  • dangg... Eddie Murphey can actually sing!!! lol .. thats awesome!!

  • @MikexRayner12

Eddie Murphy put out a couple of albums and had a hit song in 85 called party all the time with Rick James. Look up "party all the time" and "put your mouth on me". Unfortunatley for Eddie Murphy he was a huge comedic star at the time he did the albums and wasn't taken seriously. Also who is gonna think that a song like "put your mouth on me" is serious?

  • I always liked this clip, comes at the end of the best of Eddie Murphy SNL video

  • wow, stevie was like 35 back then?

  • its so funny! hahahahhahahahahahahahhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • us he suppossed to be blind

  • awww i love this and i love stevie <3 so unfortunate that he had to be blind

  • I wish this clip included the part of the sketch where Eddie is trying to teach Stevie to move his head back and forth, "like someone is choking you real slow."

  • Classic. I'm pretty sure Stevie is one of Eddie's favorite guys to do characterizations of... :D

  • and now...norbit...

  • lol "it still sucks man"

  • @JBLAKIE1 Even funnier, Stevte: "What's wrong with it?!" and Eddie trying to keep a straight face. LOL!!

  • "Yeah...Still sucks steve."

    Steve: *Sad Face*

    Noooo, dont hurt steve! :(

  • eddies a asshole lol

  • Eddie's last FUNNY movie was "Life"....and he said the reason he quit doing the types of movies he USE to do is because he started having kids and he wanted his kids to be able to watch all his movies. Is a shame though...I miss stuff like Trading places, boomerang, 48 hours, BH cop, Coming to America...etc

  • @KARNEVILKLIQUE Hell yea amen to that, cuz these family movies he does now SUCK ASS. Can you say Norbit anyone?

  • @KARNEVILKLIQUE Umm Norbit Was Funny and It Had Tons Of Cursing In It...And I'm Pretty Sure His Kids Saw That!

  • @HoseaThaGreat You're kidding right? Norbit sucked fucking ass. Fucking wannabe Nutty Proffessor. I hate that fucking movie.

  • @KARNEVILKLIQUE so he started making movies that his kids can watch but no one else can stomach? I miss the old (young) Eddie.

  • @KARNEVILKLIQUE dont forget dr. dolittle

  • @KARNEVILKLIQUE "Life" ruled. Truly an overlooked little gem.

  • @KARNEVILKLIQUE :Once again kids fuck it up for grown ups

  • @Omagic29 Or maybe the grown ups fucked up by having the kids in the first place. Oh snap!!!

  • if there ever was a biopic of stevie wonder .. eddie should star as stevie.

  • eddie sounds like a younger stevie wonder.

  • Just Great!!! ;)))

  • I'm impressed with Murphy's singing at the beginning. Not bad at all. It even sounded like Stevie.

  • I remember that scene. The talent of Stevie Wonder is unbelieveable! Singing like nobody's business. Eddie funny as always. :-)

  • LOL he should of said nothing stevie wouldnt of known he was there

  • HE IS HYSTERICAL

  • The original Eddie Murphy was a GENIUS!!! why he went into children's films and stuff is beyond me!!

  • eddie was funny before his ego and agent got ahold of him.........someone tell eddie to be himslef and not do movies just aimed at the african american audience

  • if Stevie could see Eddie he'd slap his face off. lol

  • ;; Ahhahaha It Sucks Mann Lmfao

  • This was way, way back in the Day.

Not the Fred Armisen RACIAL Minstrel show it is now.

  • "Just shut the fuck up Stevie" lmao

  • Eddie sounded damn good, but Stevie =) oh how I loved him ever since my dad introduced me to his music when I was little. Now at 22 he kiccs so much ass. Ily Stevie!!!!!

  • How did he do that?!?!?

  • damn they look alike

  • It was cut out but after Stevie stopped singing, Joe Piscapo was blown away in the background.

  • love it

  • i think his singing is better live then the actual song

  • hahaha, Too funny.

  • This may sound funny to read - but some years ago, when they aired SNL's "the Best of Eddie Murphy", and they showed the full sketch, I developed a new appreciation for that song. Something about hearing it done acapella, with just the clapping. Somehow, it made me like it much more.

  • @Billinois78 I completely agree. I actually like the version he sings here better.

  • I love the full sketch. Stevie's character keeps on in that nerdy, high and nasal voice, while Eddie is trying to teach him to sing it.

  • eddie got OWNED... me makes me laugh though <3

  • @MercedesColexx WHAT DID YOU EXPECT LOL

  • it still sucks man. -HILARIOUS!!!!! HOW COULD THEY KEEP FROM LAUGHING LONG ENOUGH TO SING?

  • it still sucks man lol

  • This was back in the day when Eddie Murphy was one of the hottest young comedic talents in the business - hard to believe this skit is almost thirty years old!

Sadly, Murphy's talents have by and large gone to waste in the last ten years with drivel like "Norbit", "Meet Dave", "Daddy Day Care" & "The Adventures of Pluto Nash".....

