  • id live in that!

  • you must of been really really Bored..

  • this is pretty cool. You can even escape from the hurricanes and tornadoes.

  • Some rich prick will buy it for there kid and then put in a damn tree! Wait and see XD

  • how tall is that...and what does it weigh?

  • @darmp64 It is 13'5" tall and weighs with the trailer 5600 lbs.

  • Great job! You obviously know what you;re doing and should be very proud of your work!

  • @googles1515 Thank you :)

  • You can buy a really nice travel trailer for 39,0000. Just saying!

  • Do you know the weight on it?

  • @smcdole1 5600 lbs including the trailer

  • I would have thought doing all the work yourself that this small of a house could be had for 10,000 to 13,000 easy. especially if you can get the materials on discount knowing the right people. Now the labor and carpentry work that went into in itself would be worth another 10 grand so in my eyes 20,000 Grand would be the worth of it without any profit. My dad and I built all wood bedrooms on his house each the size of this for around 6 grand a piece and I understand they are not rolling.

  • @efrey614 Unfortunately that is just the cost of materials. I didn't use old wood and scrap materials because I didn't want it to smell like a shack. I, too, thought that it would be a piece of cake to build but it wasn't an easy task at all. It involves a lot of work. Now a large crew of professionals could have gotten it done in a much shorter period of time than I, that's true. I could have also used better weather - shrug.

  • wouldn't want one in England unless its bolted down some bloody Irish gypsy will nick it

  • This would make an awesome guest house. Plus, if its your mother in law, you can roll it further from the house if required :)

  • nice tiny home, but the music is horrendous!

  • @digger9million Ha Ha! I had Family Guys "This house is Freakin' Sweet" but everyone complained about that. Hummm... What can you do?

  • I am a machine designer and I stopped watching at 6:20 you are obviously able to think well and have all the correct ideas of light weight construction (i also design aircraft as a hobby and you right on the money with the wood and polystyrene- which are all good) now you just have to get your head around mass production to make money you have to resdesign it so you can build it in 2 weeks

  • @EVZebra It could be done, but you would have to fight with Tumbleweed. They believe that they are the only ones who are allowed to build tiny houses. Anyway, its not for me. I'm too disabled to do this kind of work.

  • very cool nicer than most of my neighbors homes

  • Thats so cool i would be happy to live i it good job

  • why not buy a camper instead?

  • I love the house and I think you should market it to people who have a great amount of land and children maybe....i would buy it if I had the money. PPL who dont craftsmanship when they see it are always gonna be shocked at the price...at 50,000 it would be a steal. In fact I think you should raise the price market to Will Smith and other celebs with kids in the lime light see where that takes you...I dont like traditional mobile homes ...they suck,,,lol

    BE ENCOURAGED! :))

  • Yer boy holdin the lantern is the wrong color.

  • Lost interest at about the 3rd "This house is freakin' sweet/cool"... Otherwise it's freakin' cool!

  • what does it weigh

  • @tryigtomakeit 5600 lbs.

  • This tiny house is freakin sweet! Great job! Now, what is YOUR story? Everything is about the house. Why did you build it? Are you one of those High School kids doing a unique project? Or just a middle-age fellow with no life who was needing a hobby or what? What was your motivation? I love the house, but am also interested in the personal "human interest" side of it, which might also make some stupid people understand something for the first time in their life. You have a lot of talent....

  • I don't know what I'd do with your house, but its kinda cool. Post a video of the thing all finished, hot water and all.

  • I want one!!!!

  • I love this! I think I saw it on the news or something. Have you sold it yet?

  • @iridescencediva Not yet :)

  • @tinyhouseman Don't sell it, live in it

  • I like the house...not so much on a trailer though. All that wood it has to weight an insane amount. . But i love the quality of craftsmanship put into it. Most people slap stuff together.

  • @fellowboater With the trailer it weighs only 5600 lbs.

  • Ok you said it would hold up to hurricane force winds, lets pull it on the highway at 80mph and see what happens?

