  • Patsy is was my idol when I was younger...now...I'm a patsy Cline impersonator.!!

  • Pretty darn cool ! She was sent from above to graceus for a few years. Please checkout rockabillygone all one word for rockabilly originals and oddball covers.

  • THUMBS UP IF YOURE LISTENING IN 2012!

  • Wish I had me a Ladybird to dance with.

  • She taught the world that pop sensibilities could meet with country. A sorely missed artist of the first order

  • (man) lol

  • i'm a old fashion guy have the whole pompador going and my rockabilly look been doing this since i was 14 now i'm 19 and let me say ms cline, if you were alive and my age i would sure have been a lucky an to have known a gal like yourself:) your what started it all well my life. thank you ms. cline

  • You could tell that the other musicians were impressed by this lady.

  • One of my all time favorite vocalists.

  • One of the greatest country artist - love all her songs - thankx to you - PATSY !

  • im 13 and thank god my my p[arients tought me old fasmily valuse i dont cair for hip hoprock and what ever i listene to the 1900 on to 70s patsy is my favrot thogh

  • No wall of sound, no special effects, just pure country voice.

  • I don't know why people have to put someone else down to say they like Patsy. It makes you a superficial immature individual and does not show appreciation or respect for her and her music. Hank Garland, famed nashville session guitarist plays on this and in the final frames you see him seated on the far right. If you listen his guitar playing owes a lot to the jazz players of his time.

  • Man, when the camera zooms in and she gives that pout "I'm lonesome as I can be", it's pure magic. The trash that clogs our airways today like Lady Gaga wouldn't be good enough to be Patsy's replacement backup singer.

  • my fav patsy cline song!!!!

  • I hate that the top rated comment on so many of these videos start with "I'm [insert arbitrary number under 25]"...

  • @Alexdurrant7 I'm 28 and I agree.

  • This is Patsy Cline before she had two rather severe car accidents, which is why her facial appearance later in her too short life was a bit odd.

  • Haha I love how at 0:50 the pianist is like "Dammnnnn!"

  • Patsy makes me smile and sing

  • I guess 16 people have no taste in music.

  • old video sounds like yesterday. shame cant hear it all.

  • it's kind of funny that she didn't like this song at all. She said to was too "pop". which by definition, it is. i just find it funny that she didn't want to sing it originally, and yet it was the song that got her noticed.

  • That's Grady Martin on the doubleneck!!!

  • so rare...

  • Heard this song in the background when Hank was dancing with Lady Bird.. and so i thought to myself... Hey that's Patsy.. And now im here.

  • @chubbychechu2010 i like that episode

  • I'm 21 and the "Country " music of my generation is embarrassing. Patsy is a legend. I listen to Rock and Metal, a handfull of Hip Hop songs, but Patsy will always be a favorite of mine. Thanks Mom

  • @wccfl07 That is the truth!!!!

  • I love these comments from the youngsters! Gives me hope :)@wccfl07

  • On one of Patsy's other videos someone compared her to (shuddering) Taylor Swift (now gagging).........NOT, NEVER, NO WAY!!!!!

  • she's so young and pretty in this video!

  • Patsy was awesome!!! No Doubt About That!! Leanne Rimes however has a very similar texture to her voice as well, and just like Rod Stewart sounds close to the Late Great Sam Cooke, Leanne does a fantastic job and we are blessed to be in her time and enjoy her. Patsy will always be FIRST and in our hearts forever!!! God Rest her Soul, thank you God for letting us have Patsy forever on recording!!!!!

  • @Helga1232

I think the closest to ever really being as good as patsy, actually, was beverly deangelo in coal miners daughter..but she was trying to be patsy, not herself. She did a great job... nobody will ever be as good as Patsy Cline..but close..

  • @TrishaDishaWarEagle You are absolutely right.

  • Does anyone know where I can find an outfit like that?

  • @MookieMang yeah, go back about 60 years...

  • @MookieMang

    yeah, my grandmoms closet :)

RIP Patsy Cline, still the 1 and only.

