  • my favourite pasta dish but can you use basil along with the parsley. what about throw in some black olives too that way can get all of he best things in one dish (olives and olive oil, garlic, chili, basil, cheese, tomato sauce) or would this then become another different existing pastadish i dont know of.

  • @rostant999 It would become a puttanesca, with no anchovies and capers! Have a look at it youtube.com/watch?v=RKDjetk5Kko

  • @yellowsaffron wow i love anchovies too i have got to try puttanesca. thank your youtube channel is great :)

  • @rostant999

I've the exact same thing you are talking about. I grow basil in my garden and I am an olive freak. I'll eat a whole can of olive for a late night snack. When I replaced the parsley with basil and added olives, the pasta was delicious. I mean crazy delicious.

Next time you have an awesome culinary idea like that, don't ask people if you can do it. Just do it. You can add Kalamata, gaeta and Greek olives. Go for it.

  • I LOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEE TOMATOES!!!!

  • @IssacSchneiderGin11 Try our stuffed tomato recipe! youtube.com/watch?v=UK6dWGxXyg8

  • @Ronaldo4life9 Yes, if you prefer

  • @yellowsaffron

thank u! I will try to make ARRABIATA this weekend!

  • now i'm hungry

  • yum i want to try now.super thx

  • yyuuuummm i want dinner now!

  • Delicious!!

  • Thank you for this upload, only 211 recipies to go^^

  • gnam gnam!

  • another question, can i add some of the cheese into the sauce when i add the pasta, or do you only sprinkle cheese at the end?

  • @shammy63 It's better to add it at the end, otherwise it melts and makes the pasta stick to itself

  • Could I use less oil? As the sauce looked very oily at the end of the video?

  • @origamicrane3004 Yes, of course!

  • can i add chorizo to this or any other sort of hot sausage?

  • @shammy63 Yes, chorizo is a very good match with arrabbiata sauce!

  • can i use green chillies instead of the red chillies used in the video?

  • @cookiesaywhat Yes, of course

  • Why are you still complain with "but you have forgot... why don't you put this.." it's the ORIGINAL ITALIAN recipe!! If you what the italian taste do it this way!

  • looks awesome ur a very talented chef

  • Ive never made these recipe's before, but the look delicious i should really try them...

  • lasciatelo in italiano!! xD

  • tennis and italian food are mixed in YouTube. xD

  • no chopped onion?? no cream??! the sauce should be thick too!!

  • @TheDoctorcute The recipe involves the use of garlic instead of onion, since the latter would be sweeter, but if you prefer you can use both.

With regard to the cream, it's definitely forbidden, if you want to stick to the recipe! Just cook the sauce until thick as desired.

  • You have completely left out chopped onions, why? should they not be browned before you add the tomatoes. also, no tomatoe puree? i'm not convinced by the sauce aswell, it looks a bit too "thin" when it should be a bit thicker. It isn't coating the pasta as much as it should.

  • @moewishaw The original recipe involves the use of garlic and the thickness of the sauce depends on the type of tomatoes you use

  • why mix it together in that tiny pan? a better idea would be get rid of the water used for boiling, add the cooked pasta add the sauce TO the pasta and stir it like a mofo. Would be so much more effective.

  • what is the name of the pasta pan thing? i want one of those

  • can i substitute parsley with coriander ?

  • @duyus It's up to your taste!

  • unexpected guests are usually robbers

  • no meat but still looks really good!

what kind of peppers are you using?

  • @bobwatters Fresh red chili peppers... in Italy we don't have many varieties!

  • @yellowsaffron hmm ima have to look that up idk what those peppers are.

  • i think she forgot to turn the stove on.. the garlic was just sitting there in the pan with oil., disgusting

  • No salt?

  • @MissxDubai Add salt to taste when the tomato sauce is almost cooked, and boil the pasta in salted water

  • it doesn't look rich sauce at all, I guess the sauce should be cooked more to thicken up... anyhow thanks

  • she dropped a piece at 1:41

  • @rex22neo hahaha how u saw it ?? :DD

  • @TnTJoE1 she also dropped one at 1:18

  • SEXY !

