@jaspertheking4life If I remember well, we didn't use any mod. We just built only the necessary buildings to save pop points, and then we just produced the creatures. I am pretty sure there are some cheats for increasing/removing pop limit, but I am not so sure if they work in multiplayer. Anyway, we didn't use any cheats/hacks/mods:-)

lol i remember when i was playing and i was playing the last level on the good campaign and these two trolls some how became invincible and i had to send my whole army to distract while my heros finished the mission.. Took them 40 mintues to destroy my enitre army lol
yeah... Attack Trolls are tough, especially in a group, but the Uruk's elongated pikes give them too great an advantage. They stay farther away than any other pikeman, which screws the attack trolls who have to close distance after every swing. Even without the rest of those guys those pikemen might very well have been able to hold them back. However, Olog's roar can make a group of attack trolls basically heros, each and every one of them, which quickly puts down any army.

archers with fire/silverthorn arrows rape shit in this game, if he would have just kept it with swordsmen and pikemen then the trolls would have had a chance. But the archers did pretty much all of the damage.

You are right, the races in bfme2 are not evenly balanced, so the only mordor's tactics is to send one wave after another and hope that the enemy won't have a chance to mount a counterattack. Races in rotwk are balanced much better, so it is impossible to destroy a whole enemy army with just a single custom hero.
I disagree, I think the heroes are *extremely* unbalanced. Armor, for example, is by far the most powerful stat (though not many people know that). But if you were to load up a dwarf hero with ~19 armor, they're almost invincible. Combine that with any combination of the extremely over-powered dwarven custom hero powers and you have an army-killer right there.
Still though, I freaking love this game! It's soooo much fun! ^_^
Dwarven heroes are the most powerful, however I think that's because the dwarves specialize in close, hand-to-hand combat so their heroes are a brutal force at close range. Elven heroes are good at range and Men of the West heroes are all-around. As for the stats, I pay attention to just 3 stats when making a hero - strength (power), armor, health. Vision and health reg. aren't so important imho.
Even with a health regen. of 2, your hero will still regenerate very quickly. And armor is the best attribute because every point put in armor has a larger impact on the stat. Points in health and strength give much smaller increases to their respective stats than a point in armor. That's why it's always better to max armor and put no extra points in health than an even split. Your hero will end up with ~3,000-4,000 health even with only a few points spent in the stat... lol
Now the reason dwarven heroes are the most powerful are because of the possible skills they can learn. If you look at the Men skills you'll see things like Athelas and Elendil. If you look at the dwarven powers, you'll see artillery strikes, berserk, earthquake... far more dangerous abilities, especially to an enemy army. Don't get me wrong, all the heroes are very good, well above most default heroes. Still, the dwarves are significantly unbalanced. ...imho ;)
You are right, but it doesn't apply to the rotwk add-on. There it is not possible anymore to, for example, assault and destroy an enemy base just with 2 powerful heroes like in bfme2. Some say that Angmar is overpowered (like Dwarves in bfme2) but they don't seem that strong to me. However, I like playing with them:-)
Actually... now that I think of it, RotWK balances it out much more. Because they changed the hero cost system, those dwarven powers make them more expensive. Anyway, great game.
So is Angmar your favorite faction? They're all so fun! ^_^
Yep, I like Angmar and Isengard out of evil races and Dwarves and Men out of the good ones. BfME2 and RotWK are imho the best games from Tolkien's world. Btw. fancy a game or two? :-)