  • I love this song <3 my mom use to sing it to me as a lullaby when i was a kid :)

  • @JordanneRene they are on the same level , just look at the giutars fendet tele, gibson d-335 ,are you nuts

  • barb s. and pat will shiver your spine!!!!!!

  • i love her

  • @JordanneRene I've never heard that before... i sincerely hope this is the last time i ever do

  • @JordanneRene agreed...even though LeAnne's song "Blue" was intended for Ms. Cline They did have the same ability for high vocal sounds...but other than that, there is no comparisson. (sp)

  • RIP Patsy!!

  • I like how she can just as easy fit in on an MGM movie set. Not a major country fan but this lady looks super classy. *no diss*

  • Does any one else notice how tiny Patsy's waist is? She had a waist to die for.

  • @gotch09 Women wore girdles every day back then, so a woman that had a small waist could make her waist look even tinier when wearing a girdle that would smooth out any imperfections. All the ladies in my family wore girdles back in their time & you were expected to wear one, otherwise you would have an untidy look. Without one, you weren't considered to be dressed properly to leave your house. so, this is why ladies from back in the day always appeared to be more curvier/shapely.

  • @Alina674 Uh,I'm almost 61 years old. I remember girdles, wore one or two myself as a teen.

  • @gotch09 That puzzles me, then why did you make a statement like the one you made? you sounded like you aren't familiar with the those times & the tricks ladies would use to get that hourglass figure with such a tiny waist.

  • @gotch09 How many ways are there to say that I'm 61 years old, and I've wore a girdle or variation a time or 2 myself. All my comment was how tiny her waist was. Nothing to get our shorts in a wad.

  • now that's a real woman

  • @JordanneRene well maybe Trisha Yearwood

  • @JordanneRene le anne has a powerful voice like patsy but doesnt quite have the same voice control . patsy was really somethin

  • @JordanneRene Well, let's be fair-maybe in someone's hallucination they sound the same. Otherwise-hell no.

  • My daughter has this beautiful sound n old soul my nana would be SO proud if she could hear my Fee

  • Now thats Music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ... she has a very small waist, wow.

  • @rudfil its called an hour glass shape! Yeah, thats the kinda I like. Notice, also, she does have a narrow waist, but shes not anorexic. Shes well built.!

  • Thank you momma for giving me good taste in music I love you!

  • 12 People don't go walkin' after midnight

  • @JordanneRene i agree

  • is there a version of this that doesn't skip

  • I'll always remember you and your wonderful songs - R.I.P.

  • @JordanneRene Well they must not no.

  • That happy Piano Player is Owen Bradley, producer and one of the founders of "The Nashville sound" along with Chet Atkins.

  • Yes Ma'aam :)

  • She's one of few that can captivate the ears of metal heads

  • I love how happy the piano player looks! He looks stoked to be playing with her!

  • I like her hair here too... she looks pretty... beautiful voice Patsy!! Her music is played in gangster movies too... that's how awesome her voice was!! Gangsters playing your music when it isn't ghetto is a badge of honor!! :))) J/K

  • I don't even think it sounds like country. She is her own genre.

  • @roysdon and that, my in my opinion, is what's wrong with country music today. Too many country artists today are trying so hard to "sound country" that they fake a Southern accent, and fake a drawl or a twang to try to seem authentic. Got a guy in country music now from Australia, for God's sakes. Notice how Ms. Patsy Cline simply gets up and SINGS THE SONG. What a concept!. Too many people don't know that country music is not about the twang.

  • she was so beautiful and talented. <3

  • What a voice! There will never be another Patsy.

  • @aimeemannfan2010 i agree with you 100%...rip dear lady...1949sorful

  • nobody can hold a candle to patsy. she could make you feel what she was singing about.nobody has come close. k.d.lang could do her songs better than anyone.

  • I'll be 26 next month... and this woman's talent was so incredibly great it crossed generations of listeners - like me - who will always love her music <3 I think that speaks more for her than anything.