  • how many people does it serve

  • @jammbbosammbbo 4 people

  • Hmm, il questo recipe e molto bene, grazie!

  • I've been looking videos of this channel since few hours^^ and i'm hungry :D

  • what if u use fresh tomatoes?

  • @bahmand It's fine, too

  • @yellowsaffron I don't think it would be the same outcome becasue the tomatoes she used had the liquid with it. But if you are using fresh chopped tomatoes then i suppose you could add a bit of passata? Let me know if you try this method.

  • Gosh I am SOOO HUNGRY!

  • There seems like a lot of oil in that pan

  • how long does penne take to boil?

  • @Uniquestylez01 It should be written on the package

  • meh mine was better :)

  • yeah well. anyone could've come up with that recipe. marinara without meat. And with chili peppers.

  • lots of itailian dishes have the 3 colors of their flag lol

  • @kennydrizzle1 Because it's the colour of the 3 main Mediterranean ingredients: basil, mozzarella and tomato!

  • Penne means penis. I just had to say it.

  • @triplukeify In Italian, it means "feathers"

  • si mi esposa pregunta que hay de comer le voy a decir mi angry penne hahahaha

  • @anthonycotillo jejeje

  • where's the salt???

  • @mutqt06 OMG HOW CAN YOU USE SALT WITH PECORINO?! Have you ever eaten pecorino cheese?

  • isnt this pretty much a spicy marinara?

  • @AndrewS1178 Marinara is a term we use for pizza... this is called "arrabbiata" sauce, which means "angry" right because it's very hot!

  • @AndrewS1178 I think technically Marinara originally is a tomato sauce that has anchovies in it....but in modern times you're basically correct. It seems the slightest changes in ingredients merits a total name change in Italian dishes....whilst Americans for example would just call this a "spicy marinara" or spicy tomato sauce. Add Oregano and some people would think it's no longer a marinara sauce but a pizza sauce...so I don't know I get all confused ~_~

  • penne means cock in spanish

  • @Chitownboy1023 In Italian, it means "feathers"

  • @yellowsaffron This is also where the English word "pen" (ie: pen and ink) comes from, from the use of feather quills

It would appear that Italian is closer to Latin than Spanish is.

  • @ocelotxp no shit genius, that was kind of obvious

  • @yellowsaffron yeah cock feathers or pubic hair...

  • @Chitownboy1023 no, its pene not penne, also in italian pene means penis

  • where does she live where people just randomly drop by each others house and cook dinner for each other?

  • @joeratti italy

  • This looks good. I mean REALLY good. But I'm a college student and I'm hungry now! lol

  • 14 ounces of penne not 40....haha or you'll be cooking 2 1/2 lbs.

  • i wish I were Italian too. That way my attraction to all things Italian could be validated.

  • its always with alot of sauce.its never very less which you see in here this video. the transional home first way its made with equal amount of sauce according to the pasta.

  • @Mastergenius00 um...I've always heard that Italians generally use just enough sauce to coat the pasta and that Americans generally lather their pasta in a soup of sauce. This version looks more traditional from what I've been hearing from Italians for years

  • why pecorino?

  • @LeconsdAnalyse It's up to the chef.

Pecorino romano is a nice salty alternative to other grating cheeses. I like to think of it as a "seasoning" cheese. Like salt, you wouldn't eat it by itself.

It's also cheaper than parmigiana reggiano

  • As a cook it's always pleasant to see traditional recipe, so pure.

  • I hav tried this recipe is awesome....

  • i wish i was italian, ( im mexican) but i guess every race has its own unique culture

  • This was such an easy and boring recipe -_-

  • @singasadsong Wait for it...it's easy so you can accomodate people you didn't plan for!

  • hahah Angry Penne!!!

  • i'm fucking hungry

  • origenly from arabs contries we did it avery weak

  • can you also use peperoncino? (the dried chile seeds?)

