if all - great song and thanks for the post!

Second, you have some errors in the transliteration on the right: Not"etbonen", "Rak hitbonen"

Not "ma hamila hazot" the first time, should be"Ech kor'im leze?"

Not "lezug raglaeem" - "Michutz lamayim"

Not "ve'eshal kach eda" - "ve'eshav kach yeda"

  • I like it. She sounds neither too young nor too old, but I think the voice could be a bit stronger and steadier.

  • Very beautiful song. Can anyone tell me what means "mitrozetzim"?

  • run around

  • to run quickly :)

  • Thanks a lot for your answers :-).

  • This has GOT to be one of my top five favorite versions of this song!!

  • Love it!!:) (also English and Italian version)

  • For people who dont know, Ariels name is Hebrew.

  • yes longman718 Ariel its a hebrew name (:

  • He he...

  • YES LONG MAN WE ALL KNOW

  • u know, most western names are from the bible, wich makes them hebrew or a veriasion of hebrew names :P

  • Thats nice. I just noticed that my family name (which is "Zeltser") is actually a Hebrew name! Im so lucky!

Zeltser? I don't think that is Hebrew

  • Yes it is. Ok maybe its Yiddish.

  • Lol, ok =P

  • @longman718 mean lion of G.od

  • @longman718

Ariel is a Hebrew name, true, but I suspect the movie makers got the name Ariel from a Shakespeare play. (The Tempest.) Jafar's pet bird is also named after a Shakespeare character.

  • @longman718 Yeah, but in hebrew its a boys name....

  • @taliakai and a girl's

  • Comment removed

  • @longman718 For people who don't know, Ariel is a laundry detergent in germany.

  • @isabellalovescookies

    In Poland, too. :)

  • @regerabit :D

  • @isabellalovescookies well, it's a worldwide detergent.. made in Germany

but Ariel - is a Hebrew name originally which was loan to many languages like many European names which were loan from Hebrew

  • @Iluminato19 you're right ^^

  • @longman718

Originally Hebrew, but also French and English.

  • This is really great, her singing is sensational

  • Can anyone please translate that part:

    TKS!

  • The uploader has mistake:

What wouldn't I give in order to visit outside the water.

I will pay a lot to stay a whole day within warm sand.

"Ba yabasha kol ha banot bevadai hofshiot kmo ruach":

On land, all the girls are probably free as wind.

"Kvar nimaas li, en li koach, rotsa laamod!":

I'm sick of it, I'm lack of strength. I want to stand!

  • theres a little mistake in the lyrics you wrote, it should be "ma lo eten eem rak ezdamen mihootz la maim"

    and the transalation:P:

what whouldn`t I give if I only had the chance to be out of the water(/I would give anything if I had the chance to be out of the water)

I`ll pay a fortune for a whole day on a hot sand,

on the land all the girls are probebly free like the wind,

I`m tired of this, I have no strength, I want to stand"

  • what wouldn't I give to have a pair of legs

i will pay a lot of money for one whole day on a warm sand

on the land all of the girls are probably as free as the wind

i've had enough, i'm powerless, I wanna stand!

there you go :) sorry 4 the bad english lol

  • Israel has a very beautiful Ariel!

  • no words :( so beautiful

  • If you pay attention to the side panel, it has the lyrics.

  • I don't think that's what she meant.

  • I ADORE this movie!!

  • Isn't it the same girl who dubs

    Odette from Swan Princess?

  • Toda!!! ^^

  • "Michutz" means outside.

  • aw this brings back childhood memories :) Yaffe meod!

  • ...

    Mihuz la yam...

    "Uh..."

    Beolamam...

    Shel bnhey ha adam!

    Whats does Mihuz means?? :D

  • mihuz = michuts = out of :P

  • haha.. they so cute when they ask us 'what means?' ^_^

  • error in lyrics:

the line that says "Ech mehalhim hem al? ma ha mila hazot?"

should say "Ech mehalhim hem al? Ech koreem et zeh?"

  • what do both of the lines mean??

