Archos 5 with GPS

i wanted to get this but then i got the magellan 1700 instead. with some mod it be play app and movies. it also has 7 inch wide screen so its a plus. i wanted a fast responsive and very accurate gps with turn by turn street speech. and lane assistance. archos is a good device too but it isnt a real gps so magellan is good for me.

where can i buy the dock thing? just thru the archos or can i ebay or find the dock somewhere? its just plug in play right? or is there anything special i have to do

can u listen to music and use gps at same time.. i have an archos 5. thinking about getting the gps thing but its around 120+ dallors... also another question please. can i just order a gps dock thing on ebay or do i have to buy it from the ad ons in my archos.. please reply i plan on getting a gps for my car

why isn't there any roads?

I was in a new (<1 month) shopping center (Kroger) that was not on the GPS. At 2:00 you can clearly see roads when I got on the main road.

Were you able to get any map updates?

No map updates will be released as far as I know. I don't think they upgrade maps. They just upgrade devices.

is the holder needed for it to work?

Yes for the Archos 5 the holder is required, but for the new Archos 5 with Android the holder is not required.

I think you can get a accessoy that connects Archos and satellites.

how did you install the soft? because with the CD you must have an Archos 605... ??

I'm guessing the gps works faster and better on the archos 5 compared to the archos 605 since it is a faster stronger unit.
