I remember when I first played this game and wondered how I kept on getting killed so quickly and It was the M16. I used it exclusively for the first prestige, but found a love for the AK, now i've broadened my horizons to include more than just one trigger wonders like the M16.I just wish high level prestiges would quit relying on that noob ass gun. If you got skills u can use any gun other than the m16.
why would you use C4 with an assault rifle like the m16? you wouldn't have time to place that bomb and decide to blow the guy up you should use bandolier or something better.. but w/e..

The M16 is only a noob gun when its used with red dot sight. RDS on M16 is for people who can't use the Iron sights. Iron sights and ACOG have better damage over range than the RDS(This is the same with all weapons) which is why I never use it.
If you can line up targets with the Iron Sights(SKILL) every time, you will never need the Red Dot Sight(NO SKILL).

People complain about the M16 being overpowered far too much. It's incredibly easy to counter. It's one of the worst weapons close range (if they miss a hip fire shot, you can get lucky sometimes), long range you just need to aim a little better. Any automatic has a rate of fire advantage. No noob has ever started a new game, picked up an M16, and did well.

Lol. This post is kind of funny. G3 takes 3 body shots, 2 head. M14 takes 2 body shots, 1 head. Snipers take one head or one upper torso. M16s (even with stopping power) take 3 bullets to the head or upper torso to kill. The Deagle takes 2 bullets to kill.
m16 takes 1 bullet to the head. m16 doesnt always take 3 bullets. Just because it fires 3 bullets doesnt mean it does. m16 is one of the best guns because of its deadly combo. Damage and Range.
Guns in cod4 all depend on your connection to people and the person hosting the game. Some connections people sponge like shit and can take 6 full on m16 shots, on a good connection can be one. You notice more when you're hosting how much easier it is to kill ppl.
It's only cheap with stopping power. Stopping power + M16 = one-shot kill. I especially hate the fact that EVERYONE uses it like that, turning a simple Team Deathmatch into a nubfight.

There is absolutly no challenge with the m16. It's more funny to own a game with a gun that noobs can't handle (like g3, m14, mp44 etc...). Maybe you will kill as fast as the m16 with the ak-47, but the ak-47 have a huge recoil. Not the m16. Kill a sniper in long range with the ak-47 is harder than the m16.

Yes you still need to aim it, but it only takes 1 - 2 shots for a kill, and it has next to no recoil. It really takes no skill to camp and shoot 2 or 3 shots to kill someone.
every pro-gamers are using the m16 because this gun is very powerful. Extremly accurate, kill in 1 or 2 burst, still good in long range. Any newbie can have good score with it. It's so easy to handle...

If someone is a low level (like, level 7) and they use an M16 w/ Stopping Power, it's about one shot, one kill. For higher levels, it takes about 2-3 shots. @xboxtrailerboy, thats fucking retarded, as a sniper u should always get uav jammer... if u know h2p with a sniper u should always have a one shot one kill, and u should play on hardcore servers because on the normal servers i can empty a clip from a skorpion (for example) and still not kill someone (and yes i hit them ). the other perk for a sniper should be extreme conditioning because in quite a few maps u have to run ur ass off to get somewhere. iron lungs is crap.

first of all, the skorpion was an example. do you fuck ants on a regular basis? anyway, my reply was over a month ago. iron lungs is still worthless because without it you can still get a clear shot , you have to hold your breath when you are just about to shoot and not all the time. extreme conditioning is NOT a noob perk at all. but i would go with the deep impact perk instead of that nowadays.

Lol. This post is kind of funny. G3 takes 3 body shots, 2 head. M14 takes 2 body shots, 1 head. Snipers take one head or one upper torso. M16s (even with stopping power) take 3 bullets to the head or upper torso to kill. The Deagle takes 2 bullets to kill.
You're kind of bad at COD I'm assuming.

m16 takes 1 bullet to the head. m16 doesnt always take 3 bullets. Just because it fires 3 bullets doesnt mean it does. m16 is one of the best guns because of its deadly combo. Damage and Range.

Guns in cod4 all depend on your connection to people and the person hosting the game. Some connections people sponge like shit and can take 6 full on m16 shots, on a good connection can be one. You notice more when you're hosting how much easier it is to kill ppl.

It's only cheap with stopping power. Stopping power + M16 = one-shot kill. I especially hate the fact that EVERYONE uses it like that, turning a simple Team Deathmatch into a nubfight.
Other than that, it's an amazing gun.

I like the M16 but when you use stopping power i think its to easy so i overkill it to the M1014 (perfect for defending headquarters) and i got 7 straight MVPs even if i didnt win the game and i wasnt playing noobs cause they were all higher than me and beat me games before i used that class

people need to wise up... the m16 drops in bursts, and that slight delay between bursts can quite easily get you killed by a noob spraying none stop with a full automatic weapon.. ak47 is hard??? wack a silencer on it bye bye recoil hello m16 accuracy in bursts. the people who moan about the M16 are usually the people im running round like a headless chicken owning with it. i gurantee most ppl that bitch about the M16 cant actually use it to its full advantage.

There is absolutly no challenge with the m16. It's more funny to own a game with a gun that noobs can't handle (like g3, m14, mp44 etc...). Maybe you will kill as fast as the m16 with the ak-47, but the ak-47 have a huge recoil. Not the m16. Kill a sniper in long range with the ak-47 is harder than the m16.

Yes you still need to aim it, but it only takes 1 - 2 shots for a kill, and it has next to no recoil. It really takes no skill to camp and shoot 2 or 3 shots to kill someone.

every pro-gamers are using the m16 because this gun is very powerful. Extremly accurate, kill in 1 or 2 burst, still good in long range. Any newbie can have good score with it. It's so easy to handle...

Noobs... seriously. Even if I can use it I don't. I'd rather stay to other weapons (like smi-automatics) because they rock. I mean it's unfair when someone uses an M16 with Stopping Power. If someone is a low level (like, level 7) and they use an M16 w/ Stopping Power, it's about one shot, one kill. For higher levels, it takes about 2-3 shots. AND we're talking about three bullets per shot against someone elses one shot weapon. Very noobish
