  • At least get a better camera...

  • From what I've read, nobody is getting anywhere near 40 MPG highway in these cars. More like 32 MPG at best. Every magazine review seems to mention this...

  • copying saabkyle04 lol

  • man usually i hate every hyundai car or any asian car, but that car is amazing. If only someone could give me one I would be the happiest canadian ever.

  • good job on the review, way more info than the pros

  • Shoot I own a 98 LS1 Z28 Camaro and am a huge muscle car fan and even I really like these cars. They look great in person.

  • this car only seats 4 people???

  • clean your camera lens next time...lol

  • I love my '09 Charger but would trade it in for this car without blinking!! I'm really digging it

  • why arent the leds in the headlights on?

  • denton!! :)

  • I think the Veloster looks great! It's definitely one of Hyundai's new cars that would cause me to take a serious look at the brand the next time I hope to buy a car.

  • Korea is kicking Japan's ASSES.

  • ,,except the motors,,,lol

  • I love export cars =. and yet hyundai and kia are just getting better =.

  • ,,just like Samsung and LG, the Japanese are getting fat and lazy like the Americans did 30 years ago.

  • Asians rule!

  • ,,and you can thank the German design team for the styling,,lol

  • For anyone who cares (Americans maybe), this vehicle was designed AND engineered at Hyundai's Design and Engineering Center in Irvine, California>>>>>>>>

  • ,,,,by who ?, Asians ?, Germans ?, Swiss ?,,lol

  • Do they have the veloster in automatic?

  • @Slickrey Yes. It's a "Dual-Clutch" (quicker gear change) 6-speed automatic with sequential paddle shifting....

  • @nikemac84 wow cool sounds great i like this car i may pick it up. Thank you

  • Thanks for the review... nice job. Clean your lens :)

  • This guy does pronounce "Hyundai" exactly! You r the first guy I've ever met who pronounce "Hyundai" so exactly in English!! Very nice & precise to hear ur perfect pronunciation on here Youtube.

  • Very good review informative

  • I dont get why they didnt put the back doors on both sides :S

  • seen a ton of these on the road, looks good. i dont get the knock on performance, 8's are not slow, and will get you moving just fine. The ~40 MPG is what attracts me to the car

  • I don't need a car to tell me to "Drive Safely and Obey traffic laws." Geees.

  • the front look too much like pikachu especially when is paint yellow.

  • I like your Saabkyle04 style review! Awsome!

  • When is the turbo coming out?

It still needs to improve the steering response.

  • Love it. Have a 2007 Tibby right now (Purchased new) never one problem with it Hyundai has lasted much better than any of the American POS cars I have owned which all fell apart. Will trade for another new Hyundai. No repairs is more money to enjoy!

  • I WANT THIS CAR NOW!!!!

  • @MrCornellian Just bought it! ;-) Loving it!

  • @NC77583 LUCKY S.O.B :( !

  • @MrCornellian Hahahaha, but why lucky?!?! You can buy it at any corner!!! Btw mine is red and black; it has a front to back color fading!! It's red in the front and black in the back, and at the middle there's the color transition!! And, of course, the interior is the two tone black and red. WHAT DO YOU THINK?!?! ;-)

  • To much traffic noise. Barely hear engine.

  • that is a fast ass sunroof

  • now every car maker wants to have those big ass bmw gas pedals lol

  • Wow... turbo version of this car would be awesome... especially with 10 year 100,000 miles power train wanrranty, they will fix any turbo issues if it ever go bad under wanrranty.

  • wow the first two lines are copied from saabkyle, he always says that

  • LOOKs good

  • Hey dude, that engine on/off button is very exposed, so what happens if you hit the engine button with the car moving? Will it suddenly stop the engine?

  • What do you think about the rear window? Did you drive it and have a hard time with blind spots???

  • Its a nice review...

But I didnt find a mention of a spare type. Does this have one or not.

  • @gcugati if u mean a spare tire it does not have one. my only gripe with the car

  • I love this car so much! Can't wait to get it.

