fucking idiots should be owning labs not pit bulls if you believe that pit bulls can love all dogs. how the fuck can they say that? when pit bulls were bred solely for dogfighting and its what CREATED the breed. And they are telling me after 3 generations they can make it love all dogs ? shows how stupid this person is. HAHAHAH. sadly but its true. i feel bad for any real pit bull this bitch owns. but i doubt she ever owned a real one. probably just a mutt or a shell of a real apbt.
Terriers were bred to kill small rodents, and with socializing I've seen terriers adopt rats as friends, even as pups.
I said nothing about love, I said you can change its disposition, which then means you can socialize it. Socializing doesn't mean it "loves everything," but that it is tolerant of everything, and may even, yes, like/love things you find difficult to accept.
You show lack of knowledge by taking a simplistic attitude.
To be blunt, this person shows great skill socializing her dogs, & shows great love & detail to their care. The only one here who's dogs should be pitied are yours, because you've already assumed they're 'natural born killers' who will one day 'snap.'
You show no interest in learning the truth about canine behavior, & simply insist you *must* be right, because you've *seen* it. You've obviously seen squat, & understand even less.
If you can't handle that much dog, you shouldn't own one.
Why dont you attend an AADR or ADBA american pit bull terrier dog show. And ask them if pit bulls will snap on other dogs at any given time. Lets see what they say. You fucking idiot.
PIT BULLS ARE GREAT DOGS YES. But you need to remember they are also the best fighting dogs and that is for a reason. you cant fucking out train genetics you dumbass little shit. i wouldnt be surprised if you think dogfighting is wrong and that the hsus loves pitbulls. its people like you who are ruining thebreed
If you knew anything of the dog show world, you would know those animals are bred for looks, specifically. Most are not even obedience trained, and only know the show loop in the ring and the behaviors entailing that activity.
There is no "best" fighting dog. That would be the opinion of a punk dog fighter with no knowledge or life. There have been numerous "fighting" dogs built, then turned into family dogs. Its your attitude that holds them back.
You are kidding right? If you been to an american pit bull terrier dog show you would know that it is ENOURAGED for these dogs to growl and want to fight the other dogs at the show. You get points for this.. The judges like to see a pit bull all fired up as if it would fight . they judge on the dogs performance and act as if it would fight . they like to see this.. its not all about looks. i rest my case.
I know for a fact that if a dog shows aggression in show, that he is immediately expelled from show work, and is quite often banned. No judge wants a "fired up" dog when they're evaluating their tooth structure. You're just making up more nonsense "facts" that you would *like* to be true.
You rest your case after having not presented one at all. You make clear your inexperience and lack of knowledge with every claim you make.
And you haven't explained what is "right" about dog fighting.
I rest my case. Deadlychinchilla is a jackass. IN AN AADR DOG SHOW FOR AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIERS, THEIR IS A PART IN THE SHOW WHERE THE DOGS ARE PUT CLOSE TOGETHER. AND THE DOGS ARE JUDGED ON THE AGGRESSION DO THE DOGS. I rest my case, you did not know this.. Which proves my point on how stupid you are.
And what is wrong with dogfighting? The dogs enjoy it and want to fight. They are doing what they were bred to do. It also PRESERVES the breed. Go find a pit bull attack b4 1976-legalb4then
Ah, I see. Now I'm a "jackass." I'm not a professional animal trainer who's telling you where to put your made-up nonsense.
No show judges dogs on aggression shown to other dogs. If dogs in show demonstrate aggression, they are BANNED. All professional orgs do this. If you saw something different, it wasn't a professional org, but a wanna-be contest. There are plenty of losers out there wanting to show off their lack of testicles by competing with dogs honed for vicious traits.
Dogs do not enjoy fighting. They avoid it at all costs in natural settings, because injury is pointless. When you treat dogs like shit, you get a fighter as theres no other outlet. Also, beyond being illegal, it does not hone any breed talent.
I could sense you were just a loser emoting through your dog. You expect it to enjoy fighting, be crippled, scarred, then die for some 5 min thrill in a destitute ring.
I'm done here. Whine on. Losers always need the last word to pump their ego.