Well, I don't play online so I guess I am a noob:-)) Besides, I use all of the dwarf heroes mostly + a custom one and they really are overpowered compared to other races' heroes. So I mean heroes, not units;-)
@AncalagonCZ i don´t think your a noob, its just because you don´t play online =). and the dwarven custom hero is overpowered, a friend of mine once managed to make a dwarf custom hero which is more powerfull then Sauron ^^. Online play is really different, since mostly other players will try to kill heroes first, because they are usually the most dangeroes =)
There is a glitch in basic non-patched (1.0) bfme2 - you can make a custom hero with combined abilities, so for example your hero can have the elvish whirlwind, the human spear, the sorcerer's word of power and so on. Such heroes are really cool:-) With them my friend and me were able to defeat 4 brutal AI opponents:-) I believe this glitch was fixed by following patches.
@AncalagonCZ you should really play BFME2 online, its really, different :P. i always have custom-heroes off, and i can beat 2 brutal AI opponents on my own (with some effort :P). but online is different, especially if you play rated. i like a big challenge, thats why i play online =)
first row of orcs will come out first and u send them to fight,when the first row almost fall the second row will come out then u keep sending them until the elves cannot even have chance to attack anymore even if they bombarding u.
I swear i hate when i play and Elven race has all these archers and my units are practically useless, unless i sneak around and then bomb them with mountain giants =D
Elven are my favorite race to be my enemy. And Goblins are my favorite to be. Archers silverthorn are indeed anoying, try some fire drakes. But you have to admit, goblin enemy gives these huge waves of goblins. Do you know what is totally unfair and annoying, that thranduill that fires invisible and only a direct besides standing hero reveals him.
Of course Mordor would win, they have more heroes than Isengard and they are stronger. Just Lurtz and Saruman are strong in Isengard. However, Isengard has stronger units than Mordor.
ok everybody, watch this video, cause its a good example what happens when an amature uses mordor's power. You see pikemen and you have attacktrolls, so you have to do it different, then just running into them. you should be ashamed of yourself.
So, just to make some things clear: I was the Isengard player, my friend played with Mordor, but neither of us should be ashamed of anything. As I have said many times before, we made this video just for fun, not to prove which side is stronger and so on.. Almost everyone knows that trolls are weak against pikes and fire and strong vs basic infantry, basic (not upgraded) archers and cavalery. So why prove sth that's obvious?
If you use your attack trolls propiately, then they have no weakness (except for fire drakes). Just let your trolls run forward, stop at the line of pikemen (so dont let them run through it) and then slam, then pikemen are a piece of cake.
Well.. I don't think so:-) If you set your pikemen to a defensive stance, trolls are no match for them, especially when the pikemen are upgraded. Trolls are not strong against everything like heroes are:)
That is even better, cause that prevents the pikemen from running forward and the troll can slam the battlejon without getting piked much. Upgraded pikemen gets more difficult, for the increased attack strenght, but not impossible. well, I dont think wormtongue and skarku are laying much weight against the troll. Sarumans fireball is good and lurtz rage as well. but they are single hero's. A few leveled trolls will take care of them. and for the record, hero's aren't strong against everything.
I think they are, read the manual or try it by yourself. In general there is no unit that heroes are more vulnerable to than to others. Of course some units like trolls do more damage to them, but that's not because of a specialization but because those units are just strong in general. In basic bfme2 (not rotwk) you can create almost invincible heroes capable of holding an entire army just by themselves.
Yes, you can create a hero that can stop entire armies, but then you are talking about create a hero. Im talking about just the regular hero, that each of the sides had, those are not that strong. Catapult, balista are good against hero and so is, how shame full, 10 battleons of hobbtis, must be a error in the game, but the rock throwing of hobbits causes trouble for regular hero's. Regular Hero's arent that good you think.
I already knew who was going to win... attack trolls cant fight against a lot of pikemen in addition to archers. its just fucking common sense when it comes to this game. I would try calvary vs trolls.

Races in rotwk are balanced much better, so it is impossible to destroy a whole enemy army with just a single custom hero.

my method with mordor was to buy time using archers and heroes and build up like 15 attack trolls
then i run in and mow down all my opponent's builds in one fell swoop
i just ignore their units
really mordors only chance vs silverthorn arrows and heroes is a massive catapult offensive from long range

I disagree, I think the heroes are *extremely* unbalanced. Armor, for example, is by far the most powerful stat (though not many people know that). But if you were to load up a dwarf hero with ~19 armor, they're almost invincible. Combine that with any combination of the extremely over-powered dwarven custom hero powers and you have an army-killer right there.
Still though, I freaking love this game! It's soooo much fun! ^_^

Dwarven heroes are the most powerful, however I think that's because the dwarves specialize in close, hand-to-hand combat so their heroes are a brutal force at close range. Elven heroes are good at range and Men of the West heroes are all-around. As for the stats, I pay attention to just 3 stats when making a hero - strength (power), armor, health. Vision and health reg. aren't so important imho.