  • steering taken from the ford fiesta

  • i dont know if its name comes from the spanish word veloz wich means fast, if so, they got the wrong name for this car!

  • Can I get the car with factory tinted windows? Thank u in advance.

    I love this car! !!!!

  • 2012 ford focus is better and the ST going to KILL it lol and best lookin too

  • @eggfooyoung I hear a hater! yes its korean car but that doesnt mean it sucks. there's a lot of people that disagree with what you think of it :P

  • @happyturtle18 You have a good point! As someone who's only Hyundais (an Accent and a Tucson) over the last 17 years, I don't have to have listen to the off-hand "expert"opinions who pan Hyundais without knowing what they're talking about. My sister has owned an Accent since 2002, my mother has had a Sonata since 2009. All were bought new. All have been excellent cars. Let the experts bark all they want--it's just noise to me. My next car will likely be another Hyundai.

  • ,,it looks nice, better styling than any Japanese sportster, just put a Honda motor in it to make it last. (I'm sure this one used a Swiss design team)

  • Korean crap. Ugly car with a useless rear door. Didn't Saturn already try that?

  • Thank you for the great reviews. Its really nice that you go through all the features!

  • YO me quedo con mi BMW Z4 .!

  • cool man~~~~~~~~~~~

  • I have a quick question for you. I been reading around about the veloster some say that since the rear of the car is a bit slope, some people have trouble backing up because of the slop which cause a blind spot. I was wondering have you had any problem reversing/ backing up? Also another quick question, how does the engine perform since it lacks a bit of horsepower? If you can reply as soon as possible that would be awesome cause I'm planning to by one with in the next few weeks. Ty

  • Wait for the turbo. 2013 model.

  • @fuguf1sh completely agree

  • the aerodynamic sucks. the engine too

  • Excellent review.

I took the top of the line model out for a spin in Auckland NZ and loved it. Fantastic level of kit, excellent handling, wicked looking and got heaps of dumbstruck stares!!.

The Turbo will take it to the next level.

    GO Hyundai!!

  • Wow what a car , you did it Hyundai that for sure. I have 1 in orange people's just can't stop looking. Fast car for 1 that don't have turbo , if you wanna get babes easy that 1 for you!! ;)

  • IF YOU WANT A REAL 2 DOOR GET A GTI.

  • I think this guy cremed his pants when this car came out.

  • ripoff of the Volvo C30, but I'm not complaining.

  • 1st off the back is UGLY AS HELL 2nd off its SLOW AS HELL. My mazda 3 gt would blast this.

  • @0XYGENgone Motor Trend says its fast looks dont match its performance. i just saw one on the road today, its very ugly. not as ugly as the nissan juke but its pretty damn ugly. HUGE downgrade from the Tiburon which they should have never discontinued. Btw...Mazda for life! :)

  • @0XYGENgone hahah Mazda 3 isnt even in the same segment as this car, this car can be compared with yaris or maybe a mini. Genesis coupe can thrash Mazda 3 performance wise having the same price range, with 350hp and 8speed transmission. Plus, please don't criticise veloster's design, Mazda's fucking ugly as hell

  • Im a Toyota guy, and when it comes to longevity... im still not confident on Hyundai. Thats the reason why they have such an unbeatable warranty. When it comes to these new line of Hyundais, its obvious that they focused more on the looks. Smart move cuz it attracts consumers. I gotta admit...the Elantra looks way better than a Corolla, but i would still pick the Corolla for its quality.

  • Nice car but i sat in the back of one of these at the 2011 car show and man it felt like I couldnt breathe back there.

  • If you're expecting a spiritual successor to the Honda CRX Si, keep moving. This car is all style, no substance. Hyundai has yet to figure out the formula that Honda pioneered, but then unfortunately abandoned. Maybe there's hope for the upcoming turbo model, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

  • @55NoThanks revisionist history. i owned a honda crx for eight years. my veloster is actually faster 0-60 than the crx si was, it has a very useable back seat, it is way quieter, eons safer, has tons more room, a cool design and handles the curves very nicely....and gets better mileage (under current epa guidelines) except for the crx HF.

hyundai never claimed this to be the crx and thats fine. i wouldnt really want my old crx back.