  • @JordanneRene i hear ya! no one will ever compare

  • LeAnn Rimes is Awesome. Patsy Cline is Beyond words amazing. Different era's true. When I first heard LeAnn Rimes..it was like WOW! I think it can be fair to say that Patsy Cline is to the late 50's..early 60's..as LeAnn rimes is to the late 1990's.

  • She looks better with her hair longer and not up as in the "crazy" vid. She didnt half make some jems, got a nice funky rhythm this.

  • Has anyone out there got the uncut video off this song? I'd love to hear it.

  • @JordanneRene No, damn way!!! Rimes is NOT even good enough to clean Patsy's shoes!!!

  • this sond touches my heart everytime i listen to it. As i was growing up this was the only tape my grandfather had in his car and we would always rewind this song and sing to it as loud as we could! Since he has passed i just close my eyes and remember the great time we had :) sometimes i do go out walking and listen to it and wonder if he may be watching

    RIP JMG

  • The top female country stars today are nowhere near Patsy's level. Just like with EVERYTHING today, nothing today compares with the past.

  • @JordanneRene both have their own appeal :) love them both

  • No comparison, LeeAnne cant hold a candle to Patsy Cline!!!

  • Le Anne Rimes sounds like she's constipated when she sings; she's awful.

  • leanne who???... please

  • @3909clancy Jeez what an asshole .. clean out your ears!

  • @3909clancy le ann could not brgin to carry even one of Patsy Cline's shoes.

  • Pasty Cline could have chosen any number of musical styles. Her range was amazing. The only contemporary I can think of with her range is k.d. lang

  • I like that. before video killed the radio star was patsy cline. She didn't have to dance around in lingerie to sell records. her voice sold records

  • Beautiful song ,she's so lovely and her voice is amazing !

And singers had soo much talent then that they didn't have to dress slutty and slap on gobs of makeup to sell!

  • Lovely song but shitty dub!Can anyone clean this up?

  • @JordanneRene They do? That's comparing apples and a piece of tree bark.

  • @JordanneRene LeAnne Rimes not even the league of Patsy

  • Thank you for posting this special and historic video. This video displays the talent of some very innovative musicians at a pivotal time without a lot of major studio "handling" . Real music history right before your eyes.

  • when she sings "oot in the moonlight" you can hear her virginia accent slipping in. But many think thats a Canadian thing, lol. In some southern states - particularly Virginia and South Carolina, people say 'oot' and 'aboot'. Its really different sound than the Canadians do because in Canada they say "oat" and 'aboat".

  • sfs

  • you rock on I guess

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu go

  • rip pasty cline

  • Hey, great clip and thanks for the posting.. lovely to see the young Ms Kline but it's a pity you felt it necessary to cut out all the instrumental sections of the song, it makes for a very jumpy vid and an incomplete record. Is that because, as some say here, you find this version too "Jazzy" and not "Country" enough? Patsy was as much a Jazz singer as she was a Country one.. back in the 50s people weren't so stuck on labels maybe.. I'd like to see the clip without the cuts.. Please? Px

  • Patsy....my goodness, were you ever really that young?

A pretty woman and a great voice. Bless you dear lady.

  • Simply one of the greatest country singers - thanks !

  • @JordanneRene I agree. No where close.

  • Only 25 when this was filmed! What a voice!

  • This is a great song, grew up to it as a kid in the 90's hah!

  • @Partyrockk yes she was a very beautiful woman

  • i love patsy cline.

one of my favorite singers, next to johnny cash.

    & loretta lynn.

  • BABY DOLL !!!!

  • Why do people have to bash this generations music to make a point about their generations music? Every generation has had talent. It is possible to like it all. We have Ben Harper today! I like music, including P.C, from all different generations. No need to bash anyone.

  • @Melminn5 youtube needs more comments like that

  • this is a total halloween song for me. so calm, yet creepy in the right setting. always thought this song would fit good with a horror movie.

  • her voice is it. no other country singer has ever topped her. i crank up slayer, guns and roses, etc. in my car but i still have a place in my heart for patsy. she was talented as hell.

  • @jordanretro1 so true.