They dont avoid fighting. LOL. You are seriously stupid. Dogs that fight are just exercised before a fight and then they are put in a ring. The dog has to attack the other dog and pass the scratch line to fight. If it shows no interest in fighting the dog loses.. Their is no cry or whelping in dogfighting. The dogs love it, they act the same way they do when they are playing fetch or on the flirt pole. And um no, dogs dont die in dogfights. ITS RARE. Shows your ignorance.
I've already explained how we are able to alter behavior and genetics through breeding. Read back if you want those comments.
Older fighting dogs are family dogs today. The APBT is young in comparison to some, yet rumors of *snapping* or *turning* don't persist with those breeds.
The comments *I* responded to were in regard to snapping/turning. If you can't read the comments mine are meant for, how can you speak on the conversation?
And when did I say dog fighting didn't happen any longer? You keep jumping to conclusions.
"Being a dog trainer is one thing but knowing how to recognize dominance, excitement, and aggression issues and knowing how to curb them is another story."
And with that absurd comment, you prove you have no idea what training is about. Do you understand the term "behavioral expert?" Dominance, excitement, and aggression are behaviors, last I checked. Or are you under the impression trainers just ignore those?
I also NEVER advocated letting a dominant dog walk over its 'sweet' owner.
Being a *successful* dog trainer does make me a behavioral expert, as does my professional schooling. You could hardly be able to judge if I am a "shitty" trainer by a few YT comments, and suggesting you could is pretty judgmental.
You do not create a fighter by being a good owner. You can miss a cue/reason as to a behavior, & assume things from that behavior, as many people do, but even a *snap* does not make a dog a fighter. You're jumping topics, mixing my responses, & assuming, AGAIN.
We haven't even been talking Cesar and his honors, so how would you *know* I'm full of myself? You just keep on assuming and insulting.
And *when* did I say "all you need is training"? Because I DIDN'T. Another assumption on your part that I would for some reason ignore the individual dogs needs and personality for the sake of being "well" trained.
And further, as I *already* said once before, the topic was an overall breed and such trends, not individual dogs, as you keep pushing.
And, to be blunt, I'm not convinced you aren't Jelet55 under a different name. As he's already established himself as an uneducated, dog fight loving, unknowledgable person in the ways of canine behavior, you can hardly expect your insults to really impact me.
When you've read all the comments and actually respond with my comments in context, I'll be back with you to debate some more. But if you're only interested in cursing, judging, and insulting, I'm really just not interested.
What about dogfighting is "right?" I'd love to hear your justification for acting like an animal. And what is a "hsus?"
If anyone is "ruining the breed," its people who allow them to *snap* like you do. You have no knowledge, no control, and you likely ENCOURAGE the behaviors you say are inevitable for which you then blame the dogs.
Unless you have something intelligent to say, I'll be done. I've no patience for punks looking to make up for their lack of testicles by ruining good dogs.
it is impossible to breed out DA without also breeding out some of that drive, determination, and indomitable character the breed is famous for. It is these same qualities that allow these dogs to perform tasks and jobs at level most other dogs cant. The sports these dogs excell at like weight pulling, agilty, flyball, as well as some of the jobs; from helper and therapy dogs, to police k9, would suffer. If you took away their drive, or gameness.
Again, you are wrong. It is quite easy to breed for certain traits, or for an absence of certain traits, without altering the dogs 'type'. The doberman of a family is just as capable in working as a 'german' working doberman, they are still the same breed despite divergent purposes.
You should remember, you're talking to a dog TRAINER. I work obedience, agility, and personal protection on a daily basis. You're not going to pass off your made-up nonsense on me.
the drive of a working german line of doberman is going to be more genetically driven to be a working class dog than a line of american dobermans used strictly for shows. just like a pitbull line bred to fight will be more prone to fight then a dog bred from dogs that have been more calm submissive. not to say an american doberman cant work, but the germans are going to be faster learners when it comes to catching on to their job.
There is no divide in intelligence between a "german working" dobe and a "US family" dobe. The only difference is in their work drive, also noted as their intensity. I've trained both, and both are fantastic learners, and both are perfectly capable of doing the job. Just because its a family dog does not mean they are born "calm submissives." Family dobes simply display their dominant traits differently, which was the point in selectively breeding for such traits.