  • @roxybuddychanel I didn't mean to insult your car, and I'm glad you're enjoying it. Perhaps I'll reserve judgment until I test drive one myself. However, this month's Car and Driver features a Veloster road test, and their words are not exactly kind. Then again, C&D tends to trash a lot of cars that don't conform to their standards.

  • @55NoThanks yeah ive read that. their main gripes seem to be that its not a crx (no kidding) and the steerring. no eps steering will ever feel as good as the old set ups. its the nature of eps.

one thing they got right....it IS an economy car wearing a snazzy outfit. it is not a sports car.

  • 138hp is good for little car

  • Hyundai is definitely improved !!!

  • Amazing car that I would love to own, but that is one noisy freeway...!

  • So cute

  • nice review! =)

  • i like it

  • it will come out 'turbo' next year... just wait~~

  • hahaha i like his "whats going on?" at the intro

  • Read the brochure much???

  • Hyundai Molestor What?

  • What's the size of the fuel tank?

  • to bad it only has 125 hp

  • Lots of good information in the video, thanks! Just a thought, maybe for future videos you can dub in the audio later so we don't have 15 minutes of traffic/wind noise in the background.

  • I love the look of this car!!!

  • chick car. already seen a lady over 40 driving one

  • this guys a fucking nerd.

  • Leatherette is not leather....

  • Dumbest car ever:

    1) Normal people look behind them before getting out streetside.

    2) Dangerous if you need to get out quickly in an emergency (like the fucking car's flipped or on fire or whatever)

    3) If there are 2 in the back and you're driverside, what is this - you have to climb over the other person to get out if you're getting dropped off??

    4) Driver side door now = twice the extension into the street = more dangerous.

Don't design something and then not test it in real life.

  • @MsBob933933 by your reasoning all 2 door coupes are dumb. they dont even offer any back door entrance or exit. at least this car offers an easier option when i want to have someone in the back.

please tell me you are smart enough to figure out that if you are dropping off two rear passengers that the one getting dropped off first will get in second.

  • Good review. I appreciate how thorough you are. Beep beep!

  • Looks nice but the front bumper is going have air dynamic issues.

  • i just orderd a white manual :)

  • @Nineteen1911 Better hope its not a dual mass clutch with a delay valve. I have a CDL A and have owned two manuals with over 100 miles a piece without the need for a new clutch. My 2007 Tiburon SE burned its clutch out at 50k miles due to a delay valve design. In 2003 there was a class action lawsuit with the same clutch problems, but it doesn't count for the other year cars. Hopefully they have removed the delay valve.

  • hyundi is really beginning to take over the car market

  • What a great car! Tons of features for the price! Some may complain about the lack of power, but I think there's more of an emphasis on handling than speed.

  • Just checked these out at the local dealership....nice looks, but a little

under-powered and no spare tire. The backseat is fine for shorter people, say under 5'9, but a tight squeeze for taller folks. I think I'm gonna wait for the turbo version!

  • Now seriously, that is a sharp-looking car. The interior makes it look dead-sexy. It's really a shame they chose to make it god-awful slow. Great for a 16-year-old girl with rich parents. Nice-n-slow because everybody knows that girls can't drive for shit.

  • @arikdahn Neither can people taught by their parents with no professional training and terrible habits. I see them all day, all races, sex. and ages.

  • @Warpath2198

Yeah but they're mostly non-white folks. Then again, I'm biased because I got rear-ended sitting at a stop light by an uninsured mexican dude. He was driving the most pimp 1989 civic with bright green rims and auto-zone fender vents I have ever seen! He cost me a fortune, but hey, lease he couldn't sue me when I broke his nose in as many places as 3 punches to the face could have after he waved his hands and said "No ensured! Sorry!".

  • @arikdahn Yeah some places are worse than others. Especially if you go to places like Florida or Carlson, Nevada near Reno you will see all kinds of old people on meds crashing into people lol.

