Not shown: my epic come-from-behind master stroke when I took my commander, upgraded with Stealth + Cloak + Microwave laser, dropped him behind the Green Cybran, and Masered him to death, destroying his Soul Rippers. His SRs destroyed yellow and were inches from my base.
3:10 looks like I'm getting owned, but it was right before the successful strat-bomb run that killed the Blue UEF commander, winning the game.
2:55-2:58 are also that game. Yellow had a HUGE wall of defenses at bottom mid, but it got badly overrun by Green. I saw it and rushed my com upgrades, sending my stratbombers to destroy Green's Omni. To my delight, I blew it up, and he never rebuilt it.
3:03-3:07 is also that same game. The Renegades are mine, just as I destroyed a small power base in the top mid that blue thought was safe. He got mad and decided to send Broadswords. That didn't work, so he sent Wasps and destroyed them all.
This YouTube is good, but the compression still fails to do it justice when compared to the original version somewhere at the SupCom forums. (Which is even more awesome full screen and with cleaner and better-synced sound.)
Yet at least now I can show others what I'm talking about. :)
It would be really hard to actually play up close like this and enjoy the mo' dakka 'splody-fest eye candy, but whoever decided to direct and edit the replay footage is a genius. Thus it is Epic.
No, the game lets aircraft fly through each other. They were simply dying like crazy because they are really weak. That's why there was a ton of them.
Look man, TA is the forerunner to SupCom, and in that regard it is honored when people say that SupCom is a great game. Without TA, there would've been no SupCom, and although TA was and is great and amazing as an RTS, the "epic-factor" of SupCom has surpassed TA.
I have it and play it every day, it's really pretty enjoyable, at least 15 of my friends have it and we usually do team games. The interface is easier to navigate then the pc version online.
Guys, you can download a much higher resolution (1024*768) video from filefront. I HIGHLY recommend it. It will really make you appreciate the amount of time it must have taken to create this awesome video. The sync with the music is almost uncanny. Excellent work!
The machine used wasn't very powerful, but the gameplay was slowed down to the lowest possible speed and recorded that way. Then they were sped all the way back up for the video.
Note that almost all of this footage is from ACTUAL games played by top level players. Rake just performed the herculean task of assembling the 300-some games into a huge, cool video.

No. SupCom:FA > TA. But Total Annihilation is more like a Father to SupCom than a competitor.
Also, TA is over 10 years old and it has no strategic zoom. It's still one of the best RTS out there, but SupCom:FA is definitely the best now.

No, I decreased the Pan Speed. Settings 1-4 at -10 game speed is what you see most of the time.
To my knowledge, there is no way to decrease the mouse speed.

There is a way to do that. Check the console commands. It's ui_spinrate and similar commands.
