Joshua, just wondering, how many people in the U.S. do you know who've been born with a cranio-facial disorder caused by malnutrition? ANd of those, how many were not able to get help here? For the record, Op Smile helps US citizens too...just not hundreds of thousands of our children being born with cranio-facial deformities because the mother is malnutitioned
Operation Smile DOES help people in the United States, but most people in the United States are so healthy that they are not born with physical disabilities because of the malnutrition of the mother. Rather, most of the health issues related to newborns in the states are related to drug/alcohol use.
Why is that doctors in this country(USA) can donate their services over seas... yet charge the hell of of Americans for the same services?? They never help the poor in america who have no teeth or have bad teeth for free... so what's the deal?? And don't give me that they have NO MONEY other there many of us don't either and if in reading this you don't realize that - you're a sad individual.
The poorest person in America is STILL better off than the average person in third world countries.
This disfiguring physical abnormality that severely impacts a person's quality of life is different from having "bad teeth"...if you believe they are on the same level, than you are a sad individual.
I agree. But we still have those living on the streets and they are overlooked everyday in our nations by these wonderful doctors who take care of Foreigners for free.... why is it so widely believed that Americans should not help Americans but its ok to spend billions on War but not health care??? Republicans see it that way. Thank God I am not one.
@1957joshua That would be sad. I've seen several news reports where free health care, including dentistry was provided here in the US to the public at large arenas. The news interviewed several of the recipients and they were very grateful... especially the parents of children! Also, those who need health care but can't afford it can see a Dr.or Dentist at a free clinic. The poor that are overseas don't even have Dr.'s in their villages. CHOC hospital never turn a child away due to $
it's the insurance firms that prevent these doctors to render their services , and in some situations the politcians are involved because they lobby for the insurance companies. peace.
Charice"s rendition of Smile is so soothing to the ear.......An appropriate music for this great cause...."Operation Smile" as it continue to make new smiles
congrat's Charice and listening to your beautiful voice my heart keeps beating and i'm proud of you that ure the ambasador of OS now . more blessing from our dear Lord !
Congartulations to your new ambassador Charice. Charice singing smile, and she makes us smile,. I know and I believe that she will be another instrument to let kids do smile,,,,

@1957joshua
Exactly! Americans HAVE the resources and capability of taking care of their own - but for whatever reason (GREED) they don't.
I am NOT a Republican either.

It's up to the doctor.
Some Doctors becomes doctors to make a load of cash.
Others become Doctors because they want to help people.
There are non-profit doctors who make pretty much nothing because they charge little to none for their services.
But then there are those who will charge every penny you own because they know they can.