  • @arikdahn 8.5 0-60 is plenty fast for every day use. this isnt meant to be a speedster. its meant to give people economy without having to drive a fit, yaris, versa, sonic, etc...

  • I would have raised the exhausts above the tag level. Wonder where the spare is located ? Those seats look mighty narrow for wide loads.

  • Honestly thank you very much for sitting in the backseat. I needed to get an idea it could fit a taller person JUST in case. Luckily my girlfriends are no taller than 5'7.

  • @Ally657 Hahahahaha holy fuck XD

  • they should have made this all wheel drive with 190 , 200 hp

  • @GoingBrushless4X4 That would easily push the price out to 25,000. At 60 months that is easily $450+ a month. They could easily get that figure down to about 17k with what you described if the govt. stopped slapping on "safety" mandatory shit on vehicles that consumers have to pay for. Vehicles even have mandatory traction control computers, ridiculous.

  • @GoingBrushless4X4 i thnk euro has awd on theres they have on there rally car

  • @GoingBrushless4X4 and at a starting price of 25k? i prefer having this car with those specs at a more accesible price

  • @GoingBrushless4X4 But then that doesn't make it fuel efficient :/

  • @GoingBrushless4X4 I think they will, just give them some time. :)

  • @GoingBrushless4X4 I'm not sure if it was 220 or not...but the turbo one will come with improved horsepowers :D

  • @GoingBrushless4X4 you know that they are making a turbo right? its gonna have around 200hp

  • @GoingBrushless4X4 and that would have cost 28k. How many people would buy that?

  • Pretty good review/walk around. You mentioned the rear headroom, but failed to mention how tall you are. How tall are you, and is most of your height in your legs or torso?

    Thanks,

    AJ

  • I was surprised at how cool this car looks on the road, it's like a hatch back Genesis. Oh and i just read they'll make a turbo version with 204hp. Toyota Xrunner owner.

  • 4:30 HORSE POWER :{

  • im sold!!! but it would be nice if they had 2 door and 4 door options. im a little ocd about balance

  • I will never buy a Hyundai but I must admit I admire that they getting better each year... Creativity, quality and ... affordability...

  • looks like a more fluid Honda CR-Z. Hyundai copying looks as always.

  • @FrencunoZeTroll Agreed... They got really bad at copying the high-end gernam Luxury sedans for a while, then they realized people don't but Merc's for the looks, they buy for quality that a Korean manufacturer cannot match. Now they are getting back to where they belong: Basic, utilitarian transportation for the next generation.

  • Hyundai has come a long way, but that car is just plain ugly.

  • Wonderful Review, Keep moving forward you know what you doing. As far as the car is concerned its amazing. I just like the Basic design of the car its looks fun to drive and have, pretty much its a Bachelor vehicle or a good first time car. Beyond that I'll buy it if I had a Job.

  • Sir, this review was legit. Thank you.

  • This is the most informative and thorough review I've seen.

    Great job!!!

  • I don't like the interior.

  • good job bro, one of the better amateur reviews, thanks i think i'll buy one!

  • I think a meltally handicapped kid made this video!

  • Really cool car. Awesome it comes with a stick. Now hyundai just needs a new logo...

  • Very good review. You cover all the things I want to know about this car!

  • I like this car a lot, but its just too expensive. A loaded one comes out to 25k or more, because Hyundai dealers are becoming too greedy and want to stab u with a higher than sticker price everytime you go to see or test drive one. For 24k on the road price, I could have a 2012 Mazda Speed 3 and it will sell much better since it holds is value. This is just an Accent with some fancy sheet metal, cool wheels and equipment.

  • im sorry but that 3rd door is fucking weird

  • Honda and Toyota WATCH OUT!

  • @kushtaaka since the veloster has 208 horse WITH forced induction, i think the only thing theyre gonna have to WATCH OUT for is their blind spot when they pull in front of it. i like this car too but the scion fr s will have the same amount of horsepower with alot more torque. oh and it only ways about 100 lbs more. OH... and thats naturally aspirated.

