Wow, The one place I didn't think I'd find any arguing, here it is. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel about it. But I can't help but love the music and relax
This simply a timeless classic, meant to be enjoyed over and over again; I know of n other artists whose work has had such a profound impact on music lovers past present and those soon to come. Thanks man.
Thank you for posting. It feels euphoric and almost orgasmic listening to the crescendos and decrescendos of this music. Splendid, fantastic and muy magnifico!
I loved this song when it first came out, and it holds up today as one of the finest songs ever, in my opinion. And yes, it makes you feel so good to hear it! STILL makes me happy when I listen to it.
Don't know if any of you know this but "flügelhorn" is a German word that means "winged horn". Chuck sure does make make it soar the way it's meant to.
@lilhurricanev12 Why do you little idiots feel compelled to announce that you fall outside of a songs original demographic. Everyone likes some old music. You are in no way special.
@thesmellycatjazz There was nothing rude about what I said. Kids nowadays are mollycoddled by their simpering helicopter moms. By the time that they are 12 or 13 years old, they are convinced that A: the world owes them something, and B: that they can do no wrong. Well, guess what. The world outside of your mom's house doesn't give a fuck about you, and it isn't handing out trophies for merely participating.
@Maafa1619 Referring to him [and similar ppl] as "you little idiots" and "You are in no way special" is pretty damn rude. the poor kid was just making a note that unlike is peers, he enjoys good music; bashing him serves no purpose than to be rude. As young adult I defer that most of my peers. I hate pop/rap and I love jazz (so much so that Im majoring in it). If I wanted to share that bit of info on, let's say YouTube on a Chuck Mangione video, I dont see how that makes me a self-centered prick
@thesmellycatjazz See, that's where you are wrong. Plenty of his peers enjoy all varieties of music. Look around Youtube. There are kids who not only listen to good music, but can play it. On the other hand, the sentiment that one should be congratulated for merely liking some piece of music is all too common here. And, I suspect that it's a function of the way American kids are raised nowadays. If they don't wise up, they'll all be working in Chinese salt mines as adults.
@Maafa1619 Hey man, your tampon's dripping. Calm down, after all, you're listening to some very chill music, so why are you so uptight? Just enjoy and keep your shit to yourself.
I used to tune in to the jazz station when I was a high school kid doing my home work. I enjoyed rock and metal too, but jazz made studying a lot easier. Now, 30 years later, I'm finally going to college, guess what I listen to when I study? You got it. Go Chuck!
HE MAY NOT HAVE ANY LYRICS TO SING OUT IN THIS MELODY, BUT HOWEVER, it is better than listening to justine biebtrash music! ;D His "Mistletoe Cameltoe" music video sucked anyway because it was to short, and you could not really hear what the heck the biebs is saying due to his voice change.

This is one of about 4 instrumental tunes to ever go number 1 on the pop charts. You don't need words to have a hit, you just need a really fucking great tune.
when my oldest son (who is now 6yo) was a baby, i'd play this on vinyl and hold him and dance him around the living room. awww, such sweet memories. i love this song!
That upper register playing on flugel = serious chops. This guy had a wonderful range and could really sing through the horn making everything sound sweet.
I didn't even know Chuck Mangione was a real person until last night, I taught he was made up for the King of the Hill show and then I was listening to some smooth jazz on Iheartradio on my iPod and I heard the exact song Chuck plays in the show and see's that he is actually a REAL PERSON lmao.
I remember hearing the radio-edit version in the car all the time as a kid. It's a nice enough tune scaled down, but you can only really appreciate it when you hear the full version.
