  • i meant if it starts bleeding?

  • no disrespect or anything but what if you get punched in the nose and it starts breathing , not everyone can move like mike tyson , or mayweather . then can you breathe out your mouth?

  • @chexy73 What do you think, if you cant breath in and out of your nose you will breath through your mouth.

  • This is brilliant - simple, direct and effective. Thank you for sharing this tip - it's a real gem!

  • is it bad if i breathe out of my mouth when i make the whistle whenever i punxh?

  • Thanks for the info.

  • WHAT IF YOU CANT BREATH FROM BOTH NOSE HOLE OLNY ONE ?????? CUZ I CAN BREATH MY OTHER HOLE FUCKED ......

  • No hooks b4 books kids!

  • THIS BLACK MAN IS THE WORST TEACHER IN THE WORLD

  • @masterdelrap Hater

  • You are a legend Mr. M thanks for the great info and keep up the great work.

  • thx for the tip.

  • ok dumbfucks if you have your jaw tight shut when someone smashes you in the mouth you'll get your teeth knocked out if you have an open jaw it does very little it still has lots of resistance. yes if you have had no athletic training or you have absolutely no experience with working out or working hard for that matter you will find boxing training hard just like with anything else. breathing is extremely important as without it you'd collapse without being hit. period

  • @Xtr3m3ginger You obviously have no idea what you're talking about...

  • Thx xactly what i needed

  • or you could breath through ur teeth like keep ur mouth closed clich ur teeth and blow out

  • @Clayton6996 thats pretty difficult to do with a mouth piece in, dip shit.

  • @jacquehashbro if you would box you would under stand so go back to the xbox 360 and let the people who know talk k thanks bud

  • @Clayton6996 and that how to get ur jaw broken

  • why do you get more tired if you breath through your mouth?

  • @realmaddog123 No, but you will get knocked out.

  • @realmaddog123 Because the lungs are more highly oxygenated from air intake through the nose. I don't know the science behind it but it is said that breathing through your nose supplies more oxygen. In my conditioning, I was trained to breathe through my nose and exhale from my mouth but you don't ever want to expose more "openness" for your jaw hence why you shouldn't breathe in or out of your mouth at all.

  • i watched few of ur videos and i subscribed ... u know why ? Cuz ur not like one of these fake ass power ranger kids that make "lessons" for fighting in youtube and they fail pretty much ! You are showing how to do it right so i like this ... also i learned and fixed some of my moves so thank u and keep doing it : ) (srry for bad english ! ) :)

  • keep your mounth closed

  • does this work when performing intercourse ??

  • @metan098 good question

  • @alan2098 when you trow a punch you breath out, makes you punch harder, try it out

  • Only problem is i dont got a gorilla nose so cant take in alot of air when inhaling

  • @bluekeet LMAO this made me spit out all my juice i was drinking...

  • @bluekeet Fucking racist

  • chuck can do boxing with no breathing at all!!!

  • @hrzan Chuck Norris boxes with no breathing at all!!!

  • Boxing has to be one of the most intense sports, you will probably need to breath through your mouth.

  • Man, thanks for your advice, I had this messed up problem that i loose fast my cardio, and I didnt understand what the fcuk is going on - I can run 20km but cant stay 3 min round. Then I changed to nose breathing and it was kind of wonder. Thanks man, I hope it will help for all beginners.

  • chur good advice

  • Thank You for the help

  • u 2 cool McDowell

  • I've always wanted to do boxing, I feel like I could excell at it...Idk how to get into it

  • @Benniekarl77 just look for some local boxing gyms join one and go from there

  • boxing fucks the beginners in initial couple of weeks,,,,,,,,

  • @ghousevil what do you means fucks the beginners?

  • @peopleonthewall mean to say that boxing is so difficult in begining because it requires lot of stamina and will power ... so beginers are incapable of these qualities when they learn boxing...