  • i'm not sure of the exact translation. My Hebrew isn't that great, but I can get around just by filling in the words I don't know. I don't know what the first part of the line means (I can assume based on the English version of the song), but the second part of the line, the part I corrected, "ma ha mila hazot" means what is the word? and "ech koreem et zhe" means how do you call this?

  • Yes you're right! I'm not that great with hebrew either, but I think gramaticly wise, the movie was right, in literal translation, it would be a little diferent but tecnecly still corect.

  • Yes you're right! I'm not that great with hebrew either, but I think gramaticly wise, the movie was right, in literal translation, it would be a little diferent but tecnecly still corect.

  • "how do they walk on those... how is it called?...." (and then the song continues "oh, legs!")

  • there is a mistake in the lyrics...

itsnot "em rak ezdamen lezug raglaeem" its "em rak ezdamen mehuts lamaeem"

i just love this song!!! so ncie of a version!

  • You can't compare hebrew and latin languges because it does really came from different sources! The only way you can compare the hebrew language to the latin language is by the accent. because the israeli-hebrew accent is really effect of the latin languages...

  • ...you can use אחותי = (my) sister

  • Could you post the lyrics in Hebrew letters, please?

  • I don't particularly like the language, but the singer must have one of the most beautiful voices of Disney. It's just... so fresh. Clear. ^^

  • sounds a little like a blend of french and german

  • beautiful

  • anyone got the lyrics 4 this version? its beautiful! i love the turkish version too (o dunyada)

  • God's people have a beautiful language :]

  • do you have the translation, i always love to see what the foreign versions translate as, some of them are very beautiful, and as good as the original english

  • sounds better than some of the other versions i've listened to so far:) some were so far off from the english version it was nuts.

  • this is ne of the most beautiful languages in the world. and this song is soooo pretty too.

    <3

  • The song of my childhood

  • I just have to say that in Israel they take the PERFECT people to do the voices for the animations.I've seen it in The Lion King,Mulan,Aladin etc etc.Disney can't pick the right people for some reason...

  • Hebrew is a beautiful language. Japanese is more easier for me. Korean is the hardest though. -_-

Oh, but Spanish is beautiful if you really listen to some things. You just gotta listen.

  • I like the hebrew version but swedish is problebly the beutifulest of them all :D

  • beautiful! could you provide the words? I'd love to learn it, and totally impress my friends!

  • What do you mean "provide"?

    English - Hebrew ?

  • I mean have the words typed out so I can see what they are, and learn to sing along

זה provide/give

    ^_^

  • great. Hebrew is the most beutiful language I ever heard.

  • Hebrew is beautiful language, but for me Japanese is the best language

  • tov maod ani ohevt otah !!! hshira yafeh maod!

  • Everything sounds beautiful in hebrew. I love the language. I have been loving it since the first word I heard.

  • i'm from israel i know hebrew (:

in israel we think that english is the most beautiful language p:

  • i don't think like that.

and i am from israel ;o

  • yea me neither...english is definetly not the best...for me the best are hebrew norwegian and french..

  • me too,i'm from Israel

and i think that french is the best,

even if english is a beautiful language

  • I like Hebrew and I speak English

  • hebrew is definetly the most beautiful language ever..gosh, I wish I could speak it, write it, or whatever..

    I can the alphabet though..lol :D

  • oooh I'd love to have an mp3 version of this, too! And the lyrics (english translation, because it's certainly not the original english text, right?) Can anybody please help?

  • can anyone send this song in mp3 to me??? i cant find it and i really love it!

  • I love every language!

  • ani awhevet havideo shelach. toda raba

  • Shlomit Aharon was also eponine in the israeli production of "les miserables".

I have uploaded her version of "on my own".

It really brings tears to ones eyes.

  • I really like this version, but I'm not sure why some parts annoy me. XD oh well... great version.

    arielle kol ah me'atzbenet!!

    ein kmo meleh ha'arayot! =]]

  • It's very beautiful: the voice and the language. I love Hebrew! :)