Even with a health regen. of 2, your hero will still regenerate very quickly. And armor is the best attribute because every point put in armor has a larger impact on the stat. Points in health and strength give much smaller increases to their respective stats than a point in armor. That's why it's always better to max armor and put no extra points in health than an even split. Your hero will end up with ~3,000-4,000 health even with only a few points spent in the stat... lol

Now the reason dwarven heroes are the most powerful are because of the possible skills they can learn. If you look at the Men skills you'll see things like Athelas and Elendil. If you look at the dwarven powers, you'll see artillery strikes, berserk, earthquake... far more dangerous abilities, especially to an enemy army. Don't get me wrong, all the heroes are very good, well above most default heroes. Still, the dwarves are significantly unbalanced. ...imho ;)

You are right, but it doesn't apply to the rotwk add-on. There it is not possible anymore to, for example, assault and destroy an enemy base just with 2 powerful heroes like in bfme2. Some say that Angmar is overpowered (like Dwarves in bfme2) but they don't seem that strong to me. However, I like playing with them:-)

Actually... now that I think of it, RotWK balances it out much more. Because they changed the hero cost system, those dwarven powers make them more expensive. Anyway, great game.

Yep, I like Angmar and Isengard out of evil races and Dwarves and Men out of the good ones. BfME2 and RotWK are imho the best games from Tolkien's world. Btw. fancy a game or two? :-)

@AncalagonCZ i don´t think your a noob, its just because you don´t play online =). and the dwarven custom hero is overpowered, a friend of mine once managed to make a dwarf custom hero which is more powerfull then Sauron ^^. Online play is really different, since mostly other players will try to kill heroes first, because they are usually the most dangeroes =)

There is a glitch in basic non-patched (1.0) bfme2 - you can make a custom hero with combined abilities, so for example your hero can have the elvish whirlwind, the human spear, the sorcerer's word of power and so on. Such heroes are really cool:-) With them my friend and me were able to defeat 4 brutal AI opponents:-) I believe this glitch was fixed by following patches.

@AncalagonCZ you should really play BFME2 online, its really, different :P. i always have custom-heroes off, and i can beat 2 brutal AI opponents on my own (with some effort :P). but online is different, especially if you play rated. i like a big challenge, thats why i play online =)
you should try it, it adds a new level of fun :P

Elven are easy to defeat if using mordor.
Simply build 3 orcs pit at the first starting,
then recruit 5 units of orcs in each pits,so the
first row of orcs will come out first and u send them to fight,when the first row almost fall the second row will come out then u keep sending them until the elves cannot even have chance to attack anymore even if they bombarding u.

Elven are my favorite race to be my enemy. And Goblins are my favorite to be. Archers silverthorn are indeed anoying, try some fire drakes. But you have to admit, goblin enemy gives these huge waves of goblins. Do you know what is totally unfair and annoying, that thranduill that fires invisible and only a direct besides standing hero reveals him.

Of course Mordor would win, they have more heroes than Isengard and they are stronger. Just Lurtz and Saruman are strong in Isengard. However, Isengard has stronger units than Mordor.

ok everybody, watch this video, cause its a good example what happens when an amature uses mordor's power. You see pikemen and you have attacktrolls, so you have to do it different, then just running into them. you should be ashamed of yourself.

So, just to make some things clear: I was the Isengard player, my friend played with Mordor, but neither of us should be ashamed of anything. As I have said many times before, we made this video just for fun, not to prove which side is stronger and so on.. Almost everyone knows that trolls are weak against pikes and fire and strong vs basic infantry, basic (not upgraded) archers and cavalery. So why prove sth that's obvious?

If you use your attack trolls propiately, then they have no weakness (except for fire drakes). Just let your trolls run forward, stop at the line of pikemen (so dont let them run through it) and then slam, then pikemen are a piece of cake.

Well.. I don't think so:-) If you set your pikemen to a defensive stance, trolls are no match for them, especially when the pikemen are upgraded. Trolls are not strong against everything like heroes are:)

That is even better, cause that prevents the pikemen from running forward and the troll can slam the battlejon without getting piked much. Upgraded pikemen gets more difficult, for the increased attack strenght, but not impossible. well, I dont think wormtongue and skarku are laying much weight against the troll. Sarumans fireball is good and lurtz rage as well. but they are single hero's. A few leveled trolls will take care of them. and for the record, hero's aren't strong against everything.

I think they are, read the manual or try it by yourself. In general there is no unit that heroes are more vulnerable to than to others. Of course some units like trolls do more damage to them, but that's not because of a specialization but because those units are just strong in general. In basic bfme2 (not rotwk) you can create almost invincible heroes capable of holding an entire army just by themselves.

Yes, you can create a hero that can stop entire armies, but then you are talking about create a hero. Im talking about just the regular hero, that each of the sides had, those are not that strong. Catapult, balista are good against hero and so is, how shame full, 10 battleons of hobbtis, must be a error in the game, but the rock throwing of hobbits causes trouble for regular hero's. Regular Hero's arent that good you think.
