A stray dog mauled a cat in our frontyard once. I throw a brick at the dog, but, I was too late for the cat. The cat was crushed between the dog's teeth and it was desperately gasping for it's last breath minutes later. The dog avoided me everytime afterwards. I've sharpened my machete for it.

Most dogs would only give a cat a warning, like a scratch or bite. But it is unfair for the cat to be murdererd unless the dog ate the cat, and that too is extremely uncommon. Animals almost never fight to death unless nessecarry.

The cat is scared for its life and trying to scare off a potential threat as well as preparing to defend itself. A cat being scared is NOT evil and NOT funny. However, the owner did get the dog to move away so the only thing they are guilty of is a bad sense of humor, although taking so long seems mean. It is real easy to introduce most dogs and cats all you need is a few minutes to look it up, a leash and patience.