  • @Sunfadedlovejaded Actually, I didn't say it would hold up to a hurricane. I said that I used an adhesive rated to withstand hurricane force winds. Anyone who would haul one of these at 80 mph would be insane and criminal. It's a solid home and travels well if an intelligent person is pulling it. Why would you suggest such a thing? What is your point?

  • @tinyhouseman

    Will it withstand rain?

  • @Sunfadedlovejaded Sure it will, but I really don't recommend hauling it in a down poor. I don't like driving a regular car in a down poor.

  • @tinyhouseman

Ok, I'm sold, how much for the whole enchilada?

Good job, good answers and PS I like that you wouldn't drive it 80mph.

I was just bustin your balls, your a good kid. Stay that way. Peace

  • @Sunfadedlovejaded Thanks :)

  • Only thing is that once you drive it for some distance the vibrations will crack it.

  • @Sunfadedlovejaded That's why I used an adhesive that is rated to stand hurricane force winds. Plus, I didn't use nails. I screwed and glued everything :)

  • @tinyhouseman

What you gonna do with the trailer tires once you park it?

It gonna sit on rubber filled with air the of its time?

I like your house, i'd rock somewhere with a little stove, solar, wind generator and a hammock.

  • @Sunfadedlovejaded If you park it for an extended period of time you need to jack it up and use stabilizer bars or block, etc.

  • Someday when i grow up I would love to have a house like this and just by a plot of land up in the vermont mountains and live their. that would be the best. great job on the house!

  • Nice Job Man! Lots of craftmanship is very apparent!

  • Great job

  • It is interesting, thought provocing, but way too expensive. Don't you realize that most americans are making less than ten dollars an hour and have five kids? How could they afford this?

  • @sundogforlove I really wish that things were inexpensive. I would have loved the cost to have been low and affordable for everyone, but that's not the way life is. I sold everything I had to build this so I wouldn't have to live on the streets. I worked hard to build it as strong and perfect as I could. It took me 10 months to finish it. If you don't think I understand how poor people are then you don't know me... and you don't. I only wish I could save the world but can't.

  • Bathroom?

  • @flamingjune1000 Yes with a one piece 32" stand up shower and flush toilet :)

  • A home away from home

  • That house is freakin' sweet.

  • why so much money did you have a contractor crew build it?

  • @allmotorhash No, I built it myself. It is a lot of work and considering that Tumbleweed sells similar for $54,900.00, I think $39,000 is a real steal. I have $22,000.00 in materials alone.

  • @tinyhouseman i love it and dont let anyone tell you its not worth what your asking your time and effort are worth alot to i meen if they dont want to pay then you keep it its your first house and a piece of artwork that your proud of i did contractor work for years and it was always get payed but never aprieciated for my work so dont you let anyone talk you down in price its your hard work and sweat that went into building the house if they cant see that then to bad great house nice job love it

  • @jeryl1968 Thank you. I wish you could read some of the hateful comments that I have gotten from folks that don't even know me. One person told me to drive it deep in the woods, get it stuck in the mud and die.

  • @tinyhousemanyour wellcome dude il tell you this to hell with those people i know how cruel youtube can be this is your work you were nice enough to share it with us i liked it it was really something

  • in germany for 39.000$ you can buy a car but an house never an mansion never ^^ so the price is good but im not interested but looks cool

  • Well Done young man , you must have a big future looking at your talent, Hope you get what you are asking for it , considering the amount of work involved and your costs it is a bargain, Keep up the good work !!!

  • I admit, it's nice, but frankly the "Average" person could simply buy a medium bus/motorhome and live it in for about 1/2 the costs. Still, very nice but a tad spendy...Getting a loan on this might be tricky.

  • That looks like a pretty cool house ,but I have a few questions 1. What do you do for power? Do you hook up to a city power source, solar power, or just get a long extension cord and plug into your neighbor? 2. What do you do for water? Hook up to city water, a long water hose and nice neighbor? 3. What is your constrution background? Do you build houses for a living or did you study some books and decied to try it yourself?

  • @92ljmoore All the above concerning the utilities :) I Do not build these for a living. I have a bit of nohow extending from my younger years. Some members of my family have carpentry skills.