Wrong again. The german dogs are larger with a more focused work ethic. Nothing has been done to 'weaken' the breed, or make them less intelligent. Anyone that tells you they aren't the same breed is caught up in a game of semantics, they are all doberman.
Every dog has its own personality and level of intelligence, but this wasn't the topic. We're talking the scope of the entire breed, via genetics and breeding.
And again, I didn't SAY they were all "genetic copies." You're assuming.
we've all heard that saying "Boys will be boys." Well the same goes for this breed. "Pit Bulls WILL BE Pit Bulls!"
I have owned pits that get along their entire life. But the fact of the matter is that for no apparent reason all hell can break loose.
Socialization is not everything. You can socialize a poorly bred dog all you want but it still will be a peice of shit and bite. ITS CALLED GENETICS. PIT BULLS WILL TURN ON OTHER ANIMALS. (but never humans) GOOD MANAGEMENT/PREVENTION IS THE KEY!
Yes, pits will be pits, & pits are not born killers, they are family dogs. If YOU have a family structure that promotes its ok for your dog to *snap,* that is YOUR failing. Its the same as having a 'racist' dog, its never the dog, always the owner. You've a lot to learn about canine behavior.
Genetics are easily changed, we've been doing it since we started breeding 'purebreds'. Pits will no more 'turn' on something than you would... though it looks like you might 'turn' on me any second.
Don't be such a drama king. Any well-socialized dog can be around any other animal. My doberman absolutely adores my dutch rabbit, even lets him 'beat him up', as much as a rabbit can.
You obviously never owned an American Pit Bull Terrier. These dogs are one of the safest breeds to have around HUMANS. With that being said, with animals its another story.. I'v seen these dogs raised with one another for 6 years. Then they turned on the dog and fought them. It has nothing to do with socialization.
You cant get rid of genetics. Thats why its not recommended to take them to dog parks even if they are good with other dogs. They can change at any second.....
The "they'll turn on you" has long been proven overdramatic and false.
Also, I'd be careful who you judge frivolously. I've been training dogs for 9 years, and can confidently call myself a behavioral expert.
Socialization is almost everything. Also, these breeds are not being bred to fight anymore, unless you're talking unscrupulous breeding for illegal activity. Your day-to-day APBT is bred for families, and any animal can be incorporated into that family with proper socialization.
WRONG. You can not get rid of hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years of genetics just from "socialization"
I been with these dogs my life. And what "they will turn on you" ?? I said they will TURN on other animals not humans. I'v seen dogs raised together for 5+ years and then one day they snapped. Its people like you that give this breed a bad rap. Because of ignorance towards this breed. This is a perfect example of who should not own this working breed. Get a fucking lab not a pit.
You can alter the genetic disposition of a dog in under 3 generations. Thats not years, thats generations. Granted, you should be breeding dogs under a year old, but it can be done. Louis Dobermann created the 'classic' Doberman in under a decade from scratch, and now they're a 'family' dog too.
Dogs do not *snap.* Dogs react to outside stimuli, usually directed from its pack members and social leaders, which are usually their human owners.
No you cant. As i said. I'v owned real apbt's and iv seen it happen many times. My dogs were raised together but they will be sleeping together on a couch and will all of a sudden fight each other. For NO REASON.
You have alot to learn deadlychinchilla. Its a shame that their are idiots like you that own this great breed. You cant change a dogs genetic disposition in under 3 generations. if so , then why do pit bulls turn on other animals at any given second. iv seen it ha ppen many times
Many people own dogs and don't know a dewclaw from a toepad. As I said, if thats what you promote in your family dogs, maybe its something in YOU that you need to recognize and deal with.
There is ALWAYS a reason. ALWAYS. You obviously don't know the reasons dogs will fight, so you ASSUME it was no reason, then claim it *snapped.* Its a load of BS.
Just because you don't know the reason does not mean there isn't one.
