  • Buggles - Astro Boy(and the Proles on Parade) - I wanna buy this thing so badly.

  • Blondie - Heart of Glass

  • so this can only make this calypso or what ever it is LOL, they made a drum box only for calypso bands, a hip hopper would not be able to use this....funny machine

  • @gix500 only a really inexperienced narrow minded hip-hopper COULDNT use this drum machine.

  • @bigbigsound there is no such thing a s a hip hopper you mindfashed ignorent fuck

  • Very cool how you demo all the machines, I've always wanted to know the difference between them, now I know, I really appreciate it!

  • why do preset drum machines exist? they are all preset, its like basically a speaker with a tape playing those drum sounds.

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!

  • this sounds like the drum machine suicide used.

  • looks like a time bomb device..hehehehe..nice sound....

  • Nice. Ive been looking on ebay for one of these.

  • hahaha sounds like the sort of thing some dodgy pub 'band' would use!

"Join in if you know the words......"

  • this sat atop many an organ without in built drum machine in the 70s i would imagine.

  • @eyeflow9 yes

  • Must have cost you a fortune!

  • wow.. what a sound..

  • @retrosound72 is it?

  • super warmer sound!

  • I'm presently using a softsynth plug-in version of the mini pops machine in my songs. Check out: sweet, sweet smile, 15 minutes of fame, and (Living in my) Aspy's Paradise. I think this machine has the best sound ever!

  • @punchingpillow

    what's this softsynth called?

  • @CaptainErn it's called rythmus, and you can combine any number of basic rythms and adjust panning and volume for every instrument in it

  • reminds me of marvin gay - sexual healing :>

  • @Morph13337 LOL True xD

  • wooow yo quiero una de esas

  • Kinda reminds me of the beginning of "Talisman" by AIR.

  • The Buggles used this in Astroboy! Look the song up and the beat is right at the beginning!

  • This vintage drumcomputer is in a rare mint condition :)

    Nice !

  • Love the bossa beat... so warm... still good for today.

  • Oxygene part IV anyone?

  • rhythm ace??

  • ive had a few rhythm-ace organs and they all had this drum mach sounds and button controls-multiple combinations could create some nice havoc-early residents !

  • magic sound!

  • We love and use the mini pops hard and direct.

  • I love old school technology. It produces a certain type of sound that compels me to get my freak on! Shake yo booty retro style...

  • amazing!

  • similar sound casio´s PT-40?

  • no the mini pops is real analog

  • very nice!! and the wood case !! thanks

  • @jukidribbling It's also very similar to the Casio MT 65/ 68 model (and other early Casios), which DID have analogue drums. Each drum has a trim pot on the circuit board allowing for each percussion sound to be tweaked. Later Casios used digital samples and lost the warmth of the earlier models.

  • YES!! JEAN MICHEL JARRE'S OXYGENE DRUM MACHINE! I love this sound!

  • does it take usb? lol

  • My, if this was in my hands I would feel as if any musical endeavor of mine would be golden... I was in the market for a drum machine and now I know what I need!

  • thanks for this clear and useful demonstration.

  • thanks for your comment :)

  • Roxy Music - "Dance Away"!!!!!!!

  • @NEILVANCE good call

  • Oki, thanks for answering. I've been looking for a Minipops 7 on eBay, without luck so far.

  • Does it have the same sounds/rythms than Minipops 7?

  • Hi, I have both and I can say they sound different! Note that the Minipops Junior has only a few drum sounds. The Minipops 7 has 15-16 of them, and more rhythms. The Minipops 7 is the only Minipops model, which has these 3 characteristic sounds (Qujiada, Tambourine and Guiro), which are mixable to the rhythms.

  • Bro, you're the king of synths!!!!! I'm learning a lot from your videos. Thanks so much for all the demonstrations.

  • :)

    thanks for your kind words

  • he just pushes the buttons.

  • This was used in Buggles - Astroboy and the paroles on parade (at the beginning)

  • Yeah, I have something like that attached to my hammond organ.

  • The best of preset drum machines imho.

  • wow, nice vintage drum machine. That doesn't sound too bad really.

    5 stars.

  • Thanks for watching and rating :)

  • I don't remember which beat box it was but in 1982 or 1983 i was using a similar one in my DJ Booth, i'm looking to find one in 2008 :-). The beat box was also used in the Joe Jackson "Steppin' Out" song. The front panel was similar and has a Rock preset, that the one Joe Jackson choose for his track.

  • Thanks for the comment.

  • I've found what i was looking for. The Korg rhythm 55. Do you have one to show ?

  • 36. sounded like girls on film :)

  • Yes.

    Thanks for watching.

  • jejejeje cool is this a drum macine?

  • This is the MiniPops drum box with 10 preset rhythm.