  • Nice work!

  • what would you estimate the weight to be? , I looked at your site and all the photos, great job for sure... depending on where the home is and if it has to be moved thru different states DOT permits maybe needed? Also what amp is the power

  • @gsarjos As far as I know it is road legal in all states. It weighs 5600 lbs including the trailer its on and is 8.5' wide 19' long and 13' 4" tall. I am using a 30 amp service.

  • Superb craftsmanship .. very nicely done .. Bravo!

  • People complaining about the price of this don't know quality when they see it. Grade A woods and good insulation don't come cheap. Something like this is hard to build because all the tolerances are much much tighter then on larger buildings, its easy for a trained eye to see you did a great job.

  • Very well done! When we all need to bug out in advance of the Great FEMA Roundup, these will come in handy.

  • do you know if you can get these kind of houses in europe ?

  • @RunningintheWild The market is alive in Europe. This particular one I'm not sure of.

  • @tinyhouseman cool thanks :)

  • For the money you would save in a course of 10-15 years before I would start a family, I would totally live in this, the taxes would be laughable compared to a full home, and the utilities would be close to nothing.

  • Looked cool until the decorative post and off colored cedar were installed. :-\

  • Nice, question: how much did it cost u? N what's the weight of the house?

  • @oakland002 $22,000 in materials. It weighs 5600 lbs including the trailer.

  • Not bad, but $39,000? You can buy a 1300sq ft house in Florida for this price.

  • @todd987 Yes this is true, but again, the insulative quality will cost you in utilities. Plus, there are, again, those taxes. And, they are not portable.

  • you can buy a mansion for 40,000.00 bucks...

  • @onceANexile That mansion will cost you big time over the years though. You never know how much fuel and electric will be to keep it warm in the winter and cool in the summer. That you will never be able to control. You are at their mercy. But a Mansion??? I don't think so :)

  • @tinyhouseman Yeah 40,000 Dollars seems high for this little house to some but you def used high quality stuff to build this and a 40,000 dollar house will not have these things and will not save you in utils like your LED lighting. LOVE IT!!

  • @onceANexile dude now 40 grand will get you a mobile home.... any decent house is 100k

  • @movieeloveer Even mobile homes aren't insulated and portable like this is. Nor are the materials as quality as what I have used. Plus, there are no personal or real proper taxes involved like there would be for homes on a foundation. These are best for placing them on existing property shared with friends or relatives. Mother-in-laws house so to speak :)

  • u have a neat concept here, but way overpriced...i can buy a real mobile home 16x80 for that price

  • @MrDaddio34 Yeah, but this one you can freely move it around and live where you like. If you don't like your neighbors, hasta la bye bye! LOL

  • You have awesome skils, and I admire your entrepreneurship but you have to realize that there are complete full size houses on the market with land for $15,000.00 and up.

$40,000.00 is quite high, I am sure you put alot of time into your ptoject and time is money.

Good luck, I admire your work.

  • @usarmycaptainamerica Yes, this is true. However, there is little guarantee that the house is insulated properly and won't cost you a hefty utilities bill, not to mention real estate taxes. I was offered a large apartment to rent for only $550 a month. The utilities were over $300 in the winter. You have to be careful about all the mechanics when buying. Besides, this little house is moveable. :)

  • Awesome house i would buy it and live in a driveway or something x] it is a awesome house

  • @jetbrewbaker That's actually what I'm doing at the moment. I'm living in a friends driveway.. He happens to be a good friend and doesn't mind having me around. I'm sure lots of people have friends like that :)

  • Great Project. Congrats!

  • Pretty cool... I'm wondering about the roof... 'normally' we would leave a space between the insulation and the roof deck and a vented soffit and ridge vent to allow the roof assembly to be ventilated. Is there a reason that this doesn't appear to have been done here?

Being the hopeless pedant that I am, I just have to say this, sorry... next video, run the subtitles through a spell checker... bracks, debree, panals... and a few more... just sayin, not hatin'.

