(Contd) Central Asian music is generally based on minor pentatonic scale (yeah the good old minor pentatonic lol) So anyway my point is it doesn't have to sound very oriental you know :P Check out songs dombra and adai they are awesome (like ancient black metal or something lolz) You could also check out alevi/alawi songs (semah) with baglama. They use baglama in their religious rituals and the songs are usually very authentic and "groovy"
nice performance, tho the scale you are playing is too oriental / egyptian sounding for my taste Baglama is used for playing in a lot of styles & scales(as it has additional sub-notes that do not exist in the chromatic scale) and definitely those include oriental sounding ones too. But the roots of baglama lie in central asia, and it is thought to be evolved from instuments such as kopuz(qobuz) and dombra.
I have been playing bass and guitar for about 7 years now. I wanted to learn something more ancient and exotic, so I read into many middle eastern instruments. I found the Bağlama to be very interesting, so I purchased one and taught myself to play it.