  • @ghousevil i just started boxing not too long ago and you're right. i had to really push it during the drills. but after 2 weeks i started to get the hang of it. still having trouble breathing when doing bag work and shadow boxing

  • @ghousevil what do you mean? I started boxing for 6 months

  • Florence SC

  • If I did that, I'd end up blowing my nose all over myself.

  • i want to start boxing but i dont know where to sign up at

  • @EASTSIDEGANSTER1 where are you from?

  • @EASTSIDEGANSTER1

Make sure you're straight to pay $50-$80 dollars a month or $250-$300 for seven months to a year for a membership. Then, open up your Google search and look for a boxing gym nearest to your location. Call them up and get their information or go there (recommended), and you'll be set in no time. Getting in shape for gym training would also be a great idea. A good routine would be 50 push-ups and 200 sit-ups three times a day and run at least 3 miles a week for a month.

  • *you give yourself, rather

  • yeah your right!! i think it's really hard to get it

  • I have my nose twisted to the side and i can hardly breath well from it. for me this was totally fail.

  • and this is another reason why black ppl are good at baxing :P

  • @benardox baxing no its called Boxing. reason why black people can't spell? doesn't really matter what race you are bro.

  • @colesjeff12 ops boxing is what i ment to say.

and yes indeed i do agree with you there.

its about heart and dedication ;)

  • @colesjeff12 im black but that guy just alienated himself into ignorance

  • @prophecy505 yeah i know.

  • @colesjeff12 who said he was black?

  • whoever dislikes this guy's videos are idiots, this guy has the best boxing advice on youtube.

  • @Ryo456 and the only person(s) that will disagree with you on this point are those that know nothing about Boxing or Fist fighting, the fact that he is not making an effort to dramatize the procedures of basic boxing foundations and tenents, is what makes him a good trainer as well as advisor to young fighters, and at the end of the day these are the things that count, and I'm saying this from the perspective of a trainer with two currently undefeated fighters in my charge,,,,,all KO's

  • breath out my mouth keep my eyes closed all times dont wana get my vision all messed up keep closed all times..GOT IT! ima beat the shit outta next guy if i can find him XD

  • why can't you exhale with your mouth when you punch? I've been told to inhale with my nose and exhale with my mouth?

  • @mpkolben you would risk getting punched in the mouth and not having a firm bite on your mouthguard, could be bad..

  • @mpkolben thats for sports. when ur fighting boxing or mma w.e u srop ur chip and its open for attack like it now has room to move and jerk when u get hit causing more damage. simply put its easyer to get K.O.

  • What if your breathing through your teeth, keeping your jaw clenched and only opening your lips?

  • @MsAlexMoore Try it with a mouth guard in your teeth. It's almost impossible.

  • your a great guy and you know what your talking about thanks for the vids there great.

  • Excellent! Thanks for this tip...five years into this and finally a good tip for breathing. Can't wait to get to the gym tonight.

  • Thanks man, I do a lot of cardio and it doesn't seem to help a lot. My buddies and I have amateur boxing matches and I go with an aggressive approach to every match. It works most of the time, but if I'm ever up against someone who can take it or is faster I want to be able to go the distance. This should help me, thanks.

  • my nose is too mashed,id suffocate.

  • THIS IS COMPLETELY INACCURATE! I've been boxing for a couple years now and I have to say that when you breathe out of your nose you cut your air flow....but when you breathe through your mouth...you get deep breathes in and out...look at my new channel...current record is (17-3)

  • @rickandkiki if you breath thru your mouth you open your mouth meaning you expose your jaw , getting hit with an open jaw = a knock out

  • @d954og no you keep your mouth closed breath threw you teeth and mouth piece

  • @d954og you can breath through your mouth because your mouth piece has a opening where you can breath in through your nose and out of your mouth

  • @rickandkiki look i have similar doubts. i'd say i used to played with boxing but nowadays i run every day for 8 km weighing 100 kg. So to carry that load, over such a distance in soft, hilly terrain i developed my own style of breathing. i take a long deep breath through my mouth trying to fill my lungs to the fullest than i exhale by two quick blows. i keep in inhaling longer than exhaling(important).I run really fast. The moment i shut my mouth I'm done. I agree with you 100%

