I hope there are more farmers like him, it's really nice to see that those chickens are able to walk around the fields, stretching their wings than being kept in small cages and not being able to move around much. I would buy eggs from him, looks really organic, fresh and also healthy :P
thats how domestic animals should raise to get the products for example chickens, eggs, beef , goat meats. its worth living then in this world. thanks and keep doing good work. :D
i respect you i worship you, i really did not think that there are farmers out there that care for their animals where they treat them as lifes rather then objact, so thank you best of luck i hope KFC follows you step i hope more farmers do this
@njaln :yes, and if hens are all treated like this less people gonna be able to eat eggs. I know how other farms treat hens are cruel, but they make eggs more affordable for poor people and children in these crazy days.
@uyenst Then i think eggs should be exslusive for people with money, then the poor people could hae something to work up to, and it´s not that bad in price.... it ain´t caviar!!
this is great, Once the chickens are in the field must they be left there.. or can you bring some into little areas in a food forest to weed, till and fertilize... Also, Cool that the big coop is on wheels, like a chicken tractor, but are you collecting the chicken waste for fertilizing? or are you going to eventually turn that field into a garden?
@ datzfast: portable sheds have been around more than a century. Snow on the ground = more feed/less grazing. Hens will do quite well below freezing...heat kills many more chooks than cold...he needs more shade trees! With the sheds being moved twice per week, the litter runoff will never accumulate to a problem level. He appears to have a very sustainable operation. Nice setup!
moveable sheads are brilliant, tell me in winter with snow on the ground do many freeze to death. also do you bribe inspectors that regulate litter runoff.
I will always buy my food from farmers who prove they care about their ecology and the results proven in their product. Unless you like shitty tasting food derived with synthetics/chemicals/carbon footprints of course.
those dogs looked kind of mangy and im sure that those chickens get problems and deaths too they jus ddnt show it .........barn raised hens gt a gud life too its only caged birds that is unfair and unhealthy on the hens

@64allybaby The dogs are beautiful and healthy. They are a breed that live with the chickens, or sheep or penguins even. Maremmas are awesome protectors. This is the very best environment for egg production, the hens are happy and healthy
What on earth are you talking about you twit? Who is 'forcing' anyone to become vegetarian or vegan? Who has even remotely suggested such a thing? I believe we should try to persuade people with logic, inspiration and a positive example. I really get turned off places like this full of people simply looking for a fight instead of seriously want to think about something. So boring.
If we can't afford to produce something without pain and suffering, then it should not be produced at all. There are vegetarian/vegan alternatives. Why should any animal have to suffer because for the pleasure of our taste buds. Most of us agree that might does not equal right, yet when it comes to the relationship between us and pretty much every other living thing on this planet, that basic principle breaks down.
@69Fesoj There are vegetarian/vegan alternatives... but why should we start eating only vegetables, fruits etc. just because of people like you that try to force people to go vegan it's your choice do what you what and don't force some one else too- Basically religion too involved in that last part.
congrads u get it makeing money isnt every thing it is good to make money but u have to take care of animals and make them happy and u have to love what u do
@etxreabel You heard the man, he can't even keep up with the demand for the eggs, sounds like a good market for people to enter and make some big bucks!!!
@69Fesoj Just like it should be mandatory to be vegan? Not everyone in the world is willing to pay the higher prices of organic foods. It costs a lot more to raise chickens this way. If you take a business class, or economics class, you'll know what I'm talking about.
@14jetblack There wouldn't be enough eggs for the world :P either that or egg prices would be more than quadruple to keep the demand in check. This is just another market sector to focus on, organic eggs, it's nice for the birds, but unless people are willing to pay a lot more for eggs it won't work well. You can't mass produce this to reach higher economies of scale. It works well if there are a few people doing it like this, but not if everyone does it like this.
@14jetblack That's why I said we could all go vegan in another comment, but I don't think that'll happen unless we're forced into it. It would be nice if humans and animals could all live in harmony. One of the biggest problems is that this world is consumer driven and if we can't make money off something or it costs us lots, then we end up not doing it.
@14jetblack I agree more farmers should fallow this lead but its our fault our food is treated the way it is. Think about it. We typicaly woud buy a dozen eggs for 2 or 3 dollars over the 12 dollars this farm charges retail(!!!)...us...we're doing it because we keep paying the farmers to do it. We chose the roach hotel hens over the Hilton hens because of ...yes, price.
You are amazing <3 this video gives me so much more faith in humanity, this is the way things are meant to be. If only more people could see that cramming as many hens into one cage as possible is not the way forwards :(
Keep it up :D Your hens all look so happy, thankyou for caring and giving them the wonderful lives they deserve :D
ahh just perfect! I echo everyone elses view: this is how all farms should work. If you are going to use an animal for a food source it should be given the best life and care possible, just like this guy is doing :) Very refreshing!
What a wonderful video! So refreshing to see a video about someone who cares about the welfare of his animals rather than forcing them into a miserable existence to exploit every last penny out of them. I understand what others say about being a hypocrite, but to me it's all about how the animals are treated while they're alive, not whether or not we eat them. That's just my two copper pieces though. Anyway, great video, and I wish I lived on that farm!
What a contrast from how these chickens are treated from the video, "The Egg Industry Tortures Little Babies" that VeganShout posted. This video clearly demonstrates that there is a relationship between the quality of life given to the chickens to the quality of eggs they produce. I know, in the end we eat the chickens, I feel somewhat of a hypocrite, but still there is no reason for the some egg factories to treat the chickens the way they do. Thanks for posting the video flashtoons!
all natural, imagine how nourishing and healthy can the eggs be,great video. I love America poultry farming. Tony sir you are an inspiration.

If the governments let farmers do whatever they want to do, free market (customers free to choose) would select and favour the best products.
Therefore it's in everyone interest to change the political system to libertarian.