  • @jeffpicks LOL... Well, I was really tired and it was late at night when I did that awful job of spelling. I really am kinda smart :) It was just one of those things. Anyway, The corrugated roof allows for air flow and since there's a loft, height limits wouldn't allow for a ventilated attic of sorts. :)

  • @tinyhouseman -- Gotcha... I'm thinking that the ventilation UNDER the roof deck is more for any water vapor that could migrate through or around the insulation. If there are any tiny air leaks, the water vapor will condense on the cold side of the insulation and freeze/rot the roof decking... in such a small structure there is bound to be a high humidity level. I do see that you've taped all the panels, so you might be OK there.

  • @jeffpicks Yeah :) So far, so good. I haven't had any problems so far. You do need to vent when you shower or cook though. The polystyrene acts as a vapor barrier also.

  • dear jeremy, can you build me a hot tub? -mel

  • Nice make a good camper or a bug out house. Or even a good deer hunting cabin. Very cool.

  • for 40 grand anyone can get a foreclosed home with a yard and garage lol. You may be able to sell it for 15 max but still doubtful

  • @HappyJackProduction1 Ha Ha! No, I'm sorry. There is $22,000 in materials alone. This isn't a little cubby house. This is a home with some of the finest materials. The good part about it is it's portability and lack of property taxes and upkeep expenses. I'm not in the market of building and selling these. I just have this one and if no one wants it I'm happy to live in it myself. Even though this one is used, you should check out what they are selling for new.

  • Nice, but I would have made the hip part of the roof on the end that takes the wind while driving, for better aerodynamics

  • @TheMrFinneth That was something that I thought about, but the hip would have taken valuable headroom away from the sleeping loft. Good thinking though.

  • it's awesome xD greetings from Poland

  • @camarPL Welcome Poland!

  • I'm impressed! Awesome job :D

  • So when are you going to get rid of the big house that the drive belongs too and move in to the tiny house? Just asking.

  • @ehhjeep All ready there :) I've been test driving (living) this house for 6 months now. I love it :))

  • @tinyhouseman Thats cool, let all of us know how it truns out and what the draw backs mite be and what the plus are. Wish u well.

  • Did you not think about buying a caravan?

  • @Dabhandatthat Nope. I can live in this one all year round.

  • Curious how it pulls down the road. What do you pull it with? How does the siding and roof hold up to the wind? Just curious

  • @illisanantexico I pulled it 3000 miles with a Dodge Ram 1500 and a weight distribution hitch. I recommend at least a 3/4 ton however. I had no sway problems and was able to haul it anywhere a semi truck can go. It pulled very well.

  • @tinyhouseman That's awesome. Did you add any extra considerations when roofing and/or siding it? (Liquid Nails, or anything?) Very interesting. I have a 1 ton Powerstroke, you sorta got me thinkin'... :D Excellent work, btw.

  • @illisanantexico When sheeting the floor sides and roof I used a construction grade glue that is supposed to withstand hurricane force winds. The 1 ton will do it :)

  • How do you know what locations you're allowed to drop the house in?

  • @morgothaod Anywhere you can park an RV or Semi trailer you can park this.

  • can i have it

  • @ArT2Oo0 No! LOL It's for sale though :)

  • You could have installed solar panels to generate electircity !

  • @YourStreetPerformer I have a small array and the house is wired for solar hookup.

  • lets go RVing! (brings whole house) weee!!!

  • Thumbs up for the lawn jockey. I landed me a used one of those with a red shirt and I put it on my best friend's porch when she was out one night. That sucker was heavy. LOL I still laugh about that.

  • @Quietpony You're right about the heavy. I use a 2 wheel cart just to move it. Solid concrete :)

  • Looks energy efficient and cozy.

  • Very cool. Also, good way to see the stages of building a house. It's always seemed so overwhelming. Makes me feel I could live in a small space. Charming.

  • 40 grand though? no offense, and i totally dig the project, but you can buy enough space for a family for that price. Either way, it's awesome. Very nice job.

  • This is awesome! :-)

  • I read the title in Peter Griffin's voice...