His only saving grace has been the "Shrek" films and his performance in "Dreamgirls"......

Time to get back and show the folks just how damn funny you are Eddie!...

  • @woohooboy I liked Pluto Nash :(

  • @shrub74 - I'm afraid you're probably in the minority there. Watching this clip, you could see Eddie had a great gift for comedy. It's a pity that very few of the projects he's done in recent years have matched the great work he did back "in the day"......

  • @woohooboy Oh yeah he was great. But I'm a sucker for bad movies :3

  • @woohooboy I liked Daddy Day Care. But my favorite of his new stuff was Mushu in Mulan. Okay Shrek is good too. But you are right. Till I started seeing his old stuff on youtube I forgot how exceptionally gifted Eddie was. The difference is the new stuff is ruled by the scripts. Eddie is just another actor. The writers are the comedians!!!!!!! Sorry but the truth hurts. Eddie is relaxing and letting the writers hit the punches. He's capable of so much more. SNL had so much ad lib hilarity....

  • @Miracle490d - It's amazing the gift he had for comedy. Being all of twenty years of age when SNL hired him, he was largely responsible for holding the show together during the early eighties. Then the success he had with the "Beverly Hills Cop" films, "Trading Places", "Coming To America" etc, he also played to sold out stand up performances, the guy was comedic dynamite.....

Here's hoping he finds the right script to remind audiences just how good he is at comedy!

  • @woohooboy HE REALLY NEEDS TO GET AWAY FROM RELYING SO HEAVILY ON SCRIPTS. He needs to get back to STAND UP or an ADLIB show like SNL. EDDIE is at his best when he is his own writer!!!! WITH SCRIPTS THE WRITER IS THE TALENT. EDDIE HAS THE TALENT TO BE MORE THAN JUST AN ACTOR PERFORMING TO SOMEONE ELSE'S WORDS. I wonder when the last time he's done anything unscripted and just used his instincts to any audience has been. It would just be sad if he's forgotten how.

  • @woohooboy ...Eddie always had perfect timing and instinct to go beyond the scripts and make up comedy as he went along. He's not really using that in the movies now. He just follows the writers' comedy written out for him. On SNL I remember the tragic story of George Washington Carver. Eddie was being SOOO Serious. But the audience was in hysterics. Eddie held silent and you knew he was almost losing it & fought not to smile. Eddie-"SHUT UP BEFORE YOU ALL MAKE ME LAUGH!" Writers didn't do that!

  • @Miracle490d Haha! I think I remember that. He slipped up on a line and some of the audience started to laugh, and quickly in the tough-guy character voice he says "YEAH I MESSED UP - SHUT UP!". Then they applauded. He didn't skip a beat.

  • @woohooboy .....Eddie could make you laugh harder when you were all ready laughing without someone telling him what to say. He could feel what the audience needed to hear. He doesn't use it anymore in film. He's more actor than comedian anymore. That's why his old stuff is so much better.

  • the skits about five minutes long. show the whole thing

  • How did he hit that last note?!?.....or notes?

  • I wonder like, how it must be for Stevie to be blind from birth or something, and you know, never being able to see the audience or know how the people around him looked and stuff. He had probably no idea Eddie was rocking his head like he does, I mean, kind of a victim of bullying IDK? OK, I couldn't find a more proper word than that. He's just amazing, they're both! Stevie is such a rolemodel for people, I bet.

  • damn straight!! this video shouldn't have a single dislike. cuz it's simply just awesome!!

  • That is so funny. I don't remember seeing that. I saw him do ebony and ivory as stevie. But stevie had great humor. "still sucks" he knows its an act. LOL

  • FULL VERSION! :-) @ georgespeedys.weebly.com

  • @georgespeedys Saw it! Awesome. Its great that Stevie is trying to be funny. Then shows everyone HOW its really done! Props to Stevie!

  • lol awww poor stevie!

Eddie was like "It still sucks man"

and stevie bent his head over and frown! lol how cute!

  • is there rhe eddie murphy doing stevie in the parody commercial on here?

the canon AE1 so easy to use even stevie wonder can do it.

i believe he played tennis in the clip as well,

  • @dexterriley I forgot about that one. great commercial!!!!! i forgot all the priceless commercials they used to do. Did you find it?

  • 11KC3 ~ you're right! Though Eddie did a pretty good job, and NOBODY beats Stevie in his own songs! Awesome musician!!!! I loved SNL during that time ~ priceless!

  • Eddie murphy is lucky he's blind of he would of whooped that ass

  • He isn't blind? Either way..

  • eddie had a lil mj in his voice

  • @11KC3 maybe other parts too....

  • I love this skit!!!

  • LOL every1 watch the " Eddie Murphy - Stevie Wonder " video.. It is so damn funny.

  • @lolhahah21 Ok so we messed up, shut up! Stop clapping before y'all make me smile!