  • On your personell? I think you improperly using the word "personell". Try keeping the key on your person (not personell), and is it's tight for taller people (not personell). I'd also be careful about calling the plastic "leather". Oh, and also electric assisted steering would be totally different than electronic assisted steering. Are you sure it's electronic assisted?

  • Is this the sports model????

  • Looks like toyota matrix

  • I won't say that Toyota or Nissan or even Mazda are bad cars.

But over here in my country these cars are brought in as parts and put together in factories here by unprofessional employees who ruin everything.

So far the market of those 3 is sinking over here and hyundai is starting to take over.

Don't forget that kia is doing a good job too.

  • i don't think they should have slanted the roof so much, sure it looks cool but the headroom looks awful

  • Infiniti FX HEADLIGHTS STYLING....

  • nice looking car but the idea that ur still driving a Hyundai does sitting right....it's like a wannabee car.

  • @mikeymikea2z lol this kid as no idea what hes talking about. Lots of cars have center exhausts, lots of cars have vented hoods...your just embarrassing yourself here.

  • Well well, funny how they've been coping other brands, and what not and people talk shit about it, but can't deny the fact that they are doing well and growing in this kind of economy

  • @mikeymikea2z wowww ... GTC exhaust and S6 rims? .. the only common thing i see between those cars is that they have four wheels . get a life kid

  • I couldnt get past your dirty lens.

  • I'd fuck it.

  • TONIGHT IM LOVING YOU

  • Why do a lot of dumbasses on here bitch about the way you do videos? Delete and block them!

  • How much was that one u toured? I'm really interested in buying one and wondering how much is 1 fully loaded with all the features?

  • i was wondering, in my country they sell these overpriced, but that's not bothering me too much, same for rest of the brands, what bothers me is that they put unoriginal bluetooth and reverse system. claiming it doesnt exists , only in the most expensive version that is shown in this vid

, is there a way to privately making it turned on or is it possible they just took it all out completely ?

    thanks

  • Now that is a fine looking car, reminds me a lot of my Civic in terms of design touches, and pushing the frontiers of design from car manufacturers.

  • So many cars just look bland in Silver, this one actually does it justice. Maybe its because the design is so radical the usual bland silver actually helps balance it out.

  • The last button on the "remote" looks like a pig

  • Thumbs up if you thought he was gonna start up the car with the key at 0:48

  • great review

  • Good Afternoon. Too bad it's still morning where I live.

  • @blukper the driver seat actually moves up like on most 2 door cars but I agree it would be better if it had 4 doors.. nice car over all though...

  • what i like on you most is that in the end of any in depth tour you say your poinion about quality fit and finish of the car...thats a needfull opinion...anyway thanks...and sorry for my english i am greek

  • how many gallons does the fuel tank hold?

    nice video! thanks for posting!

  • @photodyl 13.2 gallons. . . . go to the website -> veloster -> specs and trim -> epa mileage estimates/fuel capacity. . . don't be so lazy : P

  • @JuggleAddict lol that is my nature. thanks man! wow you can get a lot of miles on one fill.. love this car..

  • @photodyl fair enough : ) keep in mind with these newer cars(read: economy minded engine), gas mileage depends a lot on how you drive the car. One review I read said that they got in the 25-27 mpg range in "spirited driving" which I'm sure means they drove the crap out of it. I admit when I drove it, it did make you put your foot down if you wanted to have fun, but I didn't find that to be a bad thing. I love driving my little '78 VW because you can drive the heck out of it and still be legal :)

  • @JuggleAddict ill probably do some "spirited driving" too but im planning on going on road trips with this thing, so ill be using the feature that helps you get the most mileage. i drive my parents 2010 mt tucson right now and im probably getting ~250-290 per tank (city and highway). with the veloster on the highway im sure the numbers are going to go way up!

  • Back end looks very mazda-like.

  • Best looking car on earth!

  • i dont like how he says it like bullet points he should just talk and not stop every 2 seconds. but the seats are nice kinda retro