  • That's a nice project. I'm impressed.

  • I love this house how much did it all cost??

  • @Sweet150Heart $22,000 in materials plus labor :)

  • Nice job! Although I do have to say that the corner post doesn't look like it belongs. Maybe something a little beefier...:)

  • Dont take this the wrong way, but $40,000 seems a little steep in an economy where you can buy a bank repo 2 bed/1 bath with a city plot for the same price. Yes I am aware that it is portable, but so is a 2011 26' 5th wheel with full amenities for half that price.

    Is it the kitsch factor?

  • what was the final cost if you dont mind me askin. this house is really nice ide like to build one

  • @manostihl $22,000 in materials plus labor :)

  • bubbles would love this

  • if the trailor is a rockin don't coma knocking haha

  • lol would it be possible to get that into a gas station

  • @festustoad Actually I drove into many gas stations with it right behind. The canopy's are raised to at least 15 feet. :)

  • Wow, that's really nice little house, I like it very much!

  • Wow. Just wow!

So much criticism - I'm just super-impressed at the cleverness and neatness of your work. I cant even get a coat rack to stay up on the wall.

I love these little (and large) cob houses that people build for themselves too. I wish I'd known about them when I was a bit younger.

  • This home is freakin sweet. Because you said so.

  • one person farts......its all over.

  • you did a super job! I like your home.

  • now where can my 60 inch led samsung go hummm?

  • nice concept.. I'd leave some vents under neath for running external heat or earth pipes.

  • @josephdupont Good idea :)

  • Ps frekin awesome

  • Is there trailers types that better for this any legalities concern for weight

  • @Thedevontree Mine is a modified car hauler. It has a 7,000 lb capacity. Total weight with trailer is about 5600 lbs. Street legal is 8.5' x 13.5'.

  • you must drive a 8.0l diesel turbo?damn.....

  • why wouldnt you make it from steel studs wood is so heavy!

  • @milldabeast519 Steel stubs are quite expensive plus the only ones I saw at Lowes, ect. were non load bearing. You are right though.

  • @tinyhouseman how much more expensive? im not sure if its worth it but take into account the time it would take to put up steel vs wood. steel studs are so easy and fast. plus the gas you would save pulling it. but yea now that i think of it i have never heard of load bearing walls being built with steel studs even tho i beleive there rated for a higher strenght?are u actually worried about the load or was it code your trying to follow? thats some bullshit that steel dont have load bearing studs

  • @milldabeast519 Yeah I agree. I'm sure that there are steel studs designed to do just that but I haven't seen them in the stores. They have all stated: "these are not for use in load bearing walls." Maybe its just because they haven't been received well, as yet, by your everyday home maker. I'm speaking of non pros of coarse.

  • how much does it weigh?

  • @dr600foottall 5600 lbs there about.

  • real nice, but I think you lost a LOT of room by the way you did the door. I live in an RV, and have for several years now. So I do know a little about what I'm talking about. It's very easy to make a porch that doesn't cut into your interior space. We live on a private piece of property, so we're not moving the RV around. As I suspect you do not either, especially with that roof. Si I'm curious why you would sacrifice so much "VALUABLE" space just for looks?

  • @Johnny1776Freedom I just needed a place to stand while getting my keys during the rain. There are, I'm sure, many great ways of doing it. The high profile roof really makes for a great loft though :) I considered a barn style roof also. Anyway, it moves easy enough but with the price of gas you wouldn't want to travel to far too often. Thanks.

  • i love your home

  • One question...WHY???

  • @freedomtoclick Because I can :)

  • @tinyhouseman Must be nice,Congrats...

  • fantastic idea! :) I love it, and you did a great job putting this all together, good luck to you!

  • oh dang...I need this little house in my life!

  • if only there was a word to adequately describe how sweet this house is.......

  • ermm i think iv wondered into the tiny house fetish sectian of youtube :/

  • very very nice, well done

  • Freakin' awesome!

  • Your house is freakin' sweet dude.

  • What would be a good estimate for the road speeds (winds) this house can endure while towing. Could it endure highway travel?
