  • henin and federer wud make a gr8 TENNIS couple

  • Personally this is why I like Serena!! Be real about it!! She wasn't happy with her own game or with the outcome so what would be the point in fronting!!!

  • Happy henin won that match cause she's way better claycourt player than serena and she proved it by winning roland garros 4 times;

The french crowd made the good choice that all.

  • I remember watching this match live and it felt like the crowd was particularly harsh on Serena largely because she was so dominant at the time having just won the last 4 grand slams. I think they definitely reacted a lot worse than anything Serena had done deserved.

  • I really hate the french open crowd. They are some of the rudest tennis fans i have ever seen...

  • I have to disagree. They get very involved at times, yes, but not much more so than, say, at the US Open. Anyway, champions are aware they need to block everything else out but the task at hand.

  • 2 of the best tennis players ever right here. Especially Serena Williams, the CURRENT world no.1 and 9 time major champion.

  • sure champions block out everything...but serena does block out nearly everything...think about all of the comebacks she has had...this one time the crowd really pissed her off..and u could tell in her interview after this match cause she was crying

  • And the Queen wins her first RG! :)

  • Oracene was such a class act all throughout this match. *worships*

Better player on the day won so congrats to Justine even if I am in no way, shape or form a fan of hers. The Serena/Henin rivalry is one of the most interesting of all time; shame she retired and deprived us of some more!

  • Similar story happened to Maria during this years French Open with regards to the crowds behaviour. I don't know whether it's an entertainment/underdog thing but it's really difficult for the top players to cope with.

  • Okay, what the hell, why was Serena boo'd? Doesn't make sense to me. She shook the womans hand, and the the victor walked right passed Serena just as quickly as Serena did to her. People on here are saying its because shes arrogant...well the chick who won this match signed her autograph on the freakin CAMERA LENS. I didn't hear anyone boo, did you? Also, if your thinkin its because she was happy, well, Serena, #1 in the world Serena, WASN'T happy with this fluke, but still shook her hand. BS.

  • She was booed for signaling line calls not called by the linesmen or the chair, and for walking around the net at the end of the match for that cold handshake. And have you NEVER seen anyone sign on the camera lens before? If she hadn't shaken Justine's hand, there would have been bloodshed :P. This was no fluke by the way... Justine won the title and 6 more Grand Slams in the years to come. The Paris crowd gets very passionate at times.

  • the french crowd get very passionate only to players that they like. the u.s crowd, they seldomly booed. for example, this year serena against jelena. jelena was so annoying, claiming that the crowd was really distracting when before the match there was no boo to her at all. she received a booed from the crowd once, after her annoying complaint to the chair umpire but it was just like once. what happen to serena and maria is a shame. the crowd didnt act like a first world country manner.

  • I'm a huge fan of Serena but mus say that whilst watching this match.Justine worked that court like it was her last!lol..She deserves this.Wheres for the booing,SUPRISE! For someone like Serena, who wudn't feel intimidated? With such grace and power. Its like escaping a tornado! She's a fighter..and that boo thingy jus makes her stronger..so kip doing it! lol

  • Fluke? Justine absolutely owned Serena in recent years. The only reason Serena ever made it back to #1 was because Justine retired. The crowd booed her because it's traditional to shake hands across the net and especially after such a hard fought match the crowd wants to see a hug or just some kind words exchanged. Serena's a very intense competitor so I understand why she didn't do that, but that doesn't mean that the way she acted doesn't appear cold or unsportsmanlike to the audience.

  • justine didnt own serena...serena spanked justine a couple times and justine spanked serena...i still think serena is the better grass and hardcourt player but the serena was injured in wimbledon and it went 3 sets...justine just plain beat serena at the us.open though

  • Justine has always been one of my favorites! I remember seen this live. Very good match. She certainly deserved to win.

  • Wow! This was an exciting match! Thanks for uploading!

  • you don't understand the french crowd????

It's just because SW is too much full of herself, she always have been.

When you're that kind of person you don't have to wait to be appreciate.

  • You know what?

I don't understand why people say that Serena is full of herself. What is that based on??? huh? please enlighten me?

Federer, Rafa, Sharapova, and a couple other players have their names on their freaking shoes... does that make them full of themselves??? Serena doesn't have her name on her shoes...People just automatically wanna hate on her because she's arguably the best and she knows it. She's probably not the MOST humble, but I definitely don't think that she's conceited.