I already explained that we change their genetics all the time.
people need to see more of those vids: it shows that a pit can be a GOOD dog!! this might help in changing the rep pits have!! kudos and thx for uploading it. it's saved in my favs
@mvincens28 never said pits aren't good dogs, just stated that we need those kinds of vids to alter the opinion of alot out there, mine is a wire fox (ergo my channel name) and that breed also has a bad rep so when they meet mine they are shocked as to how sweet he truelly is
OH MY GOODNESS! When the bunny hops back over to Sharky and looks up at him and then Sharky grooms it-priceless! :) I just love your pets, they are so precious.
The baby bunny is adorable!! It was so cute when Sharky gave him a kiss =) I bet Jesse would love to meet a bunny, that would be a cute pic ;) ~Heather and Jesse~
i've said it before and i'll say it again: this dog is the most unbelievable dog ever! i saw him with the chicks and now with the rabbit~~~so super sweet!
Qui peut encore dire que les pit bull sont méchants de nature quand on voit ça !!! Il n'y a que des hommes pour les rendre agressifs et les entraîner dans leur violence ! comme quoi, quand on veut, tout le monde peut s'entendre...
the rabbit has slobber all over him LOL Love the pibbles

Don't be such a drama king. Any well-socialized dog can be around any other animal. My doberman absolutely adores my dutch rabbit, even lets him 'beat him up', as much as a rabbit can.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago
You obviously never owned an American Pit Bull Terrier. These dogs are one of the safest breeds to have around HUMANS. With that being said, with animals its another story.. I'v seen these dogs raised with one another for 6 years. Then they turned on the dog and fought them. It has nothing to do with socialization.
You cant get rid of genetics. Thats why its not recommended to take them to dog parks even if they are good with other dogs. They can change at any second.....
Jelet55 2 years ago
The "they'll turn on you" has long been proven overdramatic and false.
Also, I'd be careful who you judge frivolously. I've been training dogs for 9 years, and can confidently call myself a behavioral expert.
Socialization is almost everything. Also, these breeds are not being bred to fight anymore, unless you're talking unscrupulous breeding for illegal activity. Your day-to-day APBT is bred for families, and any animal can be incorporated into that family with proper socialization.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago
Jelet55 2 years ago
You can alter the genetic disposition of a dog in under 3 generations. Thats not years, thats generations. Granted, you should be breeding dogs under a year old, but it can be done. Louis Dobermann created the 'classic' Doberman in under a decade from scratch, and now they're a 'family' dog too.
Dogs do not *snap.* Dogs react to outside stimuli, usually directed from its pack members and social leaders, which are usually their human owners.
Cursing betrays your lack of actual argument.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago
Pardon me, "shouldn't be breeding" yearlings.
DeadlyChinchilla 2 years ago
No you cant. As i said. I'v owned real apbt's and iv seen it happen many times. My dogs were raised together but they will be sleeping together on a couch and will all of a sudden fight each other. For NO REASON.
You have alot to learn deadlychinchilla. Its a shame that their are idiots like you that own this great breed. You cant change a dogs genetic disposition in under 3 generations. if so , then why do pit bulls turn on other animals at any given second. iv seen it ha ppen many times
Jelet55 2 years ago
Many people own dogs and don't know a dewclaw from a toepad. As I said, if thats what you promote in your family dogs, maybe its something in YOU that you need to recognize and deal with.
There is ALWAYS a reason. ALWAYS. You obviously don't know the reasons dogs will fight, so you ASSUME it was no reason, then claim it *snapped.* Its a load of BS.
Just because you don't know the reason does not mean there isn't one.
I already explained that we change their genetics all the time.

people need to see more of those vids: it shows that a pit can be a GOOD dog!! this might help in changing the rep pits have!! kudos and thx for uploading it. it's saved in my favs
whirefox 2 years ago 5
@whirefox Pits are good dogs, but some of the people who own them aren't good people.
mvincens28 5 months ago
@mvincens28 never said pits aren't good dogs, just stated that we need those kinds of vids to alter the opinion of alot out there, mine is a wire fox (ergo my channel name) and that breed also has a bad rep so when they meet mine they are shocked as to how sweet he truelly is
But agreed: problem is the owners, not the dogs

That's a cute bunny rabbit. It's amazing how tolerant Sharky is around all these animals. Maybe it's because he is used to being around them alot?
Most dogs I know would be chasing the poor bunny (for fun).
