@chikaiskusni how is it wrong? oh and by the way hes using whats called traditional grip. not that you would know anything about that. How about you learn more about drumming before giving your opinion and maybe you wont come off looking so stupid next time

yall are a bunch of stupid fuckers that will never be as good as this guy at the drums. quit putting all this crap up bashing this guy. hes trying to teach the people that give a shit. if you cant understand what hes saying, then that means you cant count and your gonna suck at drums any way!
i think this is great for new players, first thing people do when they pick up an instrument is learn some of their favorite songs. from ther they can evolve into their unique style. Great vid
lol if the video is named "How to Play "Satisfaction"" why will he play not the song? He takls something about the right beat...yeah classic rock beat nothing else....but How to Play "Satisfaction" is something diferent. Not only the beat is important -.- a drummer has to give the speed of a song and about this he said nothing! sorry but there is not clearly said How to Play "Satisfaction"
Probably because of licensing issues. If they were to actually include the song "Satisfaction" in this video, they'd have to pay the rights holders an assload of money.
Music appreciation can be so subjective. I've been playing in bands since 1965. Our first song was "Satisfaction". I will play anything but jazz. It gets on my nerves. I play anything with a solid, dancable beat. Has anyone noticed how Charlie plays some 2-beat fills with a hard hit on the tom and a lighter hit on the snare? Very effective. These youtube videos of Charlie playing are excellent for picking up his nuiances. I've seen the Stones 6 times and they just keep getting better!
I just don't know why this seems hard for people. I don't mean to offend anyone but this is so easy. All young drummers should put there main focus on playing jazz, then learn rock. I learned jazz early (still learning of course) and its helped tremendously in feel and groove when i play rock.
give us more on Charlie Watts, the most neglected drummer in the world.
she's so cold fills... they're so short but AMAZING! sometimes, Charlie leaves off snare and it's better than a fill but how the hell does he do that. it's like less is more, or I don't know.
if you know more Stones, please let us know. thanks!
Unified Porpoise did you mean- this sounds like a unified porpoise! YOU are a unified porpoise!! -playing mixmaster washing machine beats with perfect clodoviction- Devastating for sure!
Guys, calm down. Jo Jones was Count Basie's drummer in the heyday of big band jazz. more than 50 years ago. He's worth checking out but if you don't know about him, it's no big deal. But it's worth knowing that Charlie Watts certainly knew about Jo Jones and learned from listening to him. Charlie is a guy who does not have the world's greatest chops or time, but what he does is groove--and make hit records.
look, i didnt say i knew anything about swing . . . and also ive been playing drums for almost four years so if he were so "BIG" i probably would have heard of jo jones. also no im in high school . . . so what?
You should learn your drum history because Jo Jones is one of its most important drummers. Also, all rock n' roll comes from a swing heritage. I'm a rock fan more of a jazz fan but I at least have respect for the instrument and its history. You sound kind of young and not so up on things so I'll cut you some slack.
Dude,im a guitar player and I know who jo jones is, max roach, buddy rich, art blakey.. all those guys man..you gotta hop outta the arena 70's for a sec bro and get some history runnin through ya.
BTW, in the context of the sentence you just wrote, it is "you're" not "your". I suppose education is not your strong suit. I guess in fact, you're the moron. LOL.
@rovusss ...and, if you knew what you were talking about, you'd know that Watts signature drum intros to many of their songs are WHY the band is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Actually that whole RR/Hall of Fame sh*t means nuthin' to me;The Stones were great long before that all came along. If you aren't old enough to have heard the beginning beat to 'Get Off My Cloud' on a juke box, you don't know sh*t about what it was to experience R & R back in the day ...you don't know what you missed !!
Respond to this video... The invention of the 'wheel' - as important as the invention of the plane or space shuttle ?
In its day yes it was. And neither of the later inventions could land back on earth without the wheel. Songs/beats like 'Get Off My Cloud" were simplistic by todays standards but let me tell ya, back in the day they got the party started !
Charlie came up with quite a few, now classic, opening beats to the Stones songs. He's a natural, the real deal.
