They "literally conquerors of the world"??? When did they take over the world? Did they have thermonuclear weapons? Which nuclear power was first to surrender? When did they give the planet back? Are they still running things, or they all abdicate?
Does anyone speak English anymore? Are they sending a Death Squad after me?
@BettyVanSneeIV Can you say metaphor ? Do you know the facets of the language or are you just being (a) blunt (indicative rhyming and/or slang my occur) ?
Problem. Idea. Plan. Journey. Shelter. Joy. Obscure. Silence. Trust. Sorrow. Escape. Fate. Detour. Accident. Caution. Retreat. Compromise. Solitude. Tendency. Fear. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. YESTERDAY IS HERE. Are you reliving it? Time will tell.
Keith is absolutely correct. The Stones taught most bands "how to do it." And yes I am sick of the push button so called music that's out there today. It sucks! I stopped buying music post 1992 unless the music is from a band from the 60's , 70's or 80's. You can keep all the America Idol crap for the posers.
I love how they always say that in '78 Keith put his drug problems behind him. Not true. He just kicked heroin. But every other drug know to man was still fair game. Haha. Hey, he's still here ain't he. He should live to be a hundred! If he ain't dead by now, he ain't never gonna die! Fine by me.
this is interesting, I saw a different part of this 1988 interview with Richards that brought up Rap music and DJ music. Keith said, "that guys stealing your lick"
as a response to DJ sampling. I remember The Stones never gave credit to many old Blues musicians whose music they played like Robert Johnson's Love in Vain.
Get Your Ya Ya's out vinyl version states "traditional song" and no credit to Johnson. Funny how its okay for them to "steal or borrow" but not others.
I love the Stones and I love Keef, but in every interview of Keef that I've ever seen, he always sounds totally pissed. I think he's the funniest person in the whole of Rock n Roll - what a legend!
My opinion, had the Stones made a Keef directed record in '88 it would have been the best record since Some Gilrs...but that rushed Steel Wheels stuff sucked.
Interesting interview. And this confirms what I think. In the eighties, before the 1981' tour, Mick and Keith are somewhat separated doing differents things, but the friendship between them, come to the conclusion that only together and the rest of the band, it's the only way of pure and genuine rock n' roll don't die! And the prove is: Today The Stones are the bests! That's all...
It's surprising that Keith pointed the direction of the group after TATTOO YOU, got the staleness out and push Mick to move on! I wondered who or what was the engine driving the stones, it was Keith! Right on Keith keep rolling don't gather any moss.
Reaally, hmm, I think there's more to it than that. Mick's BIG ego, is a major foundation for all the goings on, the driving force, that pushes past all the mistakes, and bitternesses, and creates love, rebellious silver shining love perfection.
Fact is, Stones hung in there, stuck together, broke up, got back together, had the heart to do what it takes, straight from the heart, and they are still ticking and collaborating.
love the stones