  • @rickandkiki furthermore, when you seat profusely your nose gets very often blocked

  • @rickandkiki Well, the old adage is, 'An open jaw, is a broken jaw'. It is difficult not to open ones mouth, especially as we tire, but the video advice is correct. Breathing through the mouth means your jaw is weaker, the mouth dries more easily and there is a tendancy to breath too much and waste much needed energy. Keep the mouth breathing for the corner my friend; nice record, all the best to you.

  • Not only good advice for boxing, but life in general. All you naysayers, try it as you go about your daily business, don't lazily breathe through your mouth, but keep it firmly closed and breath only through your nostrils. (Obviously open your mouth to talk!) I promise that after a few minutes you'll notice a difference, suddenly your breathing deeper and through your abdomen. After a few days your stamina and mental clarity increase and your stomach shrinks and gets firmer!

  • @madmax8903 youre out of topic. this is not about breathing, this is about breathing in boxing.

  • @MrSurelysure Huh? Read my first sentence again, just read it again.

  • It would've been much more useful if he explained "how it's better to breath through the nose than breath through the mouth"..

    Thanks anyways

  • If possible, wouldn't it be better to compress the air then open the mouth and strike and put chi in your opponent?

  • wat if ur sick and cant breath through ur nose

  • @PaintballingEImo Then you probably shouldn't be boxing. I'll save you some time "wat if ur sick and cant breath through ur nose"

  • looks like one of them san andreas characters

    sniff sniff

    hahah he a crackhead

  • Every time you throw a punch you breathe threw your teeth, Through your mouthpeace. If you breathe through your nose then that cuts your breath in half, you can let out a lot more air through your mouth than your nose.. Just make sure your biting down on your mouthpeace, if ya got yer jaw hanging around ya ass is gonna get knocked out. Watch any proffesional boxing match or UFC fight, When they throw a punch you can hear the SHHHH when they breathe threw their teeth. I know what im talkin about.

  • @rossjadon You're totally right. I've been told to breathe through the nose at all times and I get winded much quicker so this guy has no idea what the fuck he's talking about. So you breathe in and out your nose while you are moving and short bursts of air stiffled by mouth pressure when throwing punches.

  • @rossjadon im sure there are different techniques to breathing just because you were taught 1 way doesnt mean his way is wrong i do mma to and we are taught the same as you breath through your teeth but as hes boxing maybe they do it different

  • @rossjadon yes and you use the muscles to tense your abdomen so your give yourself a more solid defense as the 'SHHH' sound is made, right? this is good all around, better breath control + defense. thumbs up

  • I wish you were my trainer, where im from there only one boxing gym and the teacher is a moron.

  • good technique

  • @PLUOSVSEYR Yes. No one wants to get hit with their mouth open first of all.

  • so do i keep my mouth open or closd?

  • @MattHolm21 Lol closed. Youl get knocked out if its open

  • what if my nose is filled with goo that have their own lifes? No boxing gym would accept me :D

  • @xomiakas LOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!! :DDD Same here, damn sinuses.

  • @slymeadow these damn summer allergies... and I wipe it all of on my gloves so my sparring partner gets a piece of it.

  • @xomiakas that's a great tip! I'll use it!

  • im gone walk the green mile an' get right wit geezusss lol

  • whenever "expert village" fails, I just kick it in "truth town" lol

  • i thought i was suppose to breathe out my mouth when i punched. in my nose out my mouth right? can i get a reply?

  • you're supposed to exhale out your nose and make a hissing sound when you punch because it tightens up your stomach and makes it hard so if your oppenent tries to counter punch with a body shot you don't get the wind knocked out of you. this guy knows what he's talking about.

  • stand still when talking

  • I always thought that when you threw a punch you breath in... but why do you have to breath out??