  • fghgfg

  • Penne,

    minha comida favorita

  • Hum...adoroOoOoO!!

  • mui bueno

    very nice

    fantastic

    i lovily cook the italian

  • iSpongeCake: Ha, lol! I know what you mean!

  • 1:59 pause...YUMMEH

  • Great recipe for Angry pasta, I could add Pecorino to everything!

  • This recipe is about as "angry" as a hamster on downers. :P

  • Does sate somehow mean not heating your pan?

  • jajaja buey buena pero buena pss

  • That looks delicious!

  • If you're speaking English you don't need to randomly say words with an Italian accent. (i.e. Penne)

It just sounds awkward - like when Hispanic reporters say their name with an accent.

  • I can't help noticing that she appears to add the tomatoes to oil that's stone cold. She appears to cook the pasta, but I still think that the sauce is cold when she adds the pasta to it. For one thing, when you cook tomatoes they give off a pink froth. This recipe looks really disgusting - how's the sauce going to develop any flavour if you cook it for ten minutes?

  • when you use real San Marzano type Italian canned tomatoes, it does not have to cook very long.

  • @lexo30 what would you recomend to improve this?

  • @jaybee863 Because most of us can't get San Marzano tomatoes at the local supermarket, I would recommend simmering it for about two hours and using more tomatoes (and maybe some good vegetable stock, too) so that it doesn't dry out - but then I think penne arrabbiata is incredibly boring, so I don't really think it can be improved. I prefer spaghetti puttanesca in which you add olives and anchovies. Penne arrabbiata is food for people who don't like food but don't want to admit it.

  • @lexo30 2 hours wouldn't burn it or anything? I like your thinking. Dunno about anchonvies though :P

  • @lexo30 Apparently it's traditional to only cook the pasta sauce as long as it takes to make the pasta Aldente. But then again, in Italy they grow San Marzano tomatoes and they don't need to be cooked as long as we do here in the states. Plus I doubt the oil was stone cold...it was on low heat to avoid the garlic from burning and we don't know if she preheated it. These videos have a lot of scenes cut out

  • @Radjehuty I'm sure you're right. That's why I don't much like cooking Italian food, unless I'm feeling rich. If you're not able to get the absolute best and/or freshest ingredients, there's not much point in bothering, and really good, fresh ingredients are so expensive. I prefer French cookery, which is more about taking cheap ingredients and working on them to make them taste good.

  • jjh

  • Вкуснятина!

  • i never have unexpected guests, they're either expected or they're not coming in

  • @iSpongeCake I agree. If unexpected guests come to my house hoping that I'm going to cook them dinner, they should consider themselves lucky if I give them a glass of water.

  • @iSpongeCake i know lol

  • @iSpongeCake

    lol same here

  • @iSpongeCake Haha I agree.

  • @iSpongeCake

You and 29 more people are obviously not Italian, or Latin for that matter.

Friends are always welcome in a Southern-European home man!

  • @iSpongeCake typical, rude and inhospitable American...

  • @radbcc That's kind of mean. Unless you know all Americans, don't call us all one thing. I'm American and I know I'm a great host to my guests and I would never assume you're a certain way just because of where you were born.

  • @iSpongeCake LOL!

  • u7u

  • yummy gaga

  • mmmm hahaha

  • in spanish pene= penis

eat my penne, my penne is angry for pussy

    ahahahajajhjajh

  • muito bom este video eu gostei muito pois amo macarrão rsrsrrs

  • @walkthetalk69 I said twas most humourous. Ye dinnae agree?

  • i used to hate unexpected guests...but now i guess they're not so bad

  • According to Eddie Izzard this is what Darth Vader ordered in the Death star canteen

    Eddie Izzard Star Wars Cantina

  • That doesn't look appealing at all, not impressed!

  • Luv it.

  • I dont like use CANNED tomato, I prefer the fresh one.

  • what cheese? 0_0

  • Nice. Needs bacon though ...

It could do with some more herbage and more garlic! That was a pathetic amount of garlic. -_-