  • She is a unique character, essential to tennis, even if she can come off as arrogant at times. She has earned it too, I suppose, being the great champion she is. But people should not overlook her transgressions when they talk of other great players being poor sports(wo)men.

  • where's the second set?

  • It is one thing to support your favorite and another thing is to be poorly educated, as was the French crowd against Serena Williams, she in all its corrections was right, I did not understand the French crowd in this match...sorry

  • I just want to say first...that I don't really care who was in the right or the wrong...but as someone that has gone to the French Open (I went last summer and watched the ladies final between Henin and Ivanovic) I can promise you that the crowd is ANYTHING BUT uneducated...they were rude, as many sports crowds are, but the people that can afford to go to this are educated I can assure you...

  • maybe because you're not french, i'm belgian and I understand very well why they are like that with her!

Nobody like William's sister, they are so arrogant, and people in france, belgium, and so many other country from europe doesn't like that!

  • lol...

how did my video end up here?

i'm the one who uploaded this onto a tennis forum and sorry guys, the tape ran out when serena had a set point. it's not the uploader's fault.

  • Hopefully she will get her back at this years French open 08

  • Surely we should not treat each other with contempt for expressing opinions, by the same token...what an exciting match this was. I think the crowd were against Serena purely because she was the favourite. The crowds at the French and Wimbledon are notorious for their support of the underdog. I like Serena, but her arrogance sometimes annoys me, she is a great player though.

  • I would like to point out that the crowds at the US open the same year, during the semi against Capriati, cheered Justine's serve faults and made catcalls on several occasions. Happily, she didn't let it get to her. It happens, the public can have an overwhelming favorite, the question is how well can you handle it? That is not to justify the behavior, but it should not be held responsible for a loss.

  • Wow, you deleted my comment, just like you deleted Serena winning the second set. Classy. If you're not going to let people comment on the videos you ILLEGALLY upload to YouTube (As I'm sure you do not have the copyright clearance to do so) then disable comments.

  • The fact that you choose to watch an illegally uploaded video and even have the nerve to flay the uploader shows how tenuous your moral boundaries themselves are. Can't help it if you ignore my message where I CLEARLY say any inflammatory comments will be deleted. If you so badly want to see your comments in print, there are plenty of videos where people gleefully lash out sans restraint. YOu are sure to have great success there.

  • Were they inflammatory because I pointed out why I no longer liked Justine after this match because she did not admit to the umpire that she had her hand up or that she went before the media afterwards and said that it "was not her job" to make the calls on the court? That is hardly inflammatory. If you disagree with my comments give me a thumbs down. Don't delete them. I'm sorry you don't value free speech, but you should read Youtube's guidelines on what constitutes inflammatory speech.

  • Lets just say that the incident attracts too much bile from both camps(look at other videos from the match, they are filled with loathsome abuse): I as a Justine fan do not think she was at fault, and to be fair, it IS the umpire's job to make the calls, but that's a story for a different day. Let us leave it at that, any constructive comments are well appreciated. And as the owner of the video, I get to monitor what goes on here, which is only fair. No offense intended.

  • i agree well said

  • they probably did all that in retaliation to how much support Justine got at the French...

  • serena must take revenge to her lost in that match and as well in some other grand slam loses........,to henin...

  • I know hopefully she does it this year because she's looking pretty good after winning bangalore. But she did get revenge already by beating her badly at wimbledon after this french open!! The french crowd was out of control during this match and their usually known for being classy..

  • Yea I know but on clay would be even betta semis or finals would love to see a pay back win on Justines surface lol

  • in that match I think serena did'nt play her best tennis........

  • ALLEZ JUSTINE! this goes down as one of the best macthes in roland garros history!

BRAVO JUJU! bring on RG 2008!~

  • Did you cut out the ending of Serena winning the second set on purpose?

  • I did nothing of the sort and do not need such low and common tactics to express support for Justine. This is the exact state my video file is in.

  • I'm not attacking you. I just wanted to know... dont be so mad. C'mon, its the obvious question to ask when only that part of the match was cut out. I very much appreciate you posting what you could!!

  • in the end, serena let the croud get to her, and I think the croud was a little unfair. . .but its all good now, they are both still playing so thats a plus. .

  • allez justine i love u so much

  • clutch tennis from both players!!

  • thank you for uploading this match.Allez ju!

  • the crowd werent so bad in this game

  • Allez Ju.

  • thx a lot man! intense match ... so much tension and i feel for serena

  • well atleast she looked cute