  • @BellicIV

I asked my instructor that question today. His response was that you can't hold your breath forever; it will naturally escape. However, you can hold your breath and not let "new" air in. Oddly, he didn't tell me to keep my mouth closed.

  • @aminevich

arg...wrote that incorrectly. The instructor's response was: as long as you breath out, you will automatically take a breath in. My bad...sorry.

  • you can exhale through your mouth for the hiss sound but always inhale through your nose.

when I try to exhale like that through my nose snot and boogers go flying...

  • ok, so i'll keep my mouth close and control my breathing, that didn't really help much.

  • you would be surprised how many guys dont get it

  • This is what I am working on now. It is very important to handle tough rounds -- Thanks for the video

  • It Works

  • Okay, this is going to sound stupid but how do you get that hissing sound??

  • @deacon7518 act as if you were blowing your nose

  • yea I'm not going to listen to this video....

    not how i was taught

  • i do this until i get really tired then im forced to do the hissing shit

  • It sounds like he took the right subject but messed it up in delivery. You want to try to keep your mouth closed at all times as it is a lot easier to get KO'd with a loose jaw. But he started talking some stuff in this vid like "wha?"

  • he doesn't kno wtf he's talking bout, u have to exhale out ur mouth when u throw punches, the sound should resemble a hiss, the only reason coaches tell u to breath with ur nose cuz if u get punched with ur mouth open ur jaw might get broken or u could be knocked out easily

  • a hissing sound?thats what fuckin posers do

  • its clear u don't box so u really can't tell me ah damn thing about shit

  • what are you talking about? hissing releases pressure and expels a lot of pressure from your lungs making them retract which in turn brings your arms in quicker because of less tension. Sry I broke it down like that but you obviously had no idea what you were talking about. by the way the hissing sound is made by the amount of air trying to come out of a small space and it reminds you to breath which sometimes when you focus too much can be lost. Pros do this and that is why they're pros

  • that's right! hissing works for me!!! LOL

  • @Brendeenoful

    shut you ass.

  • @Brendeenoful

    /watch?v=9I28RIdYZYo

    get educated bitch.

  • Wow this is fucking shit 1 star suck my huge balls

  • ah, this is kind of strange. just BREATH!! which ever way is natural (thru mouth or nose) for you. you'll work it out. worry about your footwork, hands and head!

  • Breathing through you mouth is actually quite bad in boxing.

It can give an opening for upper for more damage,or if used throughout the match, can get caught in the stomach, making it easier for them to body punch out some vomit.

  • does anyone know if its a good idea to run while wearing a mouthpiece? I guess it doesnt matter if im supposed to keep my mouth closed, right?

  • @ezsanjose ya wear it up ur ass when u run, it makes u go quicker

  • since your the expert, do you recommend using vaseline or raw? which works best for you?

  • @ezsanjose LOL, nice one

  • the basic way to think of this is try throwing a 4 punch comb. without breathing and see how winded u are after a couple. now do it with a few breaths with the punches. I guarentee You'll feel much better breathing and ur punches will be stronger

  • maaaan...so which way is better? breathin through the nose with mouth shut or with mouth a bit opened, making that "shh" thing...

  • people help me ive recently fucked up my wrist (i dont know if its broken or fractured im not sure) and it feels like my 3rd knuckle is shattered around the bone. when i move it, it moves around alot and my theory is that could i still do boxing with hands like these ? coz ppl r sayin that u cant if ur hands r buggered up. im going to see the doctor about if they will heal or not. thanks

  • Let it heal dude. You are gonna fuck 'em up beyond repair. Let doctors or whatever look at it, and I bet they will tell you to let it heal

  • It's necessary to breath out the mouth and make the "shhhhh" sound when in training? but why do I see fighters fight making noises with their mouths, that means they open they're mouth in fight?