  • @jordanretro1 i wish i could give this comment 100 thumbs up because this applys to me sooooooo much

  • @jordanretro1 Her and Hank are definitely the definitve King and Queen. Unparalleled talent on every plane.

  • @jordanretro1 well said!

  • @jordanretro1

I'm sorry but I do not agree as I speak for example,a Kitty Wells still the queen of country music.

But also about Norma Jean,Loretha Lynn,Connie Smith,Lucille Starr and the first country lady Patsy Montana.

  • What happened to this? It's been spliced or what? Too bad...what a great bit of history. This is the blues...

  • What happened to this? It's been spliced or what? Too bad...what a great bit of history.

  • beautiful voice!!!! country western godess

  • ok. i agree with those who say "Patsy Cline is awesome" and stuff but i disagree with the "today's singers suck" because they cant sing true country style like her. SHE is a genuine country style singer and she's great. Other singers (Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, etc.) may not be able to sing true country style songs like her but that don't mean they suck. they are good at other genres but not country, that's all. dont despise them if they cant sing one thing but can sing another. ok?

  • OK, let's get a few guitars together. Yeah, and a piano too. Right, now let's sing live AND IN TUNE - no effects, no overdubbing, no fixing things in the mix, that's a live performance folks. When live meant live and performers had REAL TALENT.

  • Classic.

  • wow that was bomb, i love patsy Cline

  • Im related to her, I was born from a Hensley.

  • This one's for you mom.

  • this chicano likes patsy's music alot!

  • nice!!!!!!!!

  • from 57 to 62 you can realy see how life changed her .

  • Patsy and Roy Orbison had dynamic powerfu voices that none of theartists today have.

I miss listening too Roy ad Patsy Cline music.

  • *-*

  • this came on the radio. i turne it up and the other people (teenagers) in the car looked at me like i was crazy!

  • I like the piano accompanist, he looks so happy and excited!

  • thanks 4 posting this

  • Somewhat primitive and messed up video, but it's a great song, and what a magnificent talent she had.

  • ok i love this!

  • frank sinnata

  • Is that Roy Clark on guitar?

  • i love you allllllllllllllllllllllll lovemeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • lord i wish they'd recorded her like that all the time. just a small jazzy band, no frills.

  • @coy0te9

    I'm waiting for auto-tuned Patsy.

  • You can tell by Owen Bradley's facial expressions that he was so proud of Patsy, and he knew that she was something special.

  • Now that's country. I don't understand what people call country these days.

  • love patsy cline

  • Comment removed

  • That piano player is awestruck! Look at about 00:50 and watch him fo r afew seconds.

  • wow shes a babe

  • love patsy she had serious pipes.

  • The stuff today is GARBAGE, and that is with all kinds of music

  • @wendyma01 That is so true---they've got it all screwed up picking like rock stars on country--Boo! Thay ain't country!

  • I love this song!

  • The two guys with the guitars are two great geniuses: Grady Martin with his usual Bigsby double-neck and Hank Garland. ...It was brilliant era

  • bravo!

  • No bright lights, no gimmicks, no scandelous behaviour... just pure talent. Classy lady... makes it look effortless.

  • @earthling85 I have to remind you Patsy would curse like a damned sailor telling dirty jokes in the bars and she left a decent fellow--her first husband for a damned bar hopper Charlie Dick who used to beat the shit out of her when they were drinking--so not exactly unscandalous

  • @micmoable you're right. i've been reading a lot about her and learned that she was quite a pistol. still, not as bad as some of today's celebrities.

  • @earthling85 You got tht right!

  • @micmoable hey thats sum really under cover info mate bar hoppin can be good mate

  • im 16 and gosh im so jealous from old people who lived in those days ..

  • Well, I don't like country music, but I have to hand it to Patsy. She was it a class all by herself. Her talent crossed rock, country, gospel, etc. lines. Any of the hill billy singers of today wish they had 10% of her talent.

  • ...note owen bradley...on piano....!

  • Short but rare video of Patsy.Grady Martin on Strat looks like.