  • They use more power, when you exhale you use more energy than holding your breath. Thats for a more powerful punch

  • so true, good advice

  • congratulations, yer the first dude from expert village who knows wtf hes talking about

    good advice, thanks

  • LOL

  • @MtLBenzZ i know right! they always have idiots but this guys awsome

  • Some mouthpieces, have a strip hole in the middle, so you can breathe through the mouth withouth open it. I rather use my nose anyways.

  • Thanks for posting. I'm gonna try this.

  • Strenghten your diaphram by breathin out hard through your nose. Faster the air goes out, the more time it can spend goin in. Count training can help too. The idea is to control exertion through control of breathing. So you don't overwork yourself.

  • breathing was always a problem for me. i'd hear boxers "hiss" so i'd exhale thru my mouth, but when i do it with a mouth guard i shower everything with spit! so ill give my nose a go...

  • Just wait till you get hit in the nose and your eyes and everything starts to water, showing yourself with spit wont seem so bad.

The reason you want to get in the habit of breathing out your nose is it helps you control your breathing but also WHEN you get hit in the face you always want your mouth SHUT

  • why brethe thu ur nose?

  • the indians trained the kids by running them uphill and filling their mouths with water to breathe through there nose ....its good stability for your jaw youd get knocked out or suffer a broken jaw with your mouth open

  • I got punched with my mouth open once by my friend who is southpaw and I ended up biting down on my lip. I needed a couple of stitches just from biting down on my own lip. I grappled him up later for that. Nothing major kid was drunk.

  • i think u can get tired faster if you breathe from ur mouth

  • okey people, but its true 1 thing theres is a moment when u can breath by ur mouth,, !- like someone comment before, me, when ur nose its bledding ,2-. when ur opponet is far from u.... 3. when u get a devastating. body blow... i swear u will open ur mouth to breath XD

  • its good to breathe in from ur nose because ur nose takes in more oxygen to ur lungs

and u dnt want to open ur mouth coz it makes ur jaw loose n if u cop a good 1 wen ur mouth is open ull get ur jaw broken

  • Comment removed

  • shut the fuck up, will ya?!

  • no... he is actually exhaling while he is throwing a punch, it's a technique for endurance.

  • also your jaw can be dislocated if its open.

  • Jesus, it's not rocket science, if you think he's talking shite then go ahead and spar with somebody fitter than you and you'll soon see whether it works or not. And the "shh" "shh" noise comes from the nose.If you're struggling to breath properly while sparring or working the bag try blowing your nose, otherwise your body isn't relaxed enough, or you're over-exerting.Try to approach things based on the level you're at

  • so by reading some of the comments the people who make that "shh" "shh" noise are doing it wrong? and if your making or taking punches you should breath in or out ? Im just a beginner and i m training abit at home first befor going to boxing lessons. Plz give me some advice ;)

  • doesnt the mouthguard have holes to breath out of so u dont have to open ur mouth jw nice vid

  • yes it does have a breathing hole, keeping your mouth closed keep your teeth clenched tight. Thats whats its about.

  • If you are breathing through your mouth, your mouth is open and your asking to get knocked out. Every UFC fighter knows this.

Joe Rogan notices open mouths during live fights and the end result is usually an easy knockout.

Jaw knockouts occur when a persons mandable smashes into their temporal lobe which pinches the temporal mandibular nerve causing a sensory overload to the brain shutting it down. If you dont want this to happen, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!

  • wow someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

  • @Imprezaowner27 what do u mean ?

  • @Imprezaowner27 everyone in the videos know what they are talking about

  • simple yet handy advice.

  • that shh sound comes from people taking it easy and doing it wrong, at my local gym the only time the coach will tolerate even hearing that sound is from someone who just got done with their road work routine (you know, with exhaustion and all that)

  • why would you want to breathe through your mouth? you'd be making your jaw a bigger target making it easier for your opponent to catch you in it

  • what if you bleed throught your nose what then?

  • I'd say opening your mouth is preferable to suffocation, just my two cents. ;-)

Odd stuff has to happen before a bleeding nose is so bad you can't breath through it at all anymore though. The important thing is to not open wide and loose your breath control.
